Re: Rate the zelda games you've played from best to worst.
1: Twilight Princess
I've no idea why so many people beat this game up. Horseback combat was great, the music was pretty good, the plot was very good and kept me interested. It was also nice having an extra piece of heart per container, so there is even more exploring and side-questing about to do. 2: The Wind Waker So many people complain that it's too kiddy or the graphics are stupid. To me, graphics don't mean much of anything, (as long as I can see ^.^) and actually I rather like the friendly, cartoony, cell-shaded style. I loved exploring all the different islands, and it's fun to complete the trading sequence. Sailing was probably the low point of the game, although getting the Ballad of Gales made it much more tolerable. One of the best things was the massive 5000 rupee pouch. Not being able to hold enough rupees really annoyed me in TP and OoT. No such problems here. =) 3: Ocarina of Time Not too much to say on this one. I love it. Mostly I just hate the Water Temple. =) 4: Legend of Zelda I'm not really sure I have the right to list this, because I've only played it a tiny bit. But what I played bored me. =P |

Re: Rate the zelda games you've played from best to worst.
(1) Majora's Mask
I love this game, one of my fave parts of the Zelda games is meeting the people of whichever land your in, and the side-quests in MM are brilliant. the game itself is incredible once you get a control of the different systems (Time + Save systems) The darkest of the Zeldas (TP runs it close though) And quite challenging. Awesome. Also - The Return of the Hero of Time. Nuff Said. (2) Twilight Princess This game is great! yes there are issues with the game (such as the constant OOT rip-offs) but this game is huge, with a fantastic storyline and some brilliant characters, Nothing but love for TP. (3) Ocarina Of Time How the hell did this one drop down to third??? Even today this game outdoes anything on the market. a beautiful land to explore, the BEST Zelda storyline thusfar, and a huge adventure to keep you going. this game is near perfect. 3 cheers for Navi!!! (Where are thou Navi???) (4) The WindWaker Stop Hating!! this game is beautiful!! a really nice change to the series, yes we wanted a older hero of time, but this game made me not care. the graphics were brilliant, the combat much better than OOT/MM. a nice storyline and a hell of a lot to explore. Dont Hate The Game, Hate The Player - PREACH!!! (5) A Link to the Past I hate seeing ALTTP this low down but believe me, this game is GREAT!! great land to explore, great temples. ive completed this game 6 times, making it the most replayed Zelda game for me. just a pleasure to play. (6) Four Swords A different type of Zelda, is fun to play but far from epic. took about two days to finsh (playing it casually) making it the easiest of the Zelda's, fun game if your looking for a more arcadey style Zelda, still a good game though. (7) The Legend of Zelda (NES) I HATE THIS GAME!!! only completed it cuz i felt i HAD too!! apart from having NO storyline, the lack of map made this game SOO difficult. But you dont half feel good when u finish this one!! (8) The Adventure Of Link (NES) I HATE THIS GAME MORE!!! the only Zelda that i refused to continue playing. to this day i havent finished it and probably never will. when u look at the two NES Zelda games, ALttP just seems more incredible. The only problems i have with the Zelda series are the Lack of Storyline continuality (I wanna know what happens to the Hero of Time Following MM!!!) and it would be cool if after u finish a Zelda game if you could continue exploring the land. allowing you to talk to everyone after saving hyrule eg. (gotta feed that ego) Quite Simply the BEST game series on the planet!! Tell Mario, Sonic, GTA etc etc to take a long walk off of Snowpeak Mountain!! |

