What do you think?

Do you think that Link, the hero of our story... yeah, anyway, do you think that he knows about his past adventures?

Re: What do you think?

I chose no because Link is diffrent in each game. Think about this: In Link to the past he lived with his uncle were is in ocarina of time he lives (well he did) in that tree house. They are to diffrent people almost so they wont be able to remeber there previous journeys

Re: What do you think?

Each link is different. However, in Wind Waker, he does learn of another boy named Link (the Hero of Time) from his grandmother. He always sees a statue in Hyrule Castle of the Hero of Time, which looks a little like Link as well.

If you follow the timeline, each Link is different.

Re: What do you think?

I'd have to agree with Lozzie up there. As for other instances that another Link has been mentioned in the same game.... take a look at the "Hero of Man" from the begining sequence of tMC, and the "Hero of Travels" from the begining of FSA. Sure we've never had the opportunity to play as either one, but the legends of those two heros are connected to the storyline of each game.

Re: What do you think?

I'd say he might have heard legends of the Links of old. But I wouldn't say that he knows about them perse. Unless the different Links are descendants of Link I. Then he probably would have heard about some distant grandfater who fought evil or something of that sort.

Re: What do you think?

I think its all in the geneology. You know, ancestors. For example, WW's link's great-great-(8 more greats)grandpa was another "Link," but the line is so long and so old that the current "Link" doesn't know about it.

I don't think that the Links are necessarily related. Maybe it's just cosmic fate.

Re: What do you think?

The only link that knows about a different link is tww link who knows about oot link. And IF oot is the imprisoning war then alttp link might also know about oot link.

Re: What do you think?

I don't think he did... as pretty much everyone else before me said, "Each link is different..."
I personally think they aren't related because in some games link has a uncle or grand mother that would probably know if they're brother, cousin, husband, father, ect. had been the Hero of Time or any other hero for that matter... cosmic fate as Crazy Penguin said...

I doubt there's blood relation between the different Links. It's a spiritual relation - like reincarnation. Ganondorf states WW Link to be "the Hero of Time, reborn."

Re: What do you think?

I say no. This is because I think that *Possibly* I think that they are reincarnations (As a few people said earlier) and therefore, unless they had visions of their past life or something, I don't think they would know. Being the reincarnation of someone myself. *Wink* MWAHAHAHA! Ahem sorry.

But no.

I think most the time it's the same Link. Nintendo just changes his look.

Re: What do you think?

I choose no because I believe in more than one Link. The history of his ancestors or the ancient Links may have been told in history, but I doubt Link in every game is the same, otherwise he would know of all his adventures, which he doesn't.

I ALttP there's evidence that all of the Links are related by blood. That's the only thing 'keep the Knight's line true' can have meant. Yes, I know that the King says that TWW Link is not related to the Hero of old, but when you receive the first shield the inscription says that it was wielded by the Hero, himself. And didn't Link's grandmother mention something about it being the family shield?

Also, if they were just some random boys with the same destiny that would totally DESTROY the whole deal about a legendary Hero saving the land of Hyrule from the cluthces of evil multiple times. He won't be so unique, anymore.

I believe each Link is a reincarnation of the last, and it started with the Hero of Men, mentioned in TMC. It's stated that it was about that time the Hylians (yes, I know they're called humans in the game, but that's just WRONG) got their powers, and I can't see how there can be any games before that.

EDIT: And, about the Hylian/human-thing, it's stated in the Japanese manual that the name Hyrule came from the root of Hylia. So, they must have been called Hylians back then.
