Re: Is Link a dirty fighter?

Well, you see, in Twilight Princess, Link has a new finishing move. It's nothing too new. Whenever you knock an enemy on its back, you can use a move on it that will kill it, no matter how much health it has left. What Link does is pretty much just his down strike, where he jumps up and drives his sword into an enemy. It looks really cool, actually. Just watch the second trailer and you'll see him use it on that giant spider.

Re: Is Link a dirty fighter?

The finishing move is when Link jumps up and stabs the sword into his enemy. You might know it as the "downward thrust". It only works on downed enemies.
technically in world war 1 and 2 they taught the exact opposite of what you just claim. It is much more expensive to treat a horribly injured person then it is to replace them. It was a strategy in the war to use gas attacks that put troops in hostpitals and force the government to reroute their funds to treat them. It would be kind of funny to see Ganondorf acting as a field medic whenever you leave a screen treating those that you didn't quite kill.
Re: Is Link a dirty fighter?

the downward thrust was first seen in AoL, then in SSB(M), then in TMC, and now we see it as a pretty awesome finishing move in TP, so really, theres nothing new, making sure that your enemy is dead is not dirty at all, just smart.

Eh? Where does it suggest that Hyrule is that specific enough to get 600s and 700s? At any rate, morality is a value of a chivalry so I know where you're coming from. But again, the code can be a little unspecific/bended at times. Well, I would think. Theres not exactly a set one, is there? I know I've never heard of it. Maybe except the actual orders such as the Tectuonic(sp?) Knights but meh.

Re: Is Link a dirty fighter?

I do agree with you but I feel it is more of a 'Rub it In' move. Come on, if the enemies could talk (I am familiar with the enemy's weird voice but I mean a real language) and Link beat them up (badly) then he would probably shout "Quit it!" in a sad voice. That is my philsophy on how enemies feel when getting beaten up (or killed) by Link. But to answer your question, Link isn't a dirty fighter; he is more of an annoying one! (from an enemy's point of view, that is. I find Link cool)

Yes. And when it comes down to it, you control Link. You can choose not to press the Parry button or the Finish button. I still will, but I guess fighting aint made to be clean.

Well, have you listened to the poor little Deku scrubs? They ask Link to stop, and he does, since they pleaded for mercy. That, and it's not like a little Deku could pull out a knife and chuck it at Link. But, yes, if they could be understood, then they would probably beg for mercy.

That's true, if someone begs for mercy Link does give it to them. He doesn't pull out his sword and slaughter them like Gannon would. Link is a good guy.

Re: Is Link a dirty fighter?

I don't think Link is related to the Knights of Europe so he doesn't fight "honorably." If you were fighting a moblin would you fight honorably? I think not. Nintendo is just improving and adapting the fighting style in Zelda games.

Re: Is Link a dirty fighter?

Well, it's not considered being a dirty fighter, just getting by however you can.
I mean, if they wanted it to be completely fair, they would make it like Mortal Kombat, and you both start out..and are ready. I would'nt like it like that.(don't get me wrong though, mortal kombat is really awesome, but this is an adventure game..not really a fighting game) Like someone mentioned in here, he is just getting better/smarter with his fighting skills. I think it's really awesome the way they are adding that.
In my opinion, it would'nt be considered a dirty fighter.

Well, I noticed that some of you people are getting mad at this, so let me say something. I PERSONALLY DON'T CARE HOW LINK FIGHTS. I just made an observation, and put it up for intelligent disscusion, and it turned into a flame war. Mods, could you please lock this? It's clear that no-one thinks that Link is a dirty fighter. Point un-proven.

No, he's not a dirty fighter but even if he was, the enemy's aren't exactly playing fair either.

Re: Is Link a dirty fighter?

Dirty fighting is for orginized "sports" like boxing.

If I were facing 4 darknuts then without a doubt I'd be "dirty"

Whatever it takes to win, Link is a survivor... not a victom.
