How does anybody know if they are a TRUE Zelda fan?

Hello ZU people,

I was quarreling with my friend on how someone knows that they are a Zelda fan. I said, "A true Zelda fan must own OoT, and the original Zelda game. Both on their appropriate systems. But mainly, not at how good you are at Zelda, just how much you beleive in the game. How you would do stuff for the game. To what lengths you would go to help out the game..." My friend said, "ah, phooey! A true Zelda fan must have every single Zelda game and they must have beaten them at least three times and found all of the secrets in the game. Do all that without the help of a cheat book and you are a true Zelda fan." Tell me your thoughts...

And here I was thinking that all you needed to do to be a true Zelda fan was to like Zelda.

A true zelda game should have fun in a game without just wanting to beat the game and not have fun.

I just think that you need to like the games and be informant on most of them...see those people that know every game from start to finish...well they have no lives and are one of them Zelda Freaks...the only game that I know real well is OoT and that is because it's my fav. and I have helped alot of my friends through it.

I'm not really into all these "hardcore" divisions and such. You're fan if you're a fan.

How many people have played and beaten as well as discovered all of the secrets in every zelda game 3 times? If that was what made you a true zelda fan, then you have a serious obsession with the games and should consult a doctor.

Someone who is not afraid to at least try the three heart challenge on OoT. (I almost did it, but I feel off a clif and died. -_______-)

Heheh, but what makes a true fan? Some one who just loves the game. You know, loves it. And you need to have some sort of respect for all of the games ... not saying you had to have beaten all of them, good lord there are quite a few.

I think your a true Zelda fan if you get that nostaligic feeling when you beat Ganon or some bad dude. No body can really tell. I dont think there are many "posers" (i dont like that word..its annoying) out there ... considering you either have played the games or you havent.

Your friends expectations of a true fan suck.

I'll consider you hard core if you've gained access to TSA's private forums. He only picks worthy adversaries so it's quite an honor.

I agree with DekuQueen. You have to have a certain love for all the games, and you have to truly understand and realize how much work went into all of them. If you love the series, then you are a true fan. It's automatic.

You should respect the individual players who have put so much work into playing the games.
People have spent roughly 25,000 hours (3 complete years) speed running Ocarina of Time.

To be a true fan of the game you just have to love it! There is no need to play it three times in a roll or be able to beat it in one day. You just have to like it, thats all.

You do NOT need to worship OoT to be a true Zelda fan. To be a true Zelda fan, you must *warning, corniness* believe Zelda is in your heart. It's what the inside holds that decides whether you are a true Zelda fan or not.

A true Zelda fan may not have played to all Zelda games, but he'll like to play the same game over and over again. He'll also love the whole storyline. A true Zelda fan may see the legend of Zelda not only as a serie of great games, but also as a story full of real-life philosophy.
