Rate the zelda games you've played from best to worst.
All you really have to do in this thread is arrange the zelda games you've played from best to worst, and mention why it's in the list. Here's my list:
1st place-Twilight princess. There's just alot of things I love about this game. The controls were brilliant, the items were awsome, it had a great combat system especially with the hidden skills, its puzzles were designed very well, its plot was outstanding, its graphics were jawdropping, and everything else in this game is just brilliant. I'm actually one of the lucky people who doesn't care about sidequests, and wouldn't complain about TP's lack of sidequests. TP is arguably the best video game I've ever played in my life. 2nd place-Wind Waker. Man, I just love this game. Not as much as TP, but I still love it. The controls were nice, the mood was right, it had a superb plot, the graphics were creative, the combat was nice, and everything in the game is just completely worth loving. Except for sailing. Sailing sucked. 3rd place-Ocarina of Time. I can't exactly explain in words why this is up high third place in my list. It's probably because of all the memories I have playing this game. It was my first Zelda game, so I could never forget it. I also remember how much glory it got. This game just brings back so many memories which I could never forget. 4th place-Adventure of Link. Here are two words to describe this game: COMPLETELY UNDERRATED. Sure the side-scrolling wasn't that nice, but if there was anything that amuses me in this game, it's the difficulty. This game requires LOADS of practice unlike the other zeldas. It even keeps my heart beating, unlike the other zeldas. It requires the most concentration ever required in a zelda game. Look back for just one second, and that could mean instant death. The combat system in this game is actually very nice, and I adore it. Seriously, this game should get way more appretiation then it has now. I just don't get why people hate this game so much. 5th place-Oracle of Ages. Man, the puzzles in this game were completely BRILLIANT. There's too much creativity in them to describe in words. The bosses were also cool. And crescent Island's item hunt is probably my favorite part in the entire game. However, those were pretty much the only three things I really loved about this game. The rest were not that good. 6th place-A Link to the past. Um....I can't really say much about this game. It's just here in my list. 7th place-Majora's mask. This game's great, but there are things I'm not really fond of. Focusing more on sidequests, only four dungeons, boring gameplay in between dungeons, and the time limit. Aside from those and a few others, this game's still great. 8th place-Oracle of Seasons. This game's nice, so..um...yeah. I've also played minish cap, but I haven't gotten far, so I can't put it on my list.

Re: Rate the zelda games you've played from best to worst.
1. Wind Waker- Don't know why but I just found this the most fun Zelda game I have played yet. People don't give it a chance and are so closed minded about it's "lacking" graphics but if you pay attention to it it's a great game. The story is fantastic, the overworld map is the best of all Zeldas (in my opinion), the temples are some of the most fun, and the bosses aren't bad either. It just felt fun other than the more epic feel you get from other Zeldas so it was just a bit different from the others which made it special.
2. Twilight Princess- Do I really need to say why? It's a great game that doesn't get enough credit. People knock it and say it "let them down" or "will never be as good as OoT" but guess what, IT IS! To put it simply it has great characters (MIDNA), awesome battles (horseback combat rules!), and probably the best story of a Zelda game, in my opinion, since OoT. 3. Ocarina of Time- Just because I find TP better doesn't mean I'm an OoT hater. It simply has the best story of ANY Zelda and was brilliantly designed, especially at its time. It also had probably the best set of bosses of any Zelda and some of the most extraordinary dungeons. 4. A Link to the Past- In my opinion this game probably had some of the best dungeons and really made me think. The bosses were the hardest for me of any other Zelda, which I liked, and the items were pretty nice. The story was pretty good as well I suppose. 5. Link's Awakening- Like WW it was kind of different from other Zeldas. Took place on an island (Koholint) which was nice and the games itself was just really enjoyable. That's basically all I can say about it there's nothing else about it I think it really excells in other than possibly its story was pretty decent. 6. Majora's Mask- Absolutely HATED this game. I know so many people love this game but I couldn't stand playing it. The time limit got on my NERVES! Yes, I know it's meant to be a challenge but it gave me no time to run around and explore or goof off in dungeons without having to go all the way back. The dungeons were too short but STILL too difficult to actually enjoy. Then just the whole story was hard to get into. The moon falling on Termina because a mask is making it? Wow. Anyways the only plus I found in this game was using the masks. That was actually pretty fun. 7. Four Swords Adventure- I didn't really hate this one as much as MM but I have to admit it's really not that good a game so I put it last. WAY too simple to beat and it had no point really. Plus, I hated being the four Links it was stupid to me. |

Re: Rate the zelda games you've played from best to worst.
The Big Three:
OoT, MM, and TWW. OoT has the best dungeons, and most memorial songs of the series. MM has the most sidequests, and many NPCs have their own little backstories and lives. Some of them also move around, instead of standing in the same spot throughout the game. TWW has the most expansive overworld, in which you can sail around without a care. Just set the wind, open sail, and relax. The Oracles: The combination of these two games is the largest adventure yet. You also get your choice of three friends to accompany you through half of your adventure. Twilight Princess: It has a lot of references to past games, and has the most improved battle system. Other Noteworthy Games: FSA has four Links, so it has formations. FS has multiple Links as well, but I can't play it. I believe ALttP has the largest assortment of items that Link can get in his inventory. The original game is probably the most nonlinear game. You need the raft from level three to get to level four, and the ladder in level four to get through later dungeons, and the recorder from level five to get into level seven. You can do levels 1-3 in any order, you can do 5, 6, and 8 after getting the ladder in any order. You can also get around anywhere in the overworld at any time, which is slightly better then the Great Sea. Last edited by Daphnes; 05-20-2007 at 11:20 AM. |

