sacred realm
I think I stupid for asking this but hey this topic is kind of vague. What exactly is the sacred realm. I know it's like another demension or something and that's where the Temple of light and the chamber of sages are located but still what exactly is it? Do the Gods live there? Oh and one more thing how is Ganon sealed there? How come he can't get out of this demension? If you members can answer these that would be great.

Re: sacred realm
When the Gods created the Triforce, the land they placed it in grew holy, and eventually turned into the Sacred Realm. I'd imagine that it was placed in Hyrule, and gradually copied the land it was in into a sacred version. Kinda like what goes in The Mists of Avalon... but I suppose I can't expect any of you to have read that.
But what I said in my first post is more or less the extent of the official information on the nature of the Golden Land. And no, the Gods do not live there. It's just an extension, a mirror, of Hyrule. And Ganon is sealed there by the Seven Sages at the end of OoT. According to the LttP manual, he was sealed there by the Seven Sages during the Imprisoning War. Personally, I think the Imprisoning War and OoT are one and the same, but for those who believe otherwise, that's another time he was sealed there. EDIT: To expound on that, the Golden Land becomes the Dark World when Ganon gains the united Triforce. At that time, Ganon wishes to conquer the world - so the Dark World turns dark and evil, as it is changed to fit Ganon. Once it is the Dark World, everyone who enters there is transformed into a shape that reflects that person's inner heart. Link turns into a rabbit, one of the NPCs turns into a ball, etc., etc. Anyone who possesses the Moon Pearl is immune to that. Oh, and in OoT, The Light Temple is located in the Golden Land. And the Chamber of Sages is located within the Light Temple. |
