Question Hero of...

Just how many heros are there??? Something interesting came to my attention while playing Zelda earlier today... Just how many Link's or Heros are there??? Of coarse we have the Hero of Time, but we also have the Hero of Winds from the Wind Waker... This raises the question...

How many different versions of Link are there???

Re: Hero of...

There are a few, which are all of them, I think. If there are any more, I am happy to know.

Hero of Light (A link to the Past)
Hero of Wind (Wind Waker)
Hero of Time (Ocarina of Time)

There are lots of different versions of Link. They can be found in Zelda Universe's Timeline section of the site. According to that, there are 4 Links. The 5th Link is surely the one in Twilight Princess.

On the back of the FSA box, it asks "who will be the true Hero of Light?".

Which is a theory of which the ALTTP Link can be the same as the FSA Link(s).

Re: Hero of...

For the first two zelda games, I think he is just called the Hero of Hyrule. There is also hero of seasons and hero of ages from the oracle games.

Re: Hero of...

I would also like to mention that Link was also refered to as the Hero of Destiny at one point... correct me if I am wrong.

Is Link the general name for the hero in The Legend of Zelda or is Link the same person in every game??? Can someone explain this???

There are different Links in the Zelda series. To sort them out, each Link is given a different "Hero of" title. For example, the OOT and MM Link is ranked "Hero of Time".

Re: Hero of...

I thought so, I knew that Link: The Hero of Time was the same in MM as in OoT, because it said so in the story line, but others can get confussing. LOL, although, WW specifically tells you that the "hero" did not rise again and Hyrule was no more, BUT you do save it in the end so all is well ^^

Re: Hero of...

I'm guessing that Twilight Princess can have the Hero of Animals, since you can talk to animals. This is just a guess...

Re: Hero of...

Honestly, from what I have heard, it is the same Link OoT... Because if you recall, Zelda sent him back to regain his lost time... He then set out to find Navi and instead saved the world in MM... Supposedly it is two decades after OoT... He may still be the hero of time. I really don't know just yet... I have the game paid for... I just have to go and get it when it comes out.

Re: Hero of...

If the TP Link is the same as the OOt and MM Link, then he is the Hero of Time. Whether the story takes place 2 or 5 decades after OOT, the OOT Link is still able to be a hero. I don't know why there should be two heroes in the same generation.

Re: Hero of...

Yeah, I agree. I like to think my head is for more than just breaking into peanuts.

OoT/MM: Hero of Time
WW: Hero of Wind
OoA: Hero of Ages
OoS: Hero of Seasons
ALttP: Hero of Light
TMC: There was one, but I forget what they called him
LoZ: Hero of Hyrule
FSA: Hero of Light (for the MVP) or Darkness (LVP)

Re: Hero of...

Ok, this thread needs some summarising.
As far as I know there are only two widely used hero titles for Link.
OoT/MM: Hero of Time
WW: Hero of Winds
There are other hero titles, but those are the big ones. (Although the Hero of Light is mentioned, as far as I remember, in every game.)
There is, however, more then one Link. Depending on your timeline the number varies from 2 to 11.
The commonly accepted division of Links (Note: NOT a timeline) is this:
OoT/MM
WW
aLttP
OoA/OoS/ maybe LA
LA (If not OoA/OoS Link)
tMC
FS
FSA
LoZ/AoL

Which Link is in TP or if it's a new one is currently unknown.

You know... If TP takes place 10 years after OOT, then the OOT and TP Link are one in the same, because OOT Link is 7 and TP Link is 17.

Re: Hero of...

THank you so much for thew summary, it does help this thread ^^

BUT...
If there is a Link for each Zelda or the same for only a couple... You'de think they would just call him the Hero of Legends or something to that extent

Re: Hero of...

I had never really thought of that before. The only ones I noticed were Hero of Time (OoT/MM) and Hero of Winds (WW). It had never occured to me about the other ones. Hmmmm.
