Timeline Questions
I have been keeping an eye on the Nintendo forums, and I found something interesting in this week's edition of Ask the Old Man (Answered by TSA). Here is a direct quote:

Re: Timeline Questions
Yes I do; they were zelda, after all. When (if) Nintendo releses the time line, I'm also sure that they'll be in re-makes (better grafics, better play, not just converted into a gameboy game) so that a wider public will understand it. As to the ancient stone tablets, when, where and what are you talking about? Which game?

Re: Timeline Questions
In TSA's first timeline theory, she includes Ancient Stone Tablets after a Link to the Past.
I don't consider the CD-I games part of the timeline because Nintendo had absolutely no say in them. Phillips was the sole producer, and only obtained the rights because they were planning on either merging or something of the sort, but then they both backed down. They made them just to get more popularity for their CD-I systems. The Oracle games were made by Capcom, but Nintendo did have a say in what they could and couldn't do... |

Re: Timeline Questions
I have never accepted them as canon and judging by how poorly they were received(and still are immensely frowned upon), I don't think Nintendo would welcome them with open hands to incorporate into the main storyline either. It was just a very ill fated attempt by Nintendo to collaborate with Phillips. While you could argue that is very shallow thinking, I think they just do not seem to fit in with the rest of the series. I don't know what much else to say.

Re: Timeline Questions
While I would include them in the timeline (they are zelda games afterall) there would be no means as to how one could, or would prove that their desired placement is true.

Re: Timeline Questions
I do not believe that the cd-i games count, Nintendo doesn't seem to count them. They even said when the collector's edition came out *With the help of the nintendo gameboy player, it is now possible to play every zelda game on your nintendo gamecube.* Since the cd-i games can't be played on your gamecube, I'm assuming nintendo does not count them as canon.

Re: Timeline Questions
I do, it happens after the real games end. I count my games in the time lines, this is a big YES.
