Hyrulian and Hylian

It's annoying how people (even Nintendo) call it Hyrulian. It was originally Hylian. Okay who likes which?

I don't think I need to say anything. It should be obvious. But, you are wrong about something. Both are right.

Hyrulians are the people who live in Hyrule. Hylians are the special, pointy-earred people. Descendants of the Ancient race, or something like that. I don't remember exactly. (Which doesn't make for a very convincing argument, does it? Well, still.)

I'm going to assume this guy is right ^^^^^^^^ sicne Hyrulian is in his name.

It makes sense when you think like that. Hyruleans are sentient beings that are in Hyrule, but Hylians are the human-like race with pointy ears. I thought it was obvious.

HYrulian Hero is indeed correct. This is often confused because people now use the term so loosely. There's no way I can vote on this one.

Hylian may just be easier to say for some people.

I think Hylian sounds a lot better. I think they are two different meanings, though. Like Hylians are basically what Link, Zelda, and people in Castle Town (or Hyrule Market, or Clocktown, or whatever it is for each game) are and Hyrulians I think is speaking more widely about people living in the land of Hyrule or ancient Hyrule. I'm not entirely sure but I think that's it. Either way Hylian sounds better.

Hyrulian: Singular: The boy is hyrulian
Hylian: Plural: The hylian soldiers march to war.

I think that thats what it is but I'm not sure. Could be.

I'm sorry alexome12, but singular and plural is not what it's about. Hyrulian Hero gave the definition, it's pretty much spot on.

Hylian or Hyrulian?

A Hylian is a member of the Hylian race. They have pointed ears, have usually fair hair, and can do magic. Zelda and Link are members of the Hylian race.

A Hyrulian (an alternative spelling is Hyrulean) is anyone would calls Hyrule home, be they Hylian, Goron, or Zora.
Hylian is a race; Hyrulean is a nationality

Hyruleans are people who live in Hyrule.

Hylians are the plural of Hylia. The people of Hylia are the people with long ears that can hear the godesses (sometimes maybe?).