Re: Rate the zelda games you've played from best to worst.
OoT
TP aLttP MM LoZ OoA AoL tWW tMC AL Philip's games I still have not played FSA and FS plus it has been a while since I played OoS so it would not be appropriate for me to rate any of those. reasons for these rates. OoT, was and still is the best game I have ever played not even the new glory of TP can stand up to this (unless your talking about graphics.) I have played this game 10 times over and am still not in the slightest sick of it. TP, I can't say much about this game that hasn't already been said, or that everyone already knows about. aLttP, I my eyes this game could be number one, in fact the only thing holding it back is the fact that it is in 2D. If they made a 3D verison of this game it would would probably make number one on my list. MM, short yet at the same time interesting. the three days time limit was a very interesting twist that has not been seen in a Zelda game and probably won't be seen again. LoZ, this game has almost no story line and is very simple by in the end this is the classic that started it all. I enjoyed this game very much the first time I played it. OoA, Like all the gameboy games this one didn't impress me in the slightest. The game play is still quiet good. AoL, when I first playd this game I didn't expect to like it at all seeing as everyone else hated it, but as it turns out this game is not as bad a people make it out to be. The fact of the matter is that most of the people who claim they hate this game probably have never accually finished it. tWW, the graphic made this game hard to look at all together, the chibi sort of look does not go well with Zelda... and the end of the game is mostly pointless busy work instead of really levels which makes this game very annonying to play all the way threw. tMC and AL, as I said before the gameboy games have not managed to inpress me yet. tMC kind of made me sad seeing as the game is mostly a compy and paste job. meaning that most of the stuff in it comes from other games, this game is for sure not uniqe Philip's games, These three games pretty much kill Zelda. They are good for a laugh but not much else and are not to be taken seriously.

Re: Rate the zelda games you've played from best to worst.
Ok, here are mine:
1. Majoras Mask(MM): To me, one of the best Zelda's ever, pushing aside the graphics. I did think it was slightly too futuristic, but that is the only complaint I can come up with. 2. Orcarina of Time(OoT): One grade above TP for only one reason(Listed in TP). It was long and decently hard, and you could do the temple out of order if wanted. 3. Twilight Princess(TP): Everything about this game was great, except for about the most important thing in a Zelda game, Plot. Messed up big time. 4. Minish Cap(MC): The new cap and villan were okay, my favorite thing was the shrinking thing, awesome. 5. Four Sword(FS): The awesome 4-player action was great! As matter of fact, I dont know why I put MC in front of FS. Switch those! |

Re: Rate the zelda games you've played from best to worst.
Could you please explain how the plot of TP was messed up? In my opinion, it was the best plot in the series. It was the one that I guessed what would happen the least. I'm not saying the plots in the other games were bad, I'm just saying TP's was the best.

Re: Rate the zelda games you've played from best to worst.
1. Oot- the best mix of excellent dungeons, side quests and story. Come on, it was pretty much perfect.
2. TP- Horseback swordplay? Hand to hand combat with Ganondorf? 'nuff said. the only reason its not #1 is because it wasn't as hard as OoT. I spent most of the game cruising through the dungeons-- however, the ending fight was by far the best of any Zelda game-- I only wish it was longer. (I also wish there was some sort of a trading game.) It also had the best overworld and warp system. 3.ALttP- OH, YEAH. This game had some of the best dungeons any Zelda has ever seen---not to mention 11 of them. I also loved how it had 2 alternating overworlds, something i'd like to see again in a zelda game. The feeling I got when i beat this game was the happiest feeling of victory i have ever felt from a game, and the final fight was actually HARD. anyone but me want to see this remade in 3D? 4. LA- mmhmmm. I loved this game. it's amazing how the game felt like a dream even though it was in 2D and black and white, not to mention on a tiny little screen. Plus, the mountain music was probably my favorite zelda track. 5. OoS/OoA- These games together were great. I like how they corresponded so well but also were so different. Ages was more puzzly, and Seasons was more actiony, but they really worked well together. 6.TMC- I liked the sidequests- long but not too lengthy, like MM ( which i havent finished). The gameplay was good- not too easy, not too hard, and genuinely fun. ----- |

