More Zelda shows

We al know the old Zelda cartoons, how crappy and dumb they were, but I'm ythinking that they should make more, but not crappy animation, I'm talking about CG shows. Think about it, realisity (if that's even a word) is kind of what people are interested in now. I mean, I heard that Advent Children was incredibly realistic and when I looked at some screenshots, they blew me away. Here are some now:

So here's what I'm saying. Have a whole series (preferably somewhere from 110-175 ep.) about The Legend of Zelda. To me, this seems like a great idea, but of coarse, the appearance isn't everything. There are also another element and that's the voice acting and most importantly, the plot. The plot shouldn't be a copy of any of the Zelda games, meaning no gathering of treiforce peices, no sages, and no gathering of
Din/Nayru/Farore items. Me, I have in mind of a war (and not the imprisoning war). An underground (not literally) war. After a few posts, I'll put up a plot well sumarized plot that I'm twidling with in my mind. Please give me your coments and vote in the pole.

Re: More Zelda shows

If they did it right, and it was supervised by Nintendo, then I'd be all for it!

Re: More Zelda shows

If I see another anime centered around seeking out a number of identical magical artifacts for the duration of the series, I'm going to storm TokyoPop HQ with an army of chainsaw-wielding, zombified, old, french ladies. Agarello! On the other hand, it just wouldn't be Zelda without the wonderful Zelda mysticism. You can't neglect the goddesses and the Triforce, dude. That's like making a movie about Jesus that doesn't involve Christianity. It's blasphemy!

CGI? Ehh...I dunno, it sounds iffy to me. Square was lucky to get FFVII: AC right, especially in the voice-acting section. I'm shocked they did so well. Perhaps a healthy mix of anime with CG-enhanced graphics would be nice. Miyazaki-style.

Hmm, I guess that's true, but I never said get rid of the Triforce, just get rid of the quests for the Triforce of Courage/Wisdom. I think of it as a the regular people living their lives, but unknowingly have secretive things involving Ganondorf happen while they are fast asleep in their homes. That sort of thing.

Like Ghost in the Shell.

Back on topic.

If they were to make a Zelda show it'd have to have a powerful plot, really emotional scenes (as long as they aren't cheesy like most anime stuff), and comical moments. After all, if there isn't anything at all funny, isn't it dry?

Re: More Zelda shows

Zelda doesn' suit a series, it would require a movie.

A Zelda show would have to be epic, epicness involves a flowing, ever-changing storyline and action, you can't achieve that in a series.

Imagine what LotR would have been like if it was a series on TV.

Re: More Zelda shows

I'd love to see an animated Zelda movie, then a cartoon series made from it (not like the old crappy one). And Link must talk. I've always wanted to hear him say something.

Though I'd prefer a Zelda movie/show to be animated, CG is okay too. But definitely not live acting. If they made an official live action Zelda movie/show, I'd pull my hair out. It would most likely look ugly.

Re: More Zelda shows

If they made a Zelda show, it would have to be much better than Advent Children. And I don't mean graphic-wise.

Re: More Zelda shows

I voted "probably not" knowing how often it's a failure when VG franchises go outside of the VG world and in the worlds of the TV and the movies. I have to admit though, Advent Children was really good. I also know that the little Star Wars: Clone Wars animated mini-series was good too, at least I thought so, even with the crazy looking animation. Having a series or even just a mini-series could be really cool and informative, as long as it done very well, not like those VG-based shows you see on Fox TV on Sat. mornings. (YUK!)

You know, before proposing something you have to learn about it.

Final Fantasy - Advent Children was a movie not a series, doing that kind of sharp Computer Graphics Image (GCI) on a daily or weekly basis for about 20 minutes it’s a really hard and expensive work. Find out how much FF-AC cost to Square-Enix taking on count the fact that it just lasted an hour and fifteen to twenty minutes, I don’t remember very well. Then divide the cost by 3 and then you’ll have the amount of money that one the episodes will cost.

There’re other ways it can be done in a faster and cheaper way, but they’ll look like Max Steel, Beast Wars, etc. And to be honest I do not want a Zelda TV series to look like that.

In resume, I don’t really oppose to the fact of having a Zelda TV series, what I don’t like is having it with the technology we have now a day, maybe in some near future, like 2010 or so.

Yeah, it'd probably look something like this:

Wow, I didn't know that, butg as we know. The further we go into the future, the less expensive thing will get. So hopefully, by the time it's 2009/2010, it'll be slightly less expensive and Nintendo can make the series. Also about that daily/weekly working thing, that's why I was thinking of about them first showing about 10-30 people the first episode of the series and if say... 22 people like it, they'll immideately(sp?) start making shows. That way, after a few months of making the shows they'll be hopefully around 70% done. So when the done shows have aired to about 50%, they'll be done. See what I'm saying'?

Re: More Zelda shows

Consider how long it takes to make a Pixar movie. It usually takes them 3-4 years, maybe more to make one. True, they are the best and they make sure everything is perfect, but it's still a long time for just 2 hours. That's why I think a mini-series would be better, no more than ten shows. Still, a Zelda mini-series would be expensive and take a huge time to make, and we know it would have to because have to be good, nay wonderful to get the full support of the Zelda fans. If Nintendo were to do this, they would have to do it very well, or it'll be about as good as any other VG-based show or movie, and we all know how good those tend to be.

Re: More Zelda shows

If they made a full-length series, we wouldn't get any games for awhile, that's for sure, CG or no CG.
