Good job with capturing the feeling about getting stuck. However, it felt like you were getting off topic when you started talking about the sea.

Re: Behind the Rupees: Getting Stuck

^Agreed. It felt like Bobslob's mind was starting to wonder towards the end, although I do get his point. The last paragraph or two did try to bring it back in line, but it didn't quite make it.

Other than that, great piece.

Re: Behind the Rupees: Getting Stuck

Great article, Bobslob!

I think his point was that when you get stuck, sometimes, you have to retreat, to leave the doungen and do something completley diffrent. In his example, he sails around the ocean in WW.

I know how it feels to be stuck in a doungen. (I use a walkthrough, but i'm trying not to.)

A great article. I quite like the imagery involved, especially since, like Bobslob, LA was my first Zelda game, and I hold the sea in the same sort of reverence.

Of course, I wasn't nearly as impressed with tWW's sea as Bobslob seems to have been. I think I'd rather be in his shoes here, actually.

Great artical I truly enjoyed reading it mainly because it reminds of my first attempt at the infimuse water temple.

I liked the sea, but soured of it towards the end of the game. My first impression was great, though.

Perhaps a little. I see what you mean. But the sea part was the necessary solution to "getting stuck." Getting stuck, how to get-- for lack of a better word-- unstuck. The overworld and the sea were part of that. And, in tWW, the sea is a huge component. The answer to getting stuck was clearing your mind, and the answer to clearing your mind, the sea and the overworld. It wandered a bit, but I like to think that my article engaged in the same sort of wandering that I propose for within the game. As for why they seem a bit disjointed, that thing about being stumped on what to write was true. I married three articles into one, which should explain the lack of continuity.

Re: Behind the Rupees: Getting Stuck

Good article!! althrough he uses TWW as an example, is the same feeling when you get stuck in any game ... and, beleive it or not, get out of the temple (or the area where you're stuck) to the main overworld really hepls!! whatever the game is Zelda, Metroid, etc..

Saludos

Re: Behind the Rupees: Getting Stuck

ah, just read your article Pipking. nice but as some people have stated up above, you did seem to wonder a bit when you suddenly started on the sea (i think you need a better transition not that i could do better though...)

Re: Behind the Rupees: Getting Stuck

Bobslob, I have that same feeling many times after trying to complete a dungeon. But zelda games are diverse enough to have the extra minigame or two to try to ease the player's mind from the difficulty of the game.

Re: Behind the Rupees: Getting Stuck

That's a pretty good article, Bobslob, I know exactly how it feels getting stuck in any video game. And I too hate it when I have to backtrack and get out of a dungeon, which I've done a few times.
