Fan Games

I have read a lot of threads on Zelda games made by fans, but the truth is, I have yet to see a finished one. Most games I've seen have only been in demo, or beta (Not that that is bad, that is way farther than I could ever get).

I created this thread basically to have a catologe of fan games, their progress, their eta (super estimated) realse date, and their home page. I just thought instead of having a bunch of small threads, it would be easier to have one big one.

Also if you have demo's/beta/completed versions, post them directly here so that people don't have to go scrambling through you site to find them (I can't find it half the time).

Also (again) if you have made mods for other games (ie:halo, half life 2, doom 3) like the imfamous Zelda OoT mod for halo (www.projectzeldaonline.com). Post it here also!













By the way, if you need a beta tester, i'll be glad to lend my hand in assistance

I'm thinking about making a 3-D one. But I'm not sure yet. It'll take a lot of time and effort, but I've already got the main story down. I'll share it with you if you'd like.

Sure, that's what this thread is about, I really wanted to attract the major players (ie. OoT 2D (as my siggy suggests) and OoT 3D fan game) but anyone is welcome!

Actually, I do need some help. I'm not much of a modeller; can someone please get me a 3-D model of Young Link in 3-D Studio Max? I'd really appreciate it and give you credit.

1. Gerudo thieves, including those red guard ones off of OOT
2. Gorons
3. Kokiri
4. Random people
5. Hylian Soldiers
6. Princess Zelda herself!

If you want to, I can give you credit. If not, well, oh well. I could also use some help with Gamemaker 6.

Hmmmmmm sounds like an interesting idea, but you can only go so far when creating your own Zelda game, I think the whole project is not supposed to be taken seriously, and should be treated as a pastime, rather than a job. The reason for this is that you can never really expect to make any real money out of this, if you want a game like this PUBLISHED, then you have all that copyright mumbo-jumbo.

some fan games are harder/longer to make, so it takes more time. it might also depend on the age group (since a good number of people are in school). im thinking about making a fan game this summer! :p

Technolink, you could catalog the links in the first page. That way it would be eaasier...

Hey Sothien! You probably know me as metroid-sama-san. Anyway, back on-topic, I played the Zelda RPG game, and died in about 30 sec.

Fangames are popping up all over the Internet at the moment. You do need to be careful with them though, as if Nintendo decides to take a disliking to it, you can be sued for breach of Intellectual Property, as copyright for the use of the sprites. But it's not likely to happen.

I've never completed a fangame myself. I get too annoyed with the programs, and I don't have the time to learn C++ or Java fully to create a reasonable engine before coding the actual game.

Yeah I need all this because I'm making 2 Zelda games right now. One of them is about the war before OOT, and the other one is called: LoZ: The Blood Gate. Both are being made by me on Gamemaker 6 and I could defanantly use some help with getting the sprites to have the different looks when they move and make Link's sword swipe when you press space. All people who help will get credit in the credits and before the game begins on the title screen. Please I really need some serious help!
