MY TIMELINE THEORY
My time line goes that all the games were made in the order of the timeline save for some of the more recent games. This is how it goes:
Legend of Zelda on nes: The first king of HYrule is chosen and the triforce is at that time awarded to him. He then splits it up and divides it amongst his family. Ganondorf Dragmire rises out of the his desert home for the first time, and for the first time reaches the triforce where he wishes for life without death thus meaning the only kind of freedom of ganon is one where he is trapped instead of dead. Link then retrieves the Triforces final piece for the first time and the whole triforce is united. During this time the world of hyrule is amazingly rocky and full of cliffs and canyons. Adventures of Link: It is still in the same era of Hyrule, the King had spread his kingdom farther around the land of Hyrule but is still unlearned of the enormousity of Hyrule and the other races. The prince of Hyrule turns to the temptations of the triforce and leaves the family destitute. A powerful wizard called Agahnim works his wickedness on the land of Hyrule and helps Ganondorfs attempts to return to the light world by gathering some of the Heroe's Blood (which he does not succeed in). Link returns the crystals to their resting places, after they have been taken by Hyrule's knights to prevent any more evil enterring the temple. Once the crystals are in place the gate which blocks the great pyramid is opened. Link defeats his enemies and then resigns from his job as a knight of the noble blood. A Link to the Past: During a time of evil uprising a child named Link is the last remaining in the bloodline of the Noble Knights. Ganondorf begins again a quest to return to the light world through the power of the dark wizard Agahnim. Link goes himself in to the dark world to dispose of Ganondorf there. At the moment, the power of the Gods and the Triforce combined are still the only things that can destroy Ganon so he is only prevented from returning for a while. There is a large gap of time between AoL and A LttP so the cliffs and canyons have eroded down in in to more forested areas etc... THE MINISH CAP: A young power-hungry Minish named Vaati seeks to draw out the golden power from the maidens of Hyrule, in search of immortaility. Link stops him, although this is not the end of Vaati. FOUR SWORD: Shadow Link releases the soul of a poweful wind mage. It inhabits the body of the power-hungry minish Vaati who can again use great powers to try again to draw the golden power out of the maidens. Link save the maidens of Hyrule again so Vaati responds to a leader who he believes can help him, Ganondorf. He frees Ganondorf in to the light world with his powers, who then takes control of operations - takes the trident of power, which takes him closer to his own goal, not Vaati's. Vaati is killed by Link. But he has already served Ganondorfs purpose to corrupt the castle. Link kills Ganondorf's body but his soul is still in the atmospheare. The land is safe from him once again, for a while. Links Awakening: Its either all just a dream or Link actually ends up going to an island, saving it and coming back. Link then returns home and has children who can continue the noble bloodline. Ocarina of Time: The world of Hyrule is under a massive siege by the forces of Evil. Ganondorf manages to return to the light world by reincarnating in the soul of an evil Gerudo King. Eventually he manages to gain control of the Triforce and wishes that if he ever be trapped in the dark world, the king of Gerudos should be his dark soul's heir. Before any of this happens, during the wars on Hyrule, a woman runs in to the forest and seeks aid from the Deku Tree to protect her son, one of the last remaining in the bloodline, and by the time he is a boy he is the last remaining in the bloodline. He seeks the 3 keys to the temple of time where he grabs the master sword and is frozen for 7 years in time, which allows Ganondorf to get his hands on the triforce and rein 7 years of darkness on Hyrule. Link is now the proper age of the Hero of Time according to the sages. He combines their powers and defeats Ganondorf. With Ganon's last remaining energy he tears down his own kingdom and becomes the most evil infested creature known to man (and his true form). Link manages to defeat the creature which is Ganon. (Another large jump between ALttP and OoT means that there are now almost no cliffs in the centre of Hyrule, only on the edges because of erosion and weathering etc.. etc..) Majoras Mask: Link goes his own way, away from Hyrule which is now safe, seeking adventure. He finds a secret world, whether connected or not to Hyrule it is not known, thought i remember reading that the Goddesses powers seeped through the cracks of life and created alternate realities which could be proof that Termina is not connected, and yet have some kind of weird and distorted proof that there is a secret passage way below the forests ground which takes you all the way through under the earth to the land of Termina's centre "clock tower" which could have been build as an ancient door to go under the earth to other lands, rather than risking the mountains (Thats all just made up fan fiction stuff but if it glues it togethor i like it) Link saves the world from the evil entity of Majoras mask, made by the ancient people of Termina the majorans (who could have built the clock