Re: Rate the zelda games you've played from best to worst.
1. TP
2. OoT 3. FSA 4. TMC 5. The Oracles 6. ALttP 7. TWW 8. MM TP had barely any flaws. The only ones I think are flaws are too many rupees and that it could be harder. The lack of sidequests was good because sidequests would take away from the main quest. One or two is fine, but not too many. This is the problem I had with MM. The cluttering of sidequests greatly took away from the main quest and made it too short. TP was awesome with everything else. OoT is second because it, too, is awesome, but not quite as good as TP. It had great bosses and dungeons and stuff, but it had more flaws. Like an insane amount of glitches, dungeons are too short, and the like. The game is great, but it has a few more flaws than TP. FSA was so awesome. Great gameplay, great levels, dungeons, and bosses, and great a lot of things. Just the hold-only-one-item-at-a-time thing threw me off. And that's a big flaw. The game is also rather easy. TMC was awesome, but too short. sidequests cluttered the game, but the main quest was awesome. The dungeons were great too, even if there were only six. The Oracle series is great, even though I've only completed a couple dungeons in both. The games are getting hard. I like story and the gameplay, but both games are just so hard, I haven't touched them in awhile. ALttP isn't quite as great as the ones mentioned above because of it's insanely hard dungeons and other things. The dungeons were good and long, like I like them, but way too hard. Too many enemies and too many traps and stuff. That's a big flaw, plus the bosses were easy. Hard dungeons with easy bosses just doesn't sound right. Two big flaws. TWW is waaaaay too easy and boring. Big big flaws there. The overworld is too big, the dungeons are too short and easy, the bosses too easy, and I can point out other flaws. The game is generally boring, though. MM is the worst. Too many bad sidequests cluttering the game, the gameplay is too short, the dungeons aren't great (with the exception of the Stone Tower Temple), a really lame and easy final boss, and I could name a lot more. The game just wasn't that good. That's my list. ![]()

Re: Rate the zelda games you've played from best to worst.
1) OoT - I loved the songs, the dungeons were amazing, the bosses were wll developed, and the characters just brought the whole game together.
2) TP - The graphics were amazing, I loved the horse combat (something OoT lacked of) and the weapons were just plain awesome. But the game was just a bit too short for me, didn't really give me that "oomph" that I liked so much in OoT. 3) WW - I loved the cel shading of the game and all the different areas you could explore. What really brought it down for me was all that treasure hunting. Got on my nerves after a while. 4) MM - Even though I never finished it, it's still one of my favorites. I loved how you had to do everything within a certain amount of time, that really challenged me. I hated the temples and the bosses drove me nuts. 5) ALttP - I have the Gameboy version of it, and I really don't like the fact that it's a 2-d game. That just brought down the whole feel of the game for me.

Re: Rate the zelda games you've played from best to worst.
#1- Ocarina of Time - Come on. An old classic filled with good memories and nice gameplay.
#2- Twighlight Princess - The graphics of the game were lovely, along with the character development and storyline. The overall gameplay was one of the best i've seen. #3- Majora's Mask - I personally think this was my favorite storyline, just because there are so many interesting rumors, i still constantly play this game to check over details i miss often. It could very well be my most played game. However, the 3 day mark wasn't my cup of tea. mmm, tea. #4- A Link to the Past- In my opinion, the best game boy zelda game. The graphics were well done, and the music and voice of Link was also very nice, or whatever you'd like to call the noises Link makes. It was a lot of gameplay and very challenging to me, and i really enjoyed finishing it. I felt accomplished. #5- Wind Waker- very nice. The telling of the old Hyrule we all knew and loved. I basically love this game, because i could revisit the old destroyed once prospering town. Even though the cell shading was a bit bothersome at first, i got used to the game and loved sailing around. I was bothered that there was no temple for the (third?) pearl. #6-Adventure of Link- The battle style for the game was really awesome. I enjoyed adventuring through levels, raising MY levels to get stronger and get items. A lot of people don't like this game, but i really enjoyed dieing many times and playing through it. #7- Four Swords (gamecube)- good game, really. The idea of controlling four links in any way you'd like was nice. a little color tunic diversity was nice too. gameplay was neat, like when you invaded dark hyrule castle. yay. #8- Oracle of Seasons- I dont know why people hate this game. It was a neat little one, because of the intense character development, even seeing a child grow throughout your adventure, and how trees grow, and life happens in the game. I felt like a good person when i freed the goddess din, and destroyed Onix. The rings and Subrosians made the game nice too. #9 Link's Awakening- Well, i generally liked this game. Nothing really out of the ordinary, though. I liked the music and what not though. #10-Minish Cap- I dont know why, but this was just a boring or ordinary game to me. I didnt really like shrinking down to navigate through stuff, but i liked fighting Vaati. He was cool.