Re: Rate the zelda games you've played from best to worst.
1: Majora's Mask: My all-time favorite Zelda game! This game really sticks out from the rest of the series. It's different yet very engrossing story is probably it's best strong point. It is darker, more involved, emotional, and much less cliched than probably any other Zelda game. The abundant sidequests were great and added to the game's replay value. The ablitiy to transform really added to the gameplay by opening up many more different kinds of puzzels to solve. The dungeons, although limited to only 4, where probably the most interesting and challanging ones in the series, especially Stone Tower. The NPCs seemed more realistic and life-like with their own backstories and daily schedules. The ablitiy to go back 3 days allowed for doing subquests, boss fights, opening treasure chests, and more over and over till your heart's content unlike any of the other Zelda games thus far, adding significantly to the replay value once more. I still enjoy playing my file I've had since I got the game even though I've done just about everything there is to do in that game. That alone shows how great the replay value is because usually once I beat a game, I start a new file if I want to play it again. Rarely do I go back to the same file. Though being a tad bit linear at times, it was the best Zelda experience I've ever, well, experienced.
2: Ocarina of Time: Though it doesn't really stick out among the other Zelda games, especially plot-wise, like Majora's Mask, Ocarina of Time was a very great game. The world was huge and often times fun to explore and find the many secrets within it. The story, though basically just a much more detailed version of the past Zelda games' stories, was interesting and engrossing. The dungeons were challenging and satisfying. The replay value isn't quite as good as Majora's Mask, it still has much more than most other Zelda games. I find myself enjoying it even playing through it over and over. 3: The Wind Waker: I really enjoyed the Wind Waker. It was interesing and quite different from the others, especially world and graphic-wise. The overworld was HUGE (I can't stress that enough) and exploring each island was definately fun, however I often found that the islands were way too small, some so small you couldn't even really do anything there like the archipelagoes and the "eyed" islands. The plot was, well, predictable yet interesting and different enough to satisfy me; the final battle with Ganondorf was probably the most epic final boss fight I've ever experienced, ever. Finding the pieces of the Triforce of Courage broke away from the linear path of the plot which was refreshing somewhat. The graphics, though different and unrealistic, were absolutely fantastic! It suited the game so well, especially giving Link facial expressions for a change. Speaking of Link, he seemed more realistic, more emotional, and had much more of a personality than in any Zelda game thus far, even Twilight Princess. Overall, this game is most enjoyable. 4: Twilight Princess: This game was increadibly exciting and engrossing, especially the first play-through. The plot in the beginning was very unique and original, but after the Master Sword part, it got awfully dull and predictable. Horesback fighting was probably the most exciting thing in the game, too bad they didn't put enough of it in there... The dungeons were a little too easy, but still reasonably fun, which is what counts. The enemy AI was absolutely pitiful, especially the bokoblins'. I can move out of their way and they'd still be running in that direction for about a second or two and swing his club at nothing. Even some of the 2D Zelda games surpassed Twilight Princess in this category. I didn't mind the music being MIDI, but they really seemed to rehash the Hyrule Overworld Theme over and over. The same melody can be found in Gerudo Desert, Snowpeak, the end credits, several fanfares, etc. which annoyed me somewhat. About the plot again, it was WAY too linear. Being confined to a specific location until you fufill what you have to do to progress the story and eventually open up another little area to go to. The characters weren't very interesting at all. They didn't really have much of a point, especially Ilia. The only thing she ever does is give you the Horse Whisle, and she has barely any impact at all on the overall story. She could be completely removed from the game and the story still be fully intact. Places like Death Mountain, Zora's Domain and Kakariko Village were rediculously empty. Zora's Domain was just a big waterfall with a little hall at the top of it. Where the hell did the Goron's live, in the mines? Where's Goron City? Kakariko Village only had a handful of people living there and there was nothing at all to do. Did that many people die from the Twilight Beast invasion thing? Well, for some good points about the game, it was fun, dispite the many flaws. I did enjoy it greatly the first play-through, but I can't seem to make myself play through it again. The final battle with Ganondorf was really awesome, rivaling the final battle in the Wind Waker. There were many places to explore in Hyrule, with the many caves and grottos, though usually disappointed to find rupees at the end instead of something a little more useful, like a Heart Piece or something. Overall, it was good enough, though it could've been better, especially with all the time they used to make it. 5: Minish Cap: This game was enjoyable, though somewhat lacking in difficulty. The plot was pretty neat, somewhat original maybe. The gameplay was unique, shrinking to get into various areas; it really opened up a new set of puzzels and whatnot. The graphics are very beautiful, smoothe, and easy on the eyes. Overall, it was great, but not the greatest for sure. 6: Oracle Series: These games were very enjoyable. They were challenging and their plots were engrossing, probably more so than any of the other hand-held Zeldas thus far. The dungeons were rather boreing at times and I didn't quite enjoy them as much as the other Zeldas' dungeons. However, I did enjoy the subquests in between dungeons greatly. I'm also fond of the music of the games, perhaps more so than the other hand-helds. Overall, they were pretty fun to play. 7: A Link to the Past: For some reason this game doesn't really interest me nearly as much as the others do. I don't know why exactly. It was fun and very challenging (sometimes too much so...) and the story was interesting, but it just wasn't one of those games that compelled me to play it. I dunno. 8: The Legend of Zelda: Though it was the original Zelda and was very fun, it hardly had a story. I did enjoy the free-roaming of it all. It's the only Zelda game I get the feeling of exploration from. No other Zelda game so far compares in that respect. The many items made the gameplay more interesting and diverse. Overall, this game was absolutely fantastic for it's time, but sadly doesn't compare too well to the newer Zelda games. 9: The Adventure of Link: Despite me not have played it much, this really is the worst Zelda game I've ever played. The gameplay was really bad, being a sidescroller which Zelda REALLY shouldn't be. The leveling up thing just wasn't Zelda. It just didn't have that "Zelda feel" to it. The difficulty was rediculous, or at least in my opinion it was. It was one of those games that was just too hard, way beyond challenging. The only thing I really liked about this game was the music and overall size of the overworld. Whew! That was... Too much typing...