tower and moved on to another land) Oracle Games: At the end of OoT Link travels back in time to a time when Ganondorf is still in the light world. He is also alive while Link is in Termina, but whats most important is that he is still attempting to kill off Hyrule land as we know it at this time. Ganondorf sends out 2 of his best men to corrupt the unprotected neighbouring lands of Hyrule which provide a strong magical trickle in to its saftey (so obviously if Ganondorf can remove the threat of these lands aiding Hyrule, possibly use it to create more military regiments for his army of minions, he is safe in his attempts to capture Hyrule and torture it). The representatives of the Godesses bring Link to these lands to stop the 2 evil commanders. This he does do and so takes another step forward to defeating Ganondorf around the time of OoT as an adult link. During the Oracle games Link is nearly the adult age). Never fear though, Ganondorf is only trapped again... His immortality stops him from ever truly dieing out. Around this time the hero resigns. He has a family lives happily, passes on his blood line. The Gods and Goddesses of Hyrule command all the people to climb to the top of the highest mountains and set up home. Ganondorfs servants see them leaving and raid the castle in search for a way to bring back their leader. The Gods decide to flood the world now and they are sure that the evil is left underneath the ocean, but the new king of the time is stubborn and protects his kingdom with the triforce. Everything in the kingdom is turned colourless and dark... The king lives on... WINDWAKER 100 years to the day Ganondorf was last sent away by the adult Link. The King uses ancient magic to return to the top of the world. He places himself inside the body of a boat and find a remaining son of the hero's blood. He finds a boy named Link. He helps to find the boys sister. During this, Link discovers that Ganondorf has been reincarnated, once more as a dark and evil man... From a far off land, possibly where the Gerudo migrated to, he was born and raised and what he raised was wat Ganondorf knew he would...an evil army. He came to an old Fortress, believed to be haunted, named the Foresaken Fortress... It holds many dark powers but he assymilates it and uses it for his military base. Ganondorf plots again to control the triforce, which is again held by 3 people. Himself, one part... Link, another and the third is the remaining of the Princess Zelda's bloodline. (A pirate named Tetra) Link heads down below the surface of the water and retrieves the ancient master sword from its resting place. Link attacks Ganondorf, who is once again trapped away in the dark world by the power of a Light Arrow and the master sword being planted in to his body. The King realises his mistakes by a confession of Ganon's and wishes to the Triforce that the lost world, of Hyrule, be flooded and that the 2 children of Tetra and Link return to the surface, to create a New Hyrule (whether that means in a new place or to reorganise the way Hyrule is at the top of the ocean, I do not know) What do you think? Does it work? |

Re: MY TIMELINE THEORY
THE LEGEND...
NOTE: There is no such thing as an "official" LOZ timeline. I just like the idea of piecing it all together into one large legend. By the way this is by damo not dan so don't take any credit for it dan!!!This is how I see it... The Legend begins with the story that unfolds in "Ocarina of Time." When the young Hero of Time removed the Master Sword from it's pedestal and open the gates to the Sacred Realm, he unknowingly let Ganondorf sneak through. Ganondorf then found the Triforce. It's my belief that when he touched it, he became immortal with the Triforce of Power that infused itself within him. He did not however have all three essences in balance, so the Triforce split. The remaining two pieces infused themselves within two beings who best represented the respected essences. Princess Zelda was adorned with Wisdom and the Hero of Time with Courage. While link was trapped within the Sacred Realm for 7 years, Ganondorf returned to Hyrule with his new found power and ravaged Hyrule castle and sent the land into a time of darkness. When the Hero was ready, he set off to awaken the Sages that could seal Ganondorf away in the Sacred Realm forever. After this was accomplished, Princess Zelda sent the Hero back 7 years to resume his life as a child... This is where the story splits along two paths. The path of time that continued from the time of the adult hero and the time that continued after the Hero returned back 7 years. The path that unfolds for the young Hero leads into "Majora's Mask." Link searches for his lost fairy companion, Navi in the Lost Woods when he's ambushed by a Skull Kid and two fairies. The Skull Kid steals the Ocarina of Time. Link gives chase only to stumble down a hole leading him into the land of Termina where he has three days to prevent an ominous moon from destroying the land. The fate of Ganondorf is sort of a mystery, but I look at it this way. Although he was sealed away in the future, by the way of the Triforce (hey, this is a fictitious world...things can work illogically), Ganondorf was erased from the past and remained in the Sacred Realm where time has no place. After questing in Termina, Link returned to Hyrule Castle. He walked deep within the Castle when the Triforce appeared before