Favourite Zelda game style

What's your favourite style of the Zelda games? I like the 3D versions the best as it gives you a real sense of adventure and it's just awesome. What do you guys think? The graphic style like cel-shading doesn't matter.

Re: Favourite Zelda game style

I also think the 3D zelda's are the best.

But the 2D Zelda's are good as well, but the 3D are better.
I suppose it can only be expected that the 3D are better.
But there could be people who think 2D is better, it all depends on the persons veiws.

Re: Favourite Zelda game style

and here's another reason...

The 3D zelda's stick to a story unlike the 2D, especialy the Four sword games.
But if you study the stories you can make out some theory's wich many have done.

Re: Favourite Zelda game style

As amazing as the 2D games are (not counting Four Swords obviously), I always felt that Zelda was always meant to be done in 3D, but the technology just wasn't around in those days for it. When I first saw the beta screenshots for Ocarina of Time, I knew it would be amazing. The Zelda world is so huge and everything that it needs to be realised in 3D to be fully appreciated.

Re: Favourite Zelda game style

I think the 3d Zelda style is the best because it gives the player the most immersion into the world of Zelda. And gameplay possibilities are broader in 3d compared to 2d style.

Re: Favourite Zelda game style

A Link to the Past and Link's Awakening, both 2D games, are far and away my favorite Zelda games. But that is irrelevant - the issue here is not whether the 2D or 3D games are better, but whether 2D or 3D is better for the series.

I think that 3D lends itself very, very well to the series. 3D is the clear choice, in my mind.

Re: Favourite Zelda game style

I voted for 3D, for the sole purpose that it really does give some feeling to the game. You can't see emotion in 2D too much. Plus, 3D is what I started playing Zelda because the first game I played was OoT.

Re: Favourite Zelda game style

I voted 3D too, i admit, the 2d style was good, and it worked well, but the 3D Zelda's just brimmed with awesomeness, i mean OoT took the series to a whole new level IMO
But ALttP was good and played really well, but 3D was just great!

Re: Favourite Zelda game style

it seems most of us think about the same....yes 2D is great and those are some of our favorite games, but 3D is the better choice. it allows the series to have some amazing features and puzzles that 2D could never acomplish

Re: Favourite Zelda game style

I personally like 3D. However, the great thing with 2D games is that they have interesting stories and are well made because they can't substitute good graphics for those elements, which I feel happens with games like Halo. However, you can include and do more with 3D graphics.

I like the 3D games best because it gives you the feeling that you are actually part of the game, it just makes it more real, and I like realism in games.

Re: Favourite Zelda game style

Mmm, hard choice they're like different games with the same theme. I love them both for different reasons, but it's funny cuz my sister likes the 2D's and my friend dosn't, he likes the 3D.