Re: Rate the zelda games you've played from best to worst.
Twilight Princess: I think the reason I would put this first on my list because it is one of the funnest games I've ever played. I really enjoyed. I especially loved the emotions and the cutscenes. The music was the best in any Zelda game, and even though it doesn't matter to me, the graphics were the best of any Zelda game.
Ocarina of Time: I think that I'd put this second on my list because I really have so many memories of the game. It was the first Zelda game I ever played and it got me hooked to the series. And it was a big jump from 2-D to 3-D, which made the Zelda series awesome. Wind Waker: I loved this game. The graphics were great, I thought. The story was great. The battles were great. The music was great. I enjoyed travelling around the Great Sea and doing the sidequests. This game brings back memories, too. Majora's Mask: This game was good. The long dungeons, and the sidequests are what made me like it. The time system was very well thought out. It played a role in what would happen when, and that was great. The overworld was nice and I loved the music. ALttP: This game was, at least, one of the greatest 2-D Zelda games. I thought it was awesome. I especially enjoyed the music. The dungeons are pretty long, and the game makes you think about where to go next. TMC: My favorite out of the Gameboy Zelda games. This one had excellent music, good gameplay, and I loved the sidequests. This one had the most awesome land areas out of the Gameboy Zelda games. LA: The things I liked about this game were that it was fun to play. And some of the parts of the game I loved. The music was awesome, too. OoA/OoS: I think I'll just lump these games together. They were both awesome, and I just loved them, really I don't know why. LoZ: Okay, I'll admit, I don't like this one as much as the others... But without it where would we be? There would be no Zelda, so I'll give credit to this game, too. I just didn't like how they made the dungeons like you don't know which wall you'll have to bomb next. AoL: Yes, this game has to go last on my list. I don't really like how they made it a level-up game... but, hey... it was just a test. I liked this game because of it's difficulty. I wish that they would try a 3-D Zelda game with this kind of difficulty, but I think I can see why they can't. I'm finally done! I can't really say if this is accurate, though, because I can't really rate Zelda. They're all pretty awesome. |

Re: Rate the zelda games you've played from best to worst.
1. Ocarina Of Time - First Zelda game I played and still my favourite. Always captivates me, and has the best music in the series.
2. Majora's Mask - Loved all the side quests and the storyline, was very dark but I hate the Great Bay Temple with a passion. 3. Twilight Princess - Thought this was a great game and the gameplay was great, bosses were a bit too easy. 4. The Wind Waker - Has one of my favourite storylines out of all the games, originally the graphics put me off but got over that quick when I played the game. Still don't play it as much as the others though. 5. The Legend of Zelda - Appreciate it for what it is but just didn't feel this game like I have with the others, and I know it's stupid but the graphics put me off now .. it can't be helped but I guess when your first Zelda game is OoT it's hard not to expect beautiful graphics. Like I said stupid reason but thats just my opinion.

Re: Rate the zelda games you've played from best to worst.
1. MC
I know I'm in a minority here, but I enjoyed this game the most. Mainly because of the whole reunion concept of characters in the Zelda series. 2. TP I really don't have to give a reason for this. 3. OOT/MM Epic games, but doesn't match to TP one bit. 4. OOX/Loz/Aol Didn't like these games very much.
