Re: Side quests & Mini-games
The poll is confusing it should say "like" and "dislike" not yes or no because I dont know which I'm saying yes or no to.
Anyways I took a gamble and said yes I DO like the mini games and side quests. Those are what make Zelda so fun because very few games put extra things in that don't have to do with the game. Without them we wouldn't really have anything to do after we beat them. |

What he said.
Anyway, the only side-quest I did not like was getting the Biggoron Sword in OoT. Other then that, I like them!

Re: Side quests & Mini-games
Mhhh I can't think of any at the moment BUT I can tell you that one of the bad things o tp is that their hardly are any! But you get some good minigames like in the fishing hole you can play this game called roalgoal or some thing like that it can be very anoying but sometimes REALLY fun on the wii version!

Re: Side quests & Mini-games
I love side quests and mini games. Makes the game that bit more for me.
MM has some of the best. It's nice to do something apart from the dungeons and adds abit of freedom. I cant think of any I didn't like.

Re: Side quests & Mini-games
It depends I guess, I really enjoy sidequests but minigames are really just something that's just there added extra for me. Sidequests can help show a deeper understanding of the NPC's in the game. Majora's Mask would be a great example, alot of the sidequests revolved around the characters in the game and when you helped them you got a better understanding of what their life was like. You could really develop a deeper emotional connection to the characters in Majora's Mask which is probably why I like it more than many of the other Zeldas.
Minigames aren't really all that important to me, I really don't find much enjoyment out of them unless they're story related. I never got into the fishing, the shooting gallery bored me and the bombchu bowling annoyed me alot. I'll rarely visit the minigame shops mostly because I see nothing useful coming out of them. The game does try to draw you in by making some minigames give you items such as a bigger wallet or quiver but if I can make due with the amount of items I start off with, I see no need to get a bigger holder. The only minigame that I really got a kick out of was the postman game in Wind Waker and the Yeti/Yeta game in Twilight Princess.

Re: Side quests & Mini-games
Yeah I am a big fan of the side quests and mini-games. They add alot of depth to the story when they are done correctly, such as with Majoras' Mask, where the characters were given alot more, well, character!!
Also things like Golden Skulltulas add to the lifespan of the games, forcing you to revisit completed dungeons and search every nookand cranny of the overworld.

Re: Side quests & Mini-games
I like side quests and mini-games. Especially if you want to get away from the main quest for a while, or if you just wanted to have something fun to do. I liked the sidequest to get Ice Arrows in OoT and I liked horseback archery in OoT. I also enjoyed fishing in TP. And all of the archery (without a horse) mini-games. I hope they include them in the next Zelda, and do something along the lines of the Cave of Ordeals and the quest to get Ice Arrows.
