Wouldn't it be cool if Link had a partner?

wouldn't it be cool if link had a partner? i mean, besides zelda,talt, and navi, i mean like goofy and donald in kingdom hearts, you know, like you can give them equipment and all. i think that would be cool, like if you were just about to die, they would like defend you and give you healing items

Yeah, Link probably does better without help. He's always seemed like a loner to me. I think that a partner would be okay, but it wouldn't really work for the series. The only upside I can think of, is that a nifty co-op mode would open up.

He had had partners. The two fairys in OOT/MM. The Sages in WW. Tingle in WW and if they dont count then Epona sure as hell does! She is his trusty steed! If thats not a partner then I dont know what is!

There not really considerd as partners since all those guys wernt in the originals. if his sheild and sword could talk then sure! Thres a couple a parters for ya.

I agree with what the others have said; the characterisation of Link is his solitude and independence. One of the main factors of this is his silence; if he had a partner, dialogue would be very likely - I just have this terrible image of TOS-esque scats appearing in the Zelda series.

Yea. Link would do better without a partner. The hero of time/wind(whatever) is independent and doesn't need any help.

Infact if you think about it has always had partners like King of Red Lions and Navia but they never really help him in the adventure so really i think he should stay alone andn ot have proper partners like in kingdom hearts.

Agreed, partners are stupid. Link should remain a loner. I wasn't even a big fan of what they did in WW when you could control Makar and Medli. They should have made the control system more inventive, not just 'you become this character.'

I actually alway wondered what the gae would've been like as a Final Fantasy style of party members, level building, ect. Then I played Zelda 2...

What's the difference between a partner and a sidekick? If someone can answer me that, I may unlock this thread. But for the time being, I think it would be best to move the discussion over to Links sidekick because it's quite obvious that you are tip toeing around the subject of Zelda'05 (it's not like you can go back in time and change if Link is going to have a partner/sidekick or not, so just look towards the future).