him. "Link... Link... Accept the quest of the Triforce!" Link is then teleported to a distant land. Here's where the Oracle of Seasons and Ages unfold. At the end of the quest, Koume and Kotake attempt to bring Ganon back. Their spell was only strong enough to bring back a shadow of Ganon...only the sacrifice of Princess Zelda could complete the resurrection. But of course, Link prevailed and Ganon remained sealed away. After he prevailed over Ganon in holodrum and lybryina his quest was complete and he returned to Hyrule where he lived with his uncle, Smithy. Here unfolds the story of the minish cap. Her Zelda calls for link and tells him about the festival of the piccori. The piccori made one of the many swords (like the master sword) spoken of in the legends. The piccori made the four sword and stored the evil the sword had slain in a chest. Unknown to everyone else princess Zelda had another gift from the piccori called the light force, a source almost as powerful as the Triforce. Then when the evil minish Vaati got his hands on Elzo the great minish sorcerer’s minish cap he had his wish granted and became a powerful, but evil sorcerer. He then set out to unlock the chest which the four sword was implanted and claim its power for his own. When he did this however he found all that was in the chest was monsters. He then knocked link out as he tried to save Zelda. Zelda was then turned to stone and the king in turmoil. Knowing that only children could see the minish the king set link off on a quest to fix the four sword and infuse it with the power of the elements to give the four sword back its power so Vaati could be slain. Meanwhile Vaati had come to realise that the power he was seeking was in Zelda all along so just had link had completed his quest he had to defeat Vaati before he could become immortal with the power of the light force. Link defeated Vaati and the minish cap fell off his head Elzo was then restored to his true form along with Zelda. They then combined the power of the light force and the minish cap to set things right in Hyrule. They sealed Vaati away in the box never to be opened again. However not long after link had completed his quest Zelda sensed a disturbance in the shrine of the four sword so once again link travelled with Zelda to the shrine to find that Vaati had been released. Vaati then captured Zelda so link had to once again wield the four sword. This time four links quested through Hyrule to save Zelda and defeat Vaati. The Link’s prevailed over Vaati and peace was restored. Years passed until a strange figure appeared in the shrine of the four sword. This figure captured Zelda and tricked Link into pulling the four sword out of its resting place thus freeing Vaati once again. Link had to adventure through Hyrule to save Zelda, the maidens trapped by Vaati’s power and collecting ”Force Gems” to restore the power in the four sword. Link defeated Vaati again however then the figure revealed itself to be Ganon! Link had to then defeat Ganon. Link won (of course). This is where the legend ends so far on that time path... The other path of time...the future holds much more. There was peace in Hyrule for quite a time before the coming of the wizard, Agahnim and the story that unfolds in "A Link to the Past." Using the descendants of the Sages, Ganon uses Agahnim as a pawn to open a gateway from the Sacred Realm to Hyrule. The new Hero foils the plot by freeing those descendants of the Sages and defeating Ganon once more (or so he thought...). After Link defeated Ganon and while he was speaking with the Triforce and before making his wish, I believe the servants of Ganon quickly took their fallen lord's body out of the Pyramid of Power and brought him forth to Hyrule and in hiding, prepared for his revival. Having believed Ganon dead and Hyrule safe, Link set off to better train himself. When he left Hyrule, the Triforce of Courage was split across the land (this explains the scenario for "Wind Waker"). Here unfolds the story of "Link's Awakening." While Link was questing in Koholint and wherever else he ended up after that, Ganon was revived in Hyrule. Many years had passed before Ganon began his evil campaign across Hyrule. The people prayed that the Hero would return to defeat this evil once more, but he did not appear. The gods sunk the land of Hyrule deep below the ocean and sealed it away. All that remained were islands. Ganon would still find a way to the lands above the Great Sea. There in the Forsaken Fortress, he plotted to find Princess Zelda by capturing all girls with long ears. The plan was working to perfection until the Helmaroc King caught a female pirate named Tetra. The bird was chased down by pirates and shot by catapult; dropping Tetra in the woods high atop Outset Island. A young boy named Link and his sister Aryll witnessed it all. With that, Link set off to see if the girl was ok. After this was confirmed, they headed out of the forest only to witness the capture of Aryll. Link joined the pirates to set off and rescue his sister and here unfolds the story of "The Wind Waker." At the end of this saga, the King of Hyrule wishes upon the Triforce that the land of Hyrule be forever sunk below the sea. Link and Zelda battle Ganon until Link deals the final blow...sinking the Master Sword into Ganon's head, sealing him in stone. With Hyrule sunk, Link, Zelda and the pirates sail off to find a new land... Eventually