AoL theory

I have heard somewhere (but it probably is in the instruction book) that in AoL, they decided that all princesses in the royal family would be named Zelda.

This makes one belive it's the first part of Zelda. But there is a theory by me, which I belive to make sense.

In LoZ, which comes before AoL, whole Hyrule is just nature. You see humans, but you don't see a town, or houses. Just caves, bushes, tree's, lakes. So in some way, Hyrule must have been destroyed, maybe again.

So in this way, the royal family belives in AoL that they are the first kingdom, and decides somehow to name all the following princesses Zelda.

But I might be wrong, some part of the story may prove this...

No, I don't think that prove anything really. Maybe because some princesses already had been named Zelda(in the other games) they decided it would be a nice tratiion to follow up.

Besides, there are too many "proves" that OOT is the frist Zöeda game, and I think that is the way it is..

That is a good theory, but I don't even believe that Zelda 1 happened in Hyrule. However, I don't think there's any proving or disproving that has been done.

Well, In LoZ, Gannon's army did attack and maybe the reason why it is just nature is because the towns were destoryed and the people went into hiding. This explains why the caves had people in them.

Yeah, "The Adventure of Link" is the last game in the timeline...so far at least. In "The Legend of Zelda" Ganon attacked and destroyed Hyrule so that's why it looks the way it does, and in between "The Legend of Zelda" and "The Adventure of Link" Link helps rebuild Hyrule to the way it's seen in "The Adventure of Link". And some people think that the story told in the beginning about Zelda and the Magician who put her to sleep could be the Zelda from "A Link to the Past" and Agahnim. This would take place some time after "A Link to the Past"...the event of her being put to sleep that is.

Yeah, but Agahnim died. It could be his son or something, though.

Agahnim wasn't a real human being, just an alter ego of Ganon.

It's like Phantom Ganon... Only that Agahnim is stronger.

Well, it wasn't the events of AoL that made all the princesses be called Zelda... it is a legend told by Impa in the manual... supposedly happening a long time before the events of AoL. Now, this legend does not once mention Ganon/dorf, so it could have very much taken place before OoT.... just not the game. I mean, it is not like the royal family was first established at the beginning of OoT, was it?

You could be certainly right. I don't have the manual, so I don't know that much about it.

I'm pretty sure it says in game that it is in Hyrule. I think that it was Zelda from OoT that got put to sleep, in the time between OoT and the flood. Her tomb was lost beneath the sea and only found again at the time of AoL.
Yes, I know this is based on my own personal timeline theory, but please don't refute it with your own theories. I don't want this to turn into another timeline argument.

If it was Zelda from OoT, that means she would have had a brother. It isn't mentioned in the game, and I'm pretty sure it would be if OoT Zelda is supposed to be the sleeping one.
