Re: Zelda ever bring you to tears?

Hm...alright..I know this may seem a little pathetic, but..during that one scene in OoT when Link goes to Kakariko Village and finds that the houses are on fire, I....think I actually might have cried during that part... =( What made it worse was when Sheik was there blabbing on about..the stuff in the well..He (Or whatever you believe Sheik is supposed to be xD) looked so...sad.. ;_; But of course, my emotions turned right around when I looked at Link to see if he looked sad at all, and since he looked axactly the same with that almost "angry" look, I just starting cracking up. xD Then I felt bad again when Link and Sheik got hit by the shadow thingy..

Re: Zelda ever bring you to tears?

I never quite cried at a Zelda game, but nearly in WW. For example, when you get the shield from Granny, then the sad music comes on. I can't get through that part without feeling all emotional. Also, just before that when Aryll is nabbed by Helmaroc King, and Link runs at the cliff to try and save her, I felt like I really had to maim that evil bird! Geez, what else... I think that's it. Oh yeah, I did cry once because of a Zelda game. I'd been playing ALttP for 6 and a half hours, non-stop. I was about to beat Ganon, I had a bet going with my friend about how far through the game I could get in one day without saving. Just as I landed the final hit on the ugly git, something terrible happened. The batteries in my GBA ran out. I lost £20 because of that, and it took me weeks to beat Trinexx again. Yes, that did move me to tears, but for the wrong reason.

Re: Zelda ever bring you to tears?

I've never cried, but I remember taking in a gasp of true shock and feeling complete dread and fear when I stepped into Hyrule Market as an adult for the first time. I was all excited to see it in the future and then of course, got the shock of my life when I saw what it had become.

Re: Zelda ever bring you to tears?

Zelda has brought me to tears like when I first watched the trailer for the new zelda, and other than that I dont think ,or at least I dont remember, any Zelda games or anything Zelda in general has ever made me cry, except I got emotional like on the verge of crying when Link had to leave his granny in WW and it plays the sad music like Master of Chaos said earlier.

I've never cried ovea Zelda game, except maybe when one was taken away from me. Otherwise, I feel more proud or determined when a touching or sadistic cut-scene comes on.

Re: Zelda ever bring you to tears?

I've come real close to it some times, everyone here menchined all the emotional parts, except for maybe one, in LA, you finally beat the final boss, and your like awsome I beat him, but then you instantly remember that for beating him, the windfish awakens, making the island, and all the friends go byebye. That's pretty powerful. I get all other feelings too. Like if I'm not crying(for like end of the game parts), I'll be yelling WOOT. running around, or just plain turning nice, ahh. I like Zelda games, and Zelda games Like me, and everyone else here who has been touched.

Yes...

Because of the way my life has been ever since the age of three, Zelda (especially the more recent installments) hve touched me in such a way that when i beat a Zelda game (OoT 357.4 times and counting), I am scarred for days, and everyone i know can tell that there is somethhing bothering me...

These games are awesome! They Make me Laugh, Cry (a lot), jump for joy, fear the unknown enemy, and overcome the greatest obstacles of human emotion... Awesome series...

Not to mention all the Game elements that support one of the coolest stories in the world.

Re: Zelda ever bring you to tears?

Well, in Majora's Mask, the first time I played it, it took me forever to win the Goron Race in the spring, but when I finally won, I found out that I couldn't get the Gilded Sword because it was the second day. I cried because I had to re-win the Gold Dust...

Re: Zelda ever bring you to tears?

EEEEEEEEEE! When I beat Oot for the first time I was crying threwout the game! Lol...I was little though.
I cried when Link left the forest for the first time on the bridge. When Saria gave him the Fairy Orcania.
Also at the very end When Zelda had to send Link back to his own time even though they wanted to be together.
Oot ws a sad game, but it had the best storyline yet! I think it's only matched by Tww. ....And possible LOZGCN, but we don't know yet do we?

Has a Legend of Zelda game ever impacted you in a way to bring tears to your eyes?

Only read bellow if you have beaten The Wind Waker

Now, I’ve beaten The Wind Waker before and nothing happened. It just didn’t click before. Just last week I got it again because I lost my old copy. So I’ve been playing and finally beat it Sunday night. Something just really struck me this time around. The final battle and sequences before and after were just amazing. The way Ganondorf seemed more sadistic than ever, the way Daphnes Nohansen Hyrule stepped up and made the wish on the triforce to correct his wrong doings, the way Link and Zelda knew they were in it together and had to work together to stop Ganondorf touched me also. After Link stabbed Ganondorf in the head and he mumbled "heh heh...the wind...it is blowing..." is when I started feeling impacted emotionally. Then Hyrule started to flood and the king gave his speech about correcting his wrong doings and admitting he was wrong, and how he sacrificed himself all he’s ever loved and known for the future of these kids. He died with Hyrule.

Then Link tried swimming against the current towards him and reached out his hand only for it to be too late and the current drug him upwards. That’s when I started to tear up. Then when Link and Tetra gain consciousness floating on the ocean and the pirate ship was waiting for them, but more importantly...the way Aryll and Link looked at each other in relief and happiness just made the tears keep flowing. All through the credits the tears just kept flowing. They started to slow...and then at the very very end when Link leaves along side the pirate