the land they find I believe to be the location of "The Legend of Zelda" and "Zelda II: The Adventure of Link." They claim this land to be the new Hyrule. This would explain the complete change of geography between these two games and the others. Now one might bring up the fact that the land of "Ocarina of Time" was different from "A Link to the Past." I attribute that to differences of interpretation. All the same major landmarks are the same in both these games, just differing somewhat in exact location. Zelda I and II are completely different, thus it must be a new land altogether. The Triforce was also split so no future generation would be tempted by the power. The Great Palace was built to forever hide the Triforce of Courage until one fit to handle the power would come to claim it. The remaining two Triforce remained in the royal family. Many more years of peace reigned in the land. Eventually there came a new King of Hyrule who had a son and daughter. When the king died, the prince inherited the Triforce of Power and to the Princess the Triforce of Wisdom. The Princess also was the only one who knew the secret of the Triforce of Courage, passed on from the King to her. The Prince tried to attain this information, but the Princess wouldn't talk. A wizard also wanted the information. Infuriated with no response from Zelda, he cast a sleeping spell on the princess. The Prince locked the Princess in a magically sealed room and declared all future Princesses of the land be named Zelda in memorial... Now here's where I've added my own part to the Legend to try and fuse it together. Many, many years somewhere along the line, a fisherman pulled up the Master Sword (called the Magic Sword in Zelda I) and brought it to the land of New Hyrule (this is the old man that holds it in Zelda I until you're ready to wield it). When he pulled it up, Ganon was set free and found his way to New Hyrule. When Princess Zelda became aware of this, she split the Triforce of Wisdom into eight pieces. She couldn't stop Ganon from re-attaining the Triforce of Power however. The Triforce of Courage remained secretly hidden in the Great Palace far across the sea in Eastern Hyrule. Before being captured by Ganon, Zelda sent her attendant Impa out to find a Hero with the courage to defeat Ganon. She eventually came by him by chance in the woods....saved from attacking Moblins and told him her story. Here is where the story of "The Legend of Zelda" unfolds. Link sets off, collects and reforms the Triforce of Wisdom and makes his way to the final showdown with Ganon. The Hero prevails and reduces Ganon to ashes. Ganon may have been defeated, but his legions remained. Only the blood of the Hero sprinkled upon the ashes of the fallen Ganon would revive the King of Evil. On the 16th birthday of the Hero, the symbol of the Triforce of Courage began to resonate upon his hand. Impa took Link to the North Palace far north of Death Mountain and told him the Legend of Zelda...the legend of the wizard, the prince and the eternal sleeping spell cast upon the former Princess of ages past. Link was able to open the sacred room and read the old scrolls detailing the whereabouts of the long hidden Triforce of Courage. It is here where the story of "Zelda II: The Adventure of Link" unfolds. Link quests to unlock the seal on the Great Palace and gain the Triforce of Courage to complete the Triforce once again and awaken the fallen Princess...which he does after an epic battle with his own shadow. This is all that has been told of the Legend... |

Also take into account that the GBA version contains an extra dungeon called Palace of the Four Sword (only available after you've completed the Four Swords game also available on the cartridge). In it the Four Sword is split into four separate swords and Link has to battle evil counterpart Links. How could this be possible if it took place before TMC and the Four Swords games? Quote:

And Ganon is already dead. The whole plot of the game revolves around Twinrova trying to bring him back to life. Quote:

Re: MY TIMELINE THEORY
an interview with shigeru myamoto told that there is an OFFICAL timline so here it is
OOT- proof- the sages created the temple of time and the master sword next MM-proof- takes place months after the imprisoning war.. in hyrule, the triforce went to the king and after he died his son, the prince only got a pice of the triumph fork. a magician close to the king was told that zelda knew where the other parts were. zelda would not speak.. so the magician put her into an eternal sleep. the prince placed zelda in a room of the castle hoping that someone could awaken her. he orderd that every child born unto the royal family be named zelda and it was so. many years later ganon broke the seal. LA- proof- link has to awake zelda! duh! Alttp-proof-now after this there has been a new zelda born and she is about 7. zelda telepathically reached link and she called him. but links uncle would not let him leave...but you know what happens in the end, after he rescues zelda link sets out on training... AOL- proof- after his traveling from training he finds the north palace where zelda is. NOW THERE IS THE REAL TIMELINE FROM THE BIG MAN SHIGERU MYAMOTO!!! now the timeline dispute has ended.... but link's struggle with ganon has not ended. no tale has yet been told of how either was defeted. perhaps the two will never end their struggle, and ganon may survive to terrorize the hero in links bloodline... until that tale is told... we may never know the fate of hyrule..." -gerudo archer

