I've been thinking about the Koriki and Saria

I've been thinking about what happens to the Koriki. When the Koriki leave the forest they can NEVER be kids again and grow up. First off how do the kida grow from a baby, they would be stuck like that until they left. Second off if Saria left (as you saw at the ending when the sages are on the mountain) she's there! That mean she had to grow up! What do you think?

It never said anywhere that they would grow up. It just said something bad would happen, I think that would be to keep the Koriki in the forest because they would not do very well in the outside world.

Re: I've been thinking about the Koriki and Saria

In the game it said the Koriki would die if they left the forest. My theory is I think the game would have the Deku Tree to protect the koriki by making barriers around stuff. And I think the koriki would be a little less couragess. But Link was a Hylian.

However, Link was not a Kokiri. He was a hylian. Only the Great Deku Tree knew that he was not one of the forest children. The only thing that the Kokiri knew was that he didn't have a fairy.

Re: I've been thinking about the Koriki and Saria

Bless you, Ciro. You're the first in this topic to spell Kokiri right.

Anyway, although it's stated in the game that they will die if they leave the forest, we see them in Lon Lon Ranch after completing the game. My guess is that they can stay outside of the forest for a certain amount of time, maybe as much as days, weeks or months. But they will eventually turn mortal and grow up.

Re: I've been thinking about the Koriki and Saria

You guys do speak truth in your posts, but chew on this.
Did you forget that Saria is the Forest Sage? Wouldn't that give her a reason to leave the forest since the Chamber of Sages is in the Temple of Time? Maybe the power of the sages kept her from growing up.

Re: I've been thinking about the Koriki and Saria

first, Saria is a sage, at the end you see her has a glowing ball of green light flying up to the mountain, she obviously doenst abide by the rules of Hyrule lore anymore

second, I personally beleive that the kokiri are spirits, so they arent really born, they are more or less created.

My friend and partner in project mudora, achitka, has a very very cool theory about the kokiri, they were once children with parents, but during a giant forest fire, their parents died, as did the bodies of the children, but their spirits still remained, and so, the great deku tree looked after all of these lost souls

Actually, the Kokiri's would become Stalchildren/Stalfos if they left the Forest.

Re: I've been thinking about the Koriki and Saria

well they all leave in the end to go to the party in Lon Lon Ranch, but that was special circumstances. i think they grow to a certain age (about 10 or 11) and never grow from there. at the same time, there are no new kokiris when link returns after 7 years. i think the spirits theary sounds like a good one. its very possible they are spirits and will dissapear/die if they leave the deku tree's protection

Re: I've been thinking about the Koriki and Saria

I think that Saria can leave because she is a sage....and I think the Kokiri live too, they were just lead to beleive that they would die if they left the forest.

Re: I've been thinking about the Koriki and Saria

Its easy if the Kokiri leave the forest and never return they will eventualy die of old age, only in the Forest can they be protected from ageing thats why time stands still when Link is there. What I want to know is how and where are the Kokiri born how do they come from a big tree, argh never mind.

Re: I've been thinking about the Koriki and Saria

It might have something to do with the Deku Sprout. After he appeared, the Kokiri left for Lon Lon Ranch, and then the Koroks were no longer tied to the Forest. So I am thinking that maybe the Deku Sprout was stronger, and could protect the Kokiri even as they left the forest. Or maybe he was just more relaxed, the Deku Tree may have just been an overdoting father (he does look like a dad with that moustache), and feared his magic would fail if the Kokiri left the forest.

I do think they are spirits though, as the Koroks are described as spirits of the forest. They might be like plants, they appear as babies, grow up, and when they "die" they simply fade away and become part of the forest.

Re: I've been thinking about the Koriki and Saria

or maybe they are growing older but just like any other persons rate. It could be that when they leave the forest they do grow older but not at a fast rate. When they return to the forest they dont age physicly just mentaly. and if they stay out to long and become a teenager they cant return to the forest to become a kid.

hmm i guess that sounds kinda confusin.. sorry about that if it does lol

Maybe if the Kokiri went back to the forest, they might stopp the growing prosess....
but if they stayed outside, then I guess you will grow up.

Re: I've been thinking about the Koriki and Saria

If I was a kokiri, I would not want to be an adult in a child's body (remember Claudia from Interview with the Vampire?), its just so frustrating.

I was suprised the Koroks don't have fairies, and Saria lost hers.
