Challenges

Hi there. I am starting this thread to see what kinds of things other fans have thought of to make gameplay more difficult. If you post, please state a challenge, such as not getting any heart pieces in Ocarina of Time. Oh, thats a good one, have to try it out. Two from me are mentioned in my signature. What do you think?

This is a simple one:
Defeat Gyorg without losing any health.

Come on, you have to think harder! Most people can already do this without even trying! Now, beat the Doppelgangers without losing any health, that's hard. No, we need challenges that are done throughout the entire game, not things like beating the boss we're no good at without losing any health. Those are just too easy. We need something to test our skills until Twilight Princess comes out. Where can I find someone who can make me a little picture like that for my signature? I want a Deku Scrub!

Let me extend Da Bee's challenge by challenging you to defeat tMC's Gyorg Pair untouched.

Here is one: do a 0:55 battle with Big Green ChuChu. It is most definitely possible, as I have done it myself. ZD has a video guides section, and I do all the tMC stuff there. Watch me do the 0:55 battle Here. Timing starts from the second you gain control in the battle and ends the second you give the killing blow. Oh, and no, I did not add the text flashes. Some stupid guy who uploads the stuff added that. I am going to have to get some software of my own and re-upload it at proper size and content. >.<

Edit: Master, I hope my Boss Challenge isn't too easy for you. Oh, and the server is down right now for ZD, so you may have to wait a while before you can watch the video.

I don't know if it's possible, but here goes.
Do the water temple (OoT) without using the blue tunic.
It might be possible. You would have to keep popping up for air, but, well, try it, see if it is possible.
Also, do the Shadow Temple without the Lens of Truth.
That can be done, it's very hard, but possible.

It is possible. It's been done, and you don't have to keep coming up for air. You can beat the Fire Temple without the Goron Tunic, too. Hell, you can even get into the Fire Temple without talking to Link the Goron, or even getting the Goron Tunic at all.

Also, do the Shadow Temple without the Lens of Truth.
That can be done, it's very hard, but possible.

That reminds me. Go through Haunted Wasteland without the Lens of Truth. Do the Haunted Wasteland BACKWARDS, for that matter. Hell. Do the whole game without the Lens of Truth. It's been done.

Sorry, I go to a speed running forum, so that may be why these challenges seem a little overbearing. I could go on and on.

How is it possible to beat the Fire Temple without the Goron tunic?
I thought since it was in Death mountain Crater, you needed the tunic in all rooms. I mean, I don't think it's possible to do the Fire Temple in a few minutes.

Here's a REALLY good one from WW:
trying to get in and out of Fire Mountain and Ice Ring Circle before 4:00:00 and not getting fried or frozen!

You don't need the Tunic in all rooms, only a few. The rooms that ARE too hot can be done fast enough, before the timer runs out. This will take a little explaining, as I knew it would. The Timer is based on how much health you have. For each quarter heart, you get two seconds. If you are at full health [which you should be], and had gotten all the Heart Containers up until the Fire Temple, you will have 56 seconds each time you enter a hot room. Every room except for Volvagia can be done in under 56 seconds. Volvagia takes just under two minutes. For this you need a fairy. When you die, the fairy will bring you back to full health, giving you another 56 seconds, just enough time to finish the battle and end the Temple.

It is exactly the same thing with the Water Temple, except the timer is for underwater rooms, rather than hot rooms.

Ooh, I hate Gyorg! He's the worst boss ever. I don't like the way you have to defeat him... *shudders*

Here's another simple one, yet kind of generic, considering my predecessors...

Defeat all three Majora forms (Mask, Incarnation, Wrath) without using a single potion, or magical aid! Ouch... that would be really hard, considering Majora's Wrath's whips...

Wow, that seems a bit difficult.(OoT challenges) Maybe if you did these in addition to the Lens of Truth thing we would have a pretty tough challenge. Those Majora's Mask challenges are easy. I don't even have to try to do those. Any of you have a challenge for A Link to the Past? PLEASE! I NEED A CHALLENGE!

okey dokey then heres a ALTTP one for you:
I want you to complete the game with 3 heart contains and hylian shield with blue mail and lv2 master sword. You can do it right?

go to the challenge thread..... theres been alot of this talked about already... but hey ill join in... try beating the zelda games with only 3 hearts (this has prob been said, but its worth saying again)... now thats a challenge.

Here are two for LA-

1. Beat the game with a toadstol in your pocket. (I'm not sure how possible it is)

2. Grab the gameowner guy with the cranegame crane. I have seen it done before.

I've done the two no tunic challenges and they are fun and challenging. The no lense of truth challenge for the shadow temple though is extrordinarily easy, in fact, I can't even remember the last time I used it, (There is one moving invisible platform in the temple and a couple invisible hookshot targets, if you already know where everything is it doesn't change the difficulty at all.)

Here's a toughy that I've only done once. Beat the game without taking any points of damage, if you do start over (be VERY careful with the falling rocks while escaping Ganon's castle)

Okay, about that ALttP challenge with the three hearts, it can't be done. You have to pick up the heart containers that bosses drop. Unless, of course, their is a glitch in which you don't. Good challenge though, it'd take me a while. But you could go through without saving or picking up any bottles or heart pieces. (except maybe the one on spectacle rock, most people grab that one by accident) I haven't even done this yet. It is actually a lot harder than you would think.
