WW and OOT Map
Have you noticed that certain parts like Death mountain and Dragon Roost Island, if you compare the two maps from both OOT and WW, are in round about the same place? But if thats right, why is it that Link's island is located over the area where Lake Hylia would be?

Because when the Gods flooded hyrule, they also raised large rock spires to later form islands for the selected peoples of Hyrule. You can see this when your under the sea, large steep roc spires.

Well, you see Death mountain = tall, so it rises above the water, but Lake Hylia is low, so it would have been complety flooded.
