Smile Rmember that day when you played your first Zelda game?

Hello Once Again ZU people!!
In this post, I want to hear what Zelda game became someone's first Zelda game. What age you were, and what you thought of Link when you first saw him.
Me? Oh, I was 5 or 6, my parents wouldn't let me have a Nintendo console, so I went to my friends house to play his console instead. Little did I know that OoT had just come out. So, my friend being a Zelda fan (he's not anymore) had the new game all ready for us to play. Of course, I was completely fasinated by Link. I thought he looked SO awesome with his sword and hookshot. I also thought that he looked like the ideal hero. Broad chested. Fearless. Tough. Courageous. i now congragulate the Nintendo OoT developers endlessly for creating such a perfect hero and game. I, at the time thought that that was the ONLY Zelda game created. Boy, was I wrong!
Since then, 10 years have passed, and boy! Whatta 10 years!!!! In those ten years, I received my very own GBC, with Oracle of Seasons. MY FIRST ZELDA GAME TO OWN!!! After the GBC, I received the N64, SNES, GBA and GCN. Zelda games I own now? I own a big collection. I proudly own: LOZ, AOL, ALTTP, OoT, MM, OOS, OOA, TWW, and FSA. I basically own all the major ones. Although I am agianst cel-shaded art, TWW got in the mix somehow. I've also covered my room at my dads house with Zelda stuff. Posters, stickers, games, clocks...you name it!
I don't like to boast, I just like to tell people about my fandom about Zelda. So, please reply and say the first Zelda game you played. And if you want, tell me about your Zelda collection. Thanx!!

Sincerely,
LOZelda64

Re: Rmember that day when you played your first Zelda game?

Hmmm, Christmas 1993, with my new SNES, and new Lttp, ahhh good times, played it endlessly.

That was the first time I got Zelda, but the first time I played Zelda was at my cousins place playing Loz, would of been about 4.

I was young, real young. But I kicked everyone's ass at video games back then.

I was playing OoT at a cousin's house. They thought it was dumb, (because they were too dumb to figure it out) but I saw the beauty in it.

Re: Rmember that day when you played your first Zelda game?

Oh man... I was like four or five and it took me days just to get to Gohma, which I was scared of! I remember just standing around Kokiri village chopping signs and trying to figure out how to get past Mido, someone actually said to me, "Stop chopping all his signs!"

Hahaha!

Great times, I was so young that I named my file miCHAEL by accident, and I still have it to this very day.

Good times, good times.

I remember when i first got "Majora's Mask." I had no clue as to what to do next so i remember i used to just run all over Termina and the moon always fell at the end because i didn't know how to play the Song of Time.

Re: Rmember that day when you played your first Zelda game?

I was 5 years old!I had a N64.I rent the OOT and played it...Actually the reason I loved it was that I couldn't find the Kokiri Sword and asked a big brother of a friend of mine.He lied to me several times.Ten or fifteen! He said to me that the sword was in this house in this box etc.So I kept renting the game to find it!And I found it one day!And I went to him and said:
"Let me tell you where the sword is,because you don't know."
And I told him...He left laughing and now I understand why...

...Why are you browsing "Zelda Universe" forums?

I honestly can't remember my first time playing Zelda. I think it was A Link to the Past at my neighbor's house, I was really young. I don't know how old I was.

Re: Rmember that day when you played your first Zelda game?

I think I was six or seven. OoT was the first game we had gotten for our N64 console which we got from my grandmother. Then I wasn't very good at it. I only got as far as beating Gohma and then I stopped playing for many years until I was ten I think and then I quickly got better and better, beating every boss in every dungeon easily until..until I got to Ganon. I couldn't beat him no matter how hard I tried and I stopped playing again until last summer(I'm now fourteen) when I decided to start playing again and just skip beating Ganon and start over. Then I decided to give it one more try at beating him. I was doing fine until I ran out of magic and I had to figure out a new way to attack Ganon. Then I came up with the idea of rolling between his legs to get behind him. It worked and I beat him. I was proud because it was the first video game I had ever beaten. I was ashamed of myself for not doing it a long time ago though.

Re: Rmember that day when you played your first Zelda game?

I was about to say that I had posted my first Zelda experience in another thread just yesterday, but I see Anarand has done that job for me. He's right. To avoid the ZU Forums to become inconvenient, use the search function before you start a new thread.

There's more than one forum here. I generally stick around the Chit Chat and Entertainment forums. When I started I liked Zelda, but I do not anymore.

I can remember my first zelda. My first zelda was Link's Awakening. I thought it was such an awesome game, and then my obsession began.

Why'd you stop liking it? I think they're some of the funnest games, but they need to try something new. Going through dungeons to get items in every Zelda game gets old. If they had light RPG elements... it could be better, for instance, if you run a lot instead of riding Epona, you could slowly see yourself getting faster (not by leveling up).

Re: Rmember that day when you played your first Zelda game?

Believe it or not, my parents wouldn't let me have ANY videogame systems untill I got a GameBoy Advance for Christmas, 2001. On March 23, 2002 on my 9th birthday I got LTTP\FS for my GBA I whanted it, I had played a demo version of at Toys "R" Us before then. I thought that those two games were the only games in the seiries, until the started making commercials for The Wind Waker.

Re: Rmember that day when you played your first Zelda game?

I was five years old. I remember it like it was yesterday... I played Majora's Mask first.
I had Ocarina of Time and Majora's Mask. I chose to play MM. That messed me up really bad, too. My timeline was ruined like crap from that point on...
Anyways, my dad played it so I played it. I would study every single thing he did very carefully and we he was done, I'd do the same thing on MY game. I remember I thought Link was the absolute COOLEST child ever. I was alittle weird, though. I would get TOO into the game and would just FREAK out when a monster came out. I got used to it, though. After playing OOT, I was extremely confused.
(Shouldn't have played MM first...) I had to go through everthing again before I fully understood the whole story line and all that. It was one of the awesomest things EVER playing a Zelda game. Now I've played. (By the way, by "playing" I meant the whole way through. I STARTED OOT when it came out and THEN I played MM when IT came out.) I think I'm confusing myself now...

Just got tired of the whole concept. I find myself not playing as many video games as I used to anyway.
