I was reading someones FAQ on the Four Swords Adventures and they gave an interesting theory on the timeline of the story i.e. what game came before what. This person said that the order of story was:
Ocarina of Time
Majora's Mask
A Link to the Past
The Legend of Zelda
Link's Awakening
Zelda II
Oracle of Ages
Oracle of Seasons
Four Swords
Four Swords Adventures
The Wind Waker
Yet from what i gathered I believe that it should go:
Four Swords
Four Swords Adventures
Ocarina of Time
Majora's Mask
A Link to the Past
The Legend of Zelda
Link's Awakening
Zelda II
Oracle of Ages
Oracle of Seasons
The Wind Waker
because in FSA gannondorf steals the magic tridant yet he uses it in OOT therefore it has 2 be in this order.
But whats your views and what order do you think it would be in

hi i did not mean what they were released, i meant story wise ie OOT comes first story wise because it tells us about who Gannon is and little about Links past. WW comes last story wise because link leaves the master sword under water and finally destroyed gannon. The FAQ that i read it from explains it better than me:

Well, that's... different. How did anyone determine that Zelda 1 happens between LTTP and LA? It doesn't really have a story....

It is commonly thought that OoT is truly the first in the timeline (if one even exists). Ganondorf does not use a trident in OoT, he uses two swords. The trident comes in ALttP and LA (Shadow Ganon), so Four Swords Adventures can't really be before OoT. And while LA is likely to come after ALttP, no one is entirely sure where it goes, because it can belong to any order, BUT I highly doubt that it could come after Legend of Zelda and before Adventure of Link. How do you think of this?

The Oracle can be played either way so that doesn't matter. I agreed with most of this except for everything I said.

I was referring to a true timeline.

Another reason you would put FSA before OOT is because in FSA the lost woods are not yet lost yet in OOT they are.
