Re: Have you ever thought, why Ganondorf...
Well, although it is called the Triforce of Power, I don't think it is 'stronger' than any other piece. I do agree that if Ganon had taken Link seriously he would have killed him when he was watching the Princess escape with Impa in front of Hyrule Castle, instead of just using a bolt of magic to stun him.

Re: Have you ever thought, why Ganondorf...
Well, with all Zelda games, I believe you're to assume that Link and Ganon do not know one another, so Ganon doesn't know that he should fear Link- the only exception would be with sequels. In most sequels, however, Ganon is not able to attack Link for some reason or another. In AoL, Link must die before Ganon can be revived; In the Oracles, Veran and Onyx must die for Ganon to be revived; It is like this for all Zelda sequels except for TWW. In TWW, however, Link is not the Hero of Time, and thus poses no threat to Ganon, who has the Triforce of Power. In the final fight, Ganon defeats Link and Zelda and gains their Triforce pieces. I believe that the only reason the Hero of Winds defeated Ganon was because the King wished for Link and Zelda to have a future... and that Ganondorf would drown with Hyrule as the gods destroyed it.

Re: Have you ever thought, why Ganondorf...
Imagine what the ending would have been like then, it would be a real twist from the cheery nature of Wind Waker. I just fret at the thought of Hyrule and the new land WW link is from would look like once Ganon took complete control over. It was bad enough in OOT. Maybe Ganon was planning to do something other than destroy Hyrule after all he could have used the Triforce to restore his home land and forget all the troubles of his past.

Re: Have you ever thought, why Ganondorf...
I agree that Ganon, knowing that Link was not the Hero of Time, believed that Link could not defeat him. Though I have to disagree on one thing. Link and Zelda still would have defeated Ganon if he had taken them seriously, though they may have had a bit more trouble.

Re: Have you ever thought, why Ganondorf...
Hmm I didn't mean that Link couldn't get any help from people (like the king) but that Ganon would take him seriously. And of course, it would be too surreal if a ten-year-old Link defeated Ganon. I just think it would be fasinating to see (just for example) that Ganon would try to haunt Link when he is a baby or something... :}

But he still managed to take several light arrows on the chin and flatten Zelda. Quote:
But give the guy some credit--he needed someone to pull the Master Sword and had been about to execute Link when Zelda, the Rito and Valoo rescued him. After that, well, he had thought he'd taken the necessary precautions, having ripped the very spirits out of the two sages that powered the only weapon that could stop him. Later, he kidnapped Zelda and basically used her as a lure so he could gather all the Triforce bearers on a battlefield of choosing. This, as we know, worked great, because he kicked Link's ass and got the whole Triforce. It was only the inexplicable intervention of Hyrule's undead king that spoiled things for him. So, actually, Ganondorf was pretty flawless in his planning despite everything. His one mistake was, well, not tagging the Triforce fast enough, I guess. I've got to admit, it's an error I probably would have made myself. Just where the hell did Daphnes come from, anyway? And where did he go after he had made his wish, come to that? |

Re: Have you ever thought, why Ganondorf...
that's word, gannondorf always underestimated link threw out the whole game in ocarinaof time that's why in the wind waker gannondorf wus a little harder, because he knew that link was nice n beast in fighting so he thought link's decendant was gonna be nice so never underestimated link from w.w.

Re: Have you ever thought, why Ganondorf...
Ganon is the Dark Lord, he just doesn't sit there waiting for Link to come around to him. He has to manage the troops, make sure they are happy, keep them on his side. Link however he is just a one man/boy army, all he has to worry about is, is his own behind and ocassionaly others, the people are going to be on his side because he is their only hope. In some games Ganon doesn't think much of Link because Link is just a child, sometimes Ganon does things just to lure Link to him. He knows that Link will have to go through great depths to get the items to get into his castle, and there is a chance that during this time one of the Palace/Dungeon guardians may get lucky and kill Link.
