Re: Zelda cosplay

I wouldn't do cosplay for anything... The most I would do is put a darth vader helmet on, but that isn't Zelda, now is it.

Re: Zelda cosplay

Some cosplays are really good. Though everything todo with Zelda is just really dumb.

I mean you have to get pointy ears and get a really bright Green tunic... and a platic sword. And you just look really stupid.

I dred even seeing some images online of Zelda cosplay.... O_o

Re: Zelda cosplay

Have you ever heard of pikmin link? He is a person who dresses up exactly like Zelda characters, down to the last smidge of perfection. He even has the new twilight princesss costumes. (I have dressed up as Link before, and I must say it was very fun. Esepcially threatening people who wanted to touch my pointed ears)lol...

Re: Zelda cosplay

I've never done Zelda cosplay before, and I probably never will. Although, I have thought about doing a Link costume for Halloween. It'd be based on how he looks in my fanfic *see sig*, where it's kind of a mix of his AoL and TP looks.

As for the Master Sword- my martial arts instructor knows how to make swords, and he knows a guy who cuts the parts for swords. I think I'm going to make a fully functional (sans evil banishing) Master Sword one of these days.

-IANVS

EDIT
I saw the September issue of Nintendo Power this evening, and it had some cosplay stuff, including a reference to that Pikmin Link guy. There was one person wearing a TP Link outfit, and I had to admit that it's one of the best if not the best Link costumes I've seen. Had the chainmail and everything.

Dressing up as a Deku Seed would be cool, you would just sit there, staring at people that walk past you.

Re: Zelda cosplay

Trust me, It took a loooong time to get a costume ready that I would wear. But when I was ready, I had a sword, shield and pointed ears. They were as lifelike as I could buy them...(sheepish) I know you're supposed to make it if you can, but I have to write my stories! (runs to fanfiction) I just loved wearing the hoop earings with my ears and the tights! They were fun too! (I sang Ymca once just for fun because it reminded me of the music video)

that

Cosplay is lame unless the person has a really kickass costume, I'm talkin' EXACT replica! But I think cosplays more for the anime crowd, and anime generally annoys me. And do you know what the irony is? America's younger generations are obsessed with Japanese culture without even realizing that the Japanese younger generations are obsessed with American culture! By the way, the guy who invented anime stole the look from old Disney cartoons. Which means that Americans invented anime and not the Japanese. Sooo shouldn't it be called Amerimation instead of Japanimation? Just a thought. And also, that pikminlink kid's daddy makes all his costumes for him. He doesn't make his own stuff.

Anime - underdrawn and overanimated cartoons with a dash of rediculous plotlines

What, here is a better definition of Anime: Stupid. Yet Zelda cosplays are not.

Re: Zelda cosplay

I have never dressed up. I plan to one day... I see nothing wrong with. It shows dedication and how big of a fan you are.
If I did it would have to be adult link. Might be difficult to accurately portray the Hero of Time. Nonetheless I think cosplay is an acceptable concept.

People thought that my 'Sheik' with black hair was really cool - of course I got some funny looks, but most people thought it was great!!
It was interesting getting on a bus though lol!

And just for the record - Pikmin Link is my Hero!!!
How does he make his swords and shields - and how did he make his fierce deity armour??

I'm bishounen, and my hair covers my face completely, so know one is the wiser loL!
Again, this could spark the 'is Sheik man or Woman' debate, but Sheik was meant to be a man, despite him being Zelda.

My costume's trousers are made of 'tough' jean like material, so it is not Skin tight, but gives of the 'anorexic ninja' look.
It looks a lot more masculine than OOT Sheik's! lol

Huh...sounds pretty cool. I think it takes a lot of work though, so I appreciate every costume, though some not as much as others.

I find cosplaying to be a bit odd, but that's just me. My comment to you: Let's stick with one gender, alright?

I like that quote. I'm gonna use that. Not right now; that would be redundant. Now if you all don't mind, I have to leave before my eyes accidentally happen to catch a .25 second-long glance at that pic again.

EVERYONE. Listen up!
I just deleted the whole "argument". If I see anymore of this behavior, this topic will be locked, and strikes will be given. In my opinion, I should have given strikes to about two or three different people, but I'm giving you all a VERY fair warning here.

If anyone has anything else to say about said "argument", then PM me please. Don't discuss it in this thread. Simple.

Re: Zelda cosplay

Wow, not a lot of cosplayers here...

Anyways, I'd absolutely LOVE to cosplay as Link sometime. I don't care if I'm a girl either, I'd do it anyways. I'd like to do it for Halloween, but if I could get to an anime convention somewhere, that'd be even better. I probably would never get the chance to cosplay Link though, because I have no idea on how to make a costume, and I can't sew well. I wouldn't worry about the sword, I would actually rather have the bow and arrow for the costume. It's my favorite weapon from the game, and I've never seen a cosplayer with one yet ^_^
