Misconceptions you have (or had) about the Zelda series.

Basically, just put in what you thought happened in the Zelda series but wasn't actually true.

EX: At first, I thought Zelda had snobby people in the game because of their movements and the little sounds they made.

^That actually happened, but not anymore.

In OoT, when i read the message in Zora's River that says that when the king sleeps, then the waterfall dies down, so i actually waited until the king went to sleep until i figured that it was impossible to get to Zora's Fountain.

Also, i thought Majora's Mask (the big baddie) was a good guy, because Zelda's Lullaby reminded me of that guy. (Note: I thought Zelda was Majora's Mask because i had a rental OoT that had already done the "Meeting with Princess Zelda".

In WW, i was visiting Dragon Roost Island and when i looked at the river thingy that dried up because of Valoo (It's the area that Medli tells you to throw her to the other side so as she can reach Dragon Roost Cavern), i thought this was Hyrule drying up.

Man, look how confused i was when playing the Zelda games. ._.;

When I was little, I thought that the Zoras in LoZ were some kinda futuristic battleships.

When I was younger, my cousin told me that ReDeads come back to life and are much more powerful. He also said that a giant blue ReDead was in the well and was unusually powerful. We both were confused.

Re: Misconceptions you have (or had) about the Zelda series.

When I was young and judging games by their covers, I thought the Zelda series was just about some guy named Zelda running about in a dress. Link's Awakening was out by the time I was corrected.

Re: Misconceptions you have (or had) about the Zelda series.

When I first played OoT, I thought Zoras and Gorons were baddies because of the references made in past games (there were mountainous "squirel-like" creatures named Gorons in ALttP and they've reappeared in FSA, however, they haven't been given another official name like the Zoras(baddies) have changed to River Zoras).

Link named Zelda

Now be honest with this question. When you first played or heard of the game Zelda, did you all think that Link was called Zelda? I did, and all my freinds did too. How I found out that his name was Link was on Super Smash Bros.

Re: Misconceptions you have (or had) about the Zelda series.

Yes, I too thought Link was called Zelda until Smash Bros. (All Hail Smash!!!!)
Also, I was one of the unfortunate ones who thought the WW style of art ruined the Zelda series (not anymore of course).
In addition to this (this bit is really stupid), when I was little, I thought that the only Zelda game was OoT and I just always referred to it as "that Zelda game". Man, how wrong I was!

Misconceptions I've had about the Zelda series...

I thought they were stupid. I was obsessed with Mario at the time. Then, I played Oracle of Ages a bit and I was proved wrong.

Re: Misconceptions you have (or had) about the Zelda series.

When I first played Ocarina of Time, I thought Link's name was... Bean. I had been watching my friend's brother play the game before I had bought it for myself, and that's what he had named his character. Bean. And it somehow fit. Well, actually, before I saw any of the gameplay and just saw the cover of the box, I thought Link's name was Zelda. But that theory only lasted for a few hours. Bean had made a lot more sense to me, so it stuck.

It wasn't until I saw a player's guide in the store that I found out that his real name was, alas, not Bean. It was a bit of a depressing moment for me, actually. It took me a long while to remember to refer to him by his true name, and not "Bean" or just "the little kid in the green hat".

Re: Misconceptions you have (or had) about the Zelda series.

Well when i first saw Ganondork for the first time through the window i thought he was the king of hyrule before Zelda said he was an evil Gerudo.

I thought Impa was there to kill me when i first saw her. I thought that if you rolled on the web in the Deku Tree it would break.

I also thought that if King Zora didn't hurry up moving out of the way i would have tried shoving my sword up his back side.

Before entering Gerudo Valley i thought it was a dwelling for Gorons and i thought if you put a bomb down for the first time it would blow a huge hole wherever it was placed.

Funny how i remember these things.
