fighting in zelda

I love the puzzle-solvong aspect in all zelda games, but wouldn't it be awesome if they eblelished on the fighting aspects of the game? maybe a wide assortments of weapons or a free-form fighting system? make it bloodier to. adds more drama

Re: fighting in zelda

Well, first off, this should go in general zelda. Second, if it was, then it would be M for TP.
Weapons:Check.
Puzzles:Why change?
Fighting aspects:Well, we would have to wait longer (Like Metroid Prime Hunters.)
Free Form Fighting:Would be sweet.
More blood:Are you stupid? NO.
Drama:Yeah, I would agre with you on that, but more laughter. No Adult-Like stuff, but Link lookin' at Zelda's Buttocks sure would be funny!

Thread moved to General Zelda.

Re: fighting in zelda

No, Blood= Bad. Unless its someone important dieing. Like when Ganondorf barfed it up. I love the style of fighting. You don't have to wait for your turn and stuff. It would be cool if there where more funny junk in there, but yes, adult humor would kill it...

Re: fighting in zelda

Blood: NO, not Zelda, its epic style appeals to a wide audience blood would wreck it.
Humour: Yes, but not adult humour. maybe older humour, but nothing unappropriate.
More Weapons: yes i would like to use all kind of weapons - SWORD OF MANA style!
Free form fighting: if this is street fighter/Tekken style, then no. if you want do do this with link play SuperSmash Bros Melee.

Re: fighting in zelda

Blood in Twilight Princess would defiantly not be good. Not in any Zelda game for that matter. It's not GTA, it's a Zelda game. Zelda games are always "Rated Teen" if you will. They're not supposed to be filled with bloody and nonsense like that. It would ruin the whole game.

More weapons, sure. But Link should deviate from his sword. There's always a good range of weapons in Zelda games. Especially if you look at the most recent ones. But I don't think it's a great idea expand the arsenal with crazy stuff that may look neat but serves no function.

Re: fighting in zelda

Hey, OoT had blood. Remember in the well in some of the rooms there was blood on the floor? There was a room like that in the Shadow Temple too. And when Barinade died, he broke out in warts and exploded into a mound of green blood. It wouldn't hurt if TP had something like those things.

And I think the fighting style in the Zelda games should stay as it is. I don't see why it should be changed. Though more weapons would be nice.

Re: fighting in zelda

Well, what I was thinking is more weapon upgrades. Like the bow could be upgraded, slingshot could be upgraded, the sword could be upgraded at least a couple times (this was only done in ALttP as far as I know) and of course I don't want to see Link using an ax or a staff. Link using...what was it called? Numchucks or something like that. It's the same weapon Maxy uses in Soul Calibur II. Link using a weapon like that would be cool. I'd prefer more weapon upgrades, though.

Re: fighting in zelda

Blood, hmm...not like flying out when you cut them, maybe a slash mark from where to cut them or something.

Maybe not blood but bruses or raggy clothing when close to death, you know to show they are actualy losing the fight and becoming weaker. It gets a little odd when you don't know how much health (HP) the boss/enemy has left. Yes it adds tesion when you don't know how long you have to fight this guy for but can be anoying (EG....Mario & Luigi Partners In time for DS....i **** you no i was fighting that last boss for like 6 WHOLE HOURS!!!!!....argh I nearly threw the game at the wall when she JUST WOULDN"T DIE! lol)

Free form, never though of it like that, I don't think tekin style would be good......But if Link could fight in TP like he does in Super Smash bros. Melee.....*drools*...OMG would that just kick ass!.

Hmm drama.... yeh i think zelda has its fair share of humor type (like when Link got shot threw the sky in the barrol in TWW LOL classic....and in TWW when you put them three pearls in place and Link got blown up hahah never forget that, i laughed till i cry'd)

Re: fighting in zelda

Personally, I think that they've already been adding enough of a combat aspect to the game. In WW, there was a large variety of moves to choose frome, and plenty of dastardy dodges, and vicious stabs and all. Though I wouldn't mind if there was a slightly greater weapon selection.

Re: fighting in zelda

I agree with most of the users in this topic, that zelda is already perfect. Only thing I would like to see in TP, is more swords, like in oot.

I agree. A little blood is fine, but I'm not talking about everytime you hit someone blood flys everywhere... It's fine the way it has been... Like you said... In the shadow temple of OOT... It had blood, but just to raise the supense and create the scene...
I think it's great to hold it all up to the last point, you know how in some OOT versions ( I have this one) when Ganondorf caughs up blood at the end... That's fine... But too much blood would kill Zelda!

The fighting styles are fine, I like it! And the z targeting does help!
So in short... Blood in Zelda... NO. Not too much....
