zelda remake
well i just wanted to put in my 2 cents to say how it would be really indescribably great to remake LOZ and LOZ:AOL not just both of them but make it as one game since their both cconnected if they do this it can answer more questions toward other Zelda games but this game can be probably the biggest zelda game ever plus all the stuff that can be added.....ahhh o well it nothin but a dream to tell the truth im all of you know but can you imagine the possibilities tell me what you think and your ideas

Re: zelda remake
It already is connected, in the game: Zelda: The collectors edition. Loz, Loz: AoL, OoT and MM. But in what could be added I would go for more weapons in LoZ, only eight weapons so it's kind of, yea. And also more dungeons.

Re: zelda remake
The Legend of Zelda: Collector's Edition was a promotional offer to gamers in America and Europe, with the idea that by owning the copy and a Gameboy Player, you could potentially play every existing Zelda game on Gamecube.
It was essentially a re-release of LoZ, AoL, OoT & MM; the only games not released on Gameboy (until later with NES Classics) or Gamecube (except for the limited edition OoT Master Quest game). MM did have sound glitches though, so it wasn't a perfect re-release edition. On topic, I want to see a remake of OoT, if only to see some character expression on Link's face. |

Re: zelda remake
No. Making them in 3D would ruin them.
And yeah, making them connect, as in being one game together, would ruin them as well due to the significantly different in game view points.

Re: zelda remake
that would be cool but i don't know if making them 3d would be cool or not but i think it would certainly be worth playing through, but also you'd have to merge the quests and other things such as the collection of the triforce, but if they could make it i would definitely play it

Re: zelda remake
There's LOZ: BS, though you'd be hard-pressed to actually somehow play that LOZ remake.
Then there's Zelda Classic. That has all sorts of remakes. But an AOL remake? There's ports, but no remakes.

Re: zelda remake
I think it would be cool in 3-D, becuase you'd have both! But what I really want to see is an Ocarina of Time remake... please, Nintendo!

making zelda 1 into a 3d game may not be the best idea, but I could see Aol being a good game in 3d. it has some potential to do that in dungeons and in the middle of battles.

Re: zelda remake
Not if it was done right. Of course the geography and layout of the land might have to change a bit. For example, you couldn't have cheaply made rock boundaries everywhere. That would work for 2-d top-down games, but not for a decent TP wannabe game in 3D graphics.. And you know they don't have to remake the game verbatim; they could always make a new game with the same elements as Zelda 1 (Geography, weapons, etc), but with new twists. For example, if I was over the production of Legend of Zelda, I would have surely added at least one good sized city.

Yeah. It would be better if they could add some items from other 2d zelda that were not used in 3d games. magic powder, fire and ice rod, or the roc's feather/cape. I don't know what they would be useful for but it would be cool

Re: zelda remake
Yech.
A remake? No. 2-d, top-down was what MADE these games. Their greatness was in the design that they came with. Zelda classic wouldn't be what it was today if it had started out in 3-D. Zelda II is a unique game, and it wouldn't be nearly the same experience, or the same challenge, as a 3D reincarnation. Let's face it. Zelda 1's charm lay in its mystery. With minimal instructions, and few hints, that game was all about just finding stuff, and experimenting. That doesn't lend very well to a 3D, visual and more realistic environment. There are certain things that the mystic "3D" simply cannot do, or emulate well. Zelda 2's charm lay in its challenge. It had less mystery as Nintendo got better at programming and designing. The game gave more clear hints and instructions as to where to head next. But the real heart of the game lay in its more advanced and rigorous combat. While future Zelda titles had much more cinematic and effective combat abilities, especially in Twilight Princess, Zelda 2 still reign's supreme in terms of challenging you. The side-scroller format made the quick and deadly enemies particularly dangerous. How would we emulate such an element in a 3D environment? I'd say that'd be a very tough task to complete. And to make it interesting at the same time? I just don't see it being done. |
