Times Link talked, really

Can you think of any times when Link actually talked? In The Adventure of Link, when you find the mirror in the water town of Saria, Link proclaims he found a mirror. No one else is in the house, so it has to be him. A direct quote:

I FOUND A MIRROR UNDER THE TABLE.

In The Wind Waker, right after Aryll is kidnapped by the Helmaroc King on Outset Island, it shows Tetra saying:

So... you want to come with us on OUR ship?

and Link nodding, indicating that he did in fact talk to Tetra. There have been other times much like this throughout the Zelda games, as well.

In Ocarina of Time, after the Great Deku Tree dies, someone says:

Good-bye, Great Deku Tree....

It's hard to tell if it's Link or Navi. If I remember correctly, Link waves when the text appears... or maybe not.

actually in OOT it is Navi talking cause the text is in blue like all of the dialogs when Navi talks

and in WW link DOES NOT talk to tetra (nodding is body language)(he is not using his voice)!!!!!!!???!!! :mad:

No, the nodding indicates that he did talk before the cutscene began. There's been a lot of things like that, where Link talks but you don't hear him. Personally I wouldn't like it if he talked. :/

Exactly my point.

There was also in the wind waker when you call medli, makar or those statue things he says "come on"

Hey, when in TWW, you have to select yes or no by the way, not nod your head.

Plus, Link DID talk before without you choosing anything. Remember when you first meet Zelda in the courtyard in OOT? She asks your name, and in GREEN text, it says whatever you name is that you used, such as Link, or Hunter0isdabomb.

If you can't remember, then start a new slot and pay attention.

EDIT: Yes that statue thing is true. You actually hear him speak. I almost passed out when a saw this for the first time.

Then you obviously haven't played Majora's Mask or Ocarina of Time, where the characters talk with little emotional giggles and gasps or words, such as "Hello!" or "Ya!"

Well yes, the characters did, but not LINK!

In Ocarina of Time, isn't it link that says his name when Zelda asks? because the dialog is in green not white??....

In the Windfall auction house Link says his bid...

People always react as if Link is talking to them. They just repeat what he says in their answers. We know what he's saying without seeing a word.

LOL yes the time in TWW when he said "Come On" I found that funny because..... If you had the skull hammer out he just said "Come On" and lifted the skull hammer above his head...with ease...

Link is pretty strong for a kid

You never get to hear his voice, but you know he said something because of the reactions of other characters.Thats as close as you can get to hearing him talk.Unless,his battle cries are some kind of language, but I doubt that.

Anyway, Link doesn't talk fluently in the games because Nintendo doesn't want to take the risk of him sounding......... not right.

If he did talk, I'd want him to sound somewhat like Jak in Jak II.
That tough image would really make playing as Link fun.

If he doesn't talk in text he isn't going to talk with a voice. The closest we'll get is yells and short phrases like "come on!" and saying his name

Well, the reason that Link doesn't talk is because they don't want him to sound bad and there are other reasons, I'm sure. Like he does talk, you just don't hear him and the developers didn't want to have you talk for him, like say some stupid line or something. Baldur's Gate did that, and it wasn't that bad, but it would be weird for the Legend of Zelda. They also didn't want him talking for you or something, and there are other reasons, as I have said before. I don't really want him to talk that much. It's just kinda better if he didn't talk for some reason. If he got some cool voice then that would be good. I have never heard Jak's voice, so I cannot say if he would sound cool with his voice. Link is not a mute or anything, the people who made it just had their reasons.

I like it how it is. It is the same with Golden Sun.

in Oot, when link is talking to zelda there is a part that says ......................... and then zelda says "yes, i have told my father" etc, that means that link had to have said somethink like,"have you told your father about this dream?"

I'm with Pink Link on this one...He talks in Wind Waker at the auction. He yells out how many rupees he's bidding.
