Forging a Master sword
Here is the link to my long project. http://forums.swordforum.com/showthr...threadid=50444
Any feedback would be greatly appreciated. I am getting down to the fine details. I count on you Zelda scholars to help me out. Thanks, S. Last edited by Sahasrala; 10-20-2006 at 11:10 PM. |

Re: Forging a Master sword
Which Master Sword design are you drawing the bulk of the design for this one from? A Link to the Past? Ocarina of Time? The Wind Waker? Twilight Princess? Personally, I like the design and make of the ALttP or TP swords the best. The others seem so... artificial.
*edit--reads further* I'll be curious to see how the TWW handle turns out.

Re: Forging a Master sword
Interesting, I read a lot of your thread. The final result will be interesting.
By the way, your choice for your personal logo couldn't have been better. Anyway, according to your first post in the other thread, you said the sword was going to be a birthday gift for your daughter. However, it seems as if her birthday already passed by...twice, actually, unless I miscalculated. What are you going to do with the sword, still planning for it to be a birthday gift?

A lot has happened since that time. The sword sat in Washington for 9 months, idle. My wife put the kibosh on the b-day present. She said if I make one, I have to make one for them all. Although I don't mind a bit, it would take a few years since I have a day job. Custom swords are labor intensive. Soooo, The sword will belong to the "family" with my daughter as the "keeper" of the master sword. It's been a lot of fun so far. I hope to do it up right. |

Yes, because that would be fair. Ironically, life itsself is seldom fair.
I like the idea of making a real custom sword. |

If you have any questions, I would be happy to help you get started.Anyway, I started this thread to mainly ask you folks questions. Question; the design on the ricasso are on each side of the blade. What does it signify? I'm finding that a lot of the symbolism in the Zelda games comes form a wide mixture of folklore and legend. It's kind of interesting. I'm at the point now of etching it into the blade and was curious. Thanks, S. here is the design I'm taling about. The triforce is easy to distiguish, but what does th brackets on the side mean? It's one of the few consistant designs through many versions of the game. Thanks, S. Last edited by William Zelda4ever; 10-21-2006 at 09:21 PM. |