Re: MY TIMELINE THEORY
Here's the real timeline;
The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask The Legend of Zelda: Wind Waker The Legend of Zelda: (Working Title) The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past The Legend of Zelda: The Oracle of Seasons The Legend of Zelda: The Oracle of Ages The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening The Legend of Zelda: The Four Swords The Legend of Zelda: Four Swords Adventures The Legend of Zelda: Four Swords (Working Title) The Legend of Zelda The Legend of Zelda: The Adventure of Link Ok, it start out in OoT, and u know he gets the spiritual stones and pulls the Master sword from the pedistal, and gets locked away for 7 yrs. and stuff. Then of coarse he awakens all 6 Sages and saves the 7th(Zelda) from Ganondorf. Then the sages lock him up in an endless void to drift for all eternety. Then Zelda sends him back in time to where he was 10 yrs. old again. Then a year and a half later he looks for a "longlost friend"and then he gets caught up in a situation and saves Termina from Majora. Then i think about a century or two later, Ganondorf busts out of the endless void and attacks hyrule(the great sea) and "reincarnation" of the first Link is Born and embarks on a journey to save his sister and ends up defeating Ganondorf and saving Hyrule and/or the great sea. I dont know much about this one though(Zelda GC) Then Ganon Threatens hyrule once again from the once Sacred Realm now is the dark World cause he got hold of all three Triforce Pieces and and wishes it as his own, and Agahnim(the Kings right hand man at first) Takes control of the Hyrulean government and other stuff like that. but then Link foils his plan with the master sword and went to the dark world and freed all the Maidens Agahnim had sealed away and Defeated Agahnim again and then he defeats Ganon and saves Zelda, the sacred Realm, and Hyrule. Then he is summoned to a far away land called Holodrum and saves the Oracle of Seasons(Din) from Onyx. Then he is summuned to Labrinnya(Pardon my spelling) and saves the Oracle of Ages(Nayru) From Vernan. Then on his way back to Hyrule he crashes on the sea during a storm and is washed up to Koholint Island and saves them from the windfish's nighmare which had the Wind Fish, Gaurdian of Koholint, under a spell so it could cover the island in darkness forever. Then centuries later, a tournament was held and the winner was the Evil Sorcerer Vaati, he broke the Legendary Piccori Blade and turns Zelda to stone. Then Link sets out to stop him, he met this talking hat who used to be the elder of all minish and he helps link along the way by allowing him to shrink which was helpful along the way. He had to obtain all of the Four Elements (Earth, Fire, Water, and Wind) to obtain two of those elements he had to shrink to the size of a minish to obtain them, then he took the broken Piccori Blade and takes it to Mellari(leader of the Mountain Minish), and they make it into the white sword which gets enfused with the four elements, thus creating the Four Sword which became legendary through out time. Then he foils Vaati's plans and Saves Hyrule. Then he lays the Four Sword in a pedistal that sealed Vaati's power. Years later, another Link is born and is asked to embark on a journey after Zelda shows him the Four Sword but Vaati broke out and kidnapped the Princess.Then he pulled the Four Sword from its pedistal and he and his three counter parts foil Vaati's plans. Then about a year later Vaati breaks out again and Link once again sets out on a journey to foil Vaati's plans, but Link and his counterparts soon realize that it was Ganon who was behind all this the whole time. I dont know much about this game either(Zelda DS(Four Swords (Working Title))) Centuries later, Gannon kidnapps the Princess again and the new "reincarnation" of Link sets out on a journey to free Zelda from the cluches of Gannon. He succeeds and defeating Gannon and saves Hyrule. Then, Six years Later and evil Sorcerer put Zelda into a deep sleep and Link sets out again to undo the spell, and then in the Great Palace, he enters the Final room, and his shadow takes form and fights him, but Link defeats it and he soon realizes that it was Gannon's spirit that took over his shadow and tried to kill him so they could use his blood as a final step towards bringing Gannon back. Link then breaks the spell and saves Hyrule. |

your timeline cant be "the true/real timeline" because, there are no true timelines, just timelines that make sense, and yours happens to make sense

Re: MY TIMELINE THEORY
>< As much as I hate timelines I hate more people who use specualtion or opinion to say they can't happen. ("taht timline is wrong b/c I sya ti is!!!!!!!!!!!!!!") Also, don't make up interviews, in-game text, in-game events, or anything like that to help explain your idea or to stop someone elses, and if you quote something Give a link! Otherwise it is meaningless.
Finally, none of the timelines in here work, I'd say why, but I don't have 1 hour to type up replies to them all. Also, if the King of Hyrule can be believed, the Link in WW is not related in any way to any other Link, that doesn't really dent any of the timelines, but it lessens the credibility of the writers if they've overlooked that.
