Gyorg -- MM and TWW

Has anyone ever noticed that in TWW, there is a shark enemy called a Gyorg? Nintendo named an enemy after a boss in MM! Also, I've noticed that the have some resemblances to Gyorg from MM (darn, we need an EE thread for this forum).

Oh, really? I didn't notice that before. It's just because they're both types of fish though.

You can only find them while sailing. They'll come up and attack you sooner or later.

Re: Gyorg -- MM and TWW

Nintendo renames a lot of bosses and enemies after past creatures. It's not an uncommon thing. There is a boss in TP, a giant spider, with "Ghoma" in its name.

It's really not that uncommon in Zelda.

Re: Gyorg -- MM and TWW

OH! Those Shark-like monsters.

So what? Did Cyorg have offspring before being vanquished by Link?

(Probably so. After all, look at all the little fish it spits out while you're fighting it...)

^_^ Don't forget about the Gyorg pair in TMC, guys! :3

http://zeldawiki.org/index.php?title=Gyorg <-- see?

I wouldn't be surprised at all if we saw more creatues called Gyorgs showing up in PH and the new wii Zelda as well. The Zelda franchise has a habit of recycling enemies all the time.

Re: Gyorg -- MM and TWW

However, there is always one trait that distingushes one species from the next in the Zelda series. For examples, Ghomas only have one eye. Stalfos are skeleton warriors. Darknuts are always in some sort of armor.

Hmm... still looking for that special atribute for Cyorg...

Re: Gyorg -- MM and TWW

Moved to General Zelda.

If I recall, ZeldaLegends has an amazing guide that shows how each of the main enemies evolves over the franchise's history. Unfortunately, I can't confirm this since ZL is still down while L-o-S redoes the layout.

It's http://www.zeldalegends.net/ . Again, the site is down for maintainence at the moment. Lord-of-Shadow, the webmaster, is implementing a new design that he's had in the works for a while. The main site should be up again in a week or two, I think.

I honestly don't know for certain if the article is even there, but I'm pretty sure that's where you'll be able to find it when everything's back up.
