The Caverns of Time are an as-of-yet unimplemented extension of the series of quests involving... yes...

Everyone's favorite green-clad gnome, Linken.

This is an epic, episodically structured quest that will take you to the furthest reaches of Azeroth, and through time itself.

Along the way, Linken will encounter his nemesis, the demon Malganin, and a beautiful troll princess, Zael'dahra, who has disguised herself as the Pirate Maiden Tett Rae.

A sidequest branch will also lead to a hunt in the ruins of Ahn'Qiraj for the Mask of the Old God Mah Joo-Rah, and a mystical wand called the Storm Sleeper.

All this adventure and heroism revolves around yet another fragment of the Golden Flame, a powerful ancient artifact that wields the power of the Titans themselves. It is Linken's fate to become the eternal guardian of this artifact, and it is up to you to ensure his ascension as the Protector of Time.

i love blizzard and worldofwarcraft but i don't want to play another zelda game if i wanted to i would buy a zelda game

What's going on is that Blizzard is throwing in references to Zelda. Just something for a laugh.

I don't play WoW, but I don't have a problem with it. Consider it a kind of salute towards Nintendo.

Yeah, I've done that quest in WoW, by the way, I LOVE THAT GAME!! play it!

People need to learn how to think up their own ideas. Seriously, people need to stop copying other people's brilliant ideas and think for themselves. I say Nintendo should sue for copyright infringement or something like that. This is just crazy. Everything is copied straight from Zelda! What did they do to Tingle, name him Teen Gul? Seriously, people need to stop doing things like this. I do understand that not every game company can hire a Miyamoto, but come on! Think up something of your own!

lol i was happy when i found out this quest... before the 1.7 - 1/8 patch my paladin was crap cuz it had no ranged stuff against other people besides undead NPCs... once I got Linken's Boomerang I was happy. I even loved the little parts of the quest with Aquamentus and the msg "easternmost peninsula is the secret"

It's just a funny little easter egg that most people get. Bllizzard put a lot of this type of this thing in the game.

I've seen references to Forrest Gump, I've seen the Loch Ness monster on the tram between Ironforge and Stormwind... there's other little things from other games thrown in the game too, but i just can't think of them all right now off the top of my head...

hey i've never heard about that "ma-joo'rah" quest... where do you pick that up? can you still do it even if you've completed the stuff for Linken's Boomerang?

Why are you so mad? They're just paying homage to the Zelda series. Which means that they like it. What's wrong with that?

Very interesting, I've seen Blizzard put out these 'easter eggs', if you want to call them that, and I like it. This time I think they went a little too far, and I bet most gamers in WoW never noticed that they "copied" Zelda.

What will getting Majoorah's mask in WOW do? They better not be basing it on Majora's Mask, because then it better be a quest item that you have to give to Link.
