Helmasaur/helmaroc

In ALttP, the boss of the Dark Palace is called the Helmasaur King. The giant bird in WW is called the Helmaroc King. Both have mask like things, but other than that they are COMPLETELY different. What do you think the connection is.

I think that they're both related. Actually, that's a pretty interesting find that I wouldn't have caught on to myself. Somebody else has probably already made the relation (mask + hammer + names are all alike), of course, but it's the first I've heard of it.

Good eye. And searanox, there is a difference between them. One flys, one crwals, and Helmasor king has several attacks while Helmroc king has one. Finaly, I think that Helmasor king was sealed in side the realm, and Gannondorf changed him to make him 'scarier' lol.

Helmasaur = Helm (head-mask-thing), a (thrown in to connect the two words), saur (end part of "dinosaur")
Helmaroc = Helm (see above), a (see above), roc (an ancient mythological flying lizard [I think])
Thats the way I figure it. The only connection that I can see is the "Helma" bit.

Helmaroc has several attacks. It just seldom uses them.

Dark Isaac hit the nail on the head. It's a simple question of being able to notice the origins of the words. The rest of you are just looking too deep, and pointlessly so.

Witch temples the dark temple cause ive forgot but i do think that nintendo may of wanted another flying boss and new that they had used helmasaur so they just changed the last part to roc. Or it could just be a coincidence!

Note: In LA the feather was called ROC'Sfeather!

Helm = helmet
a = connects the two words
king = largest and strongest of their species (there are helmasaurs and helmarocs that are just small normal enemies)
roc = giant bird
saur = dinosaur

In conclusion one is a giant bird with a helmet, and one is a giant dinosaur with a helmet. Their only similarities are that they both happen to be the biggest of their species and they both wear protective facial armour.

I kinda figured out the whole origin of the world thing shortly after I started this thread. Funny how that happens.

I went over your idea as well but I didnt know a significance between the two. as we all know nintendo likes to use Old ideas over and over and over again. thats probably the reason , maybe the healmasaur is ganon's pet as is the healmroc king...

The Dark Palace is the first dungeon after you defeat Agahnim the first time (first dark world dungeon). It's where the East Palace (the very first dungeon) is in the light world.

I don't think there's any real correlation bewteen them. I prefer to call the bird Zeeklock anyway.

I remember the dark temple know. King Healmasaur is an orange lizard that uses its tail to attack so yes its like a dinosaur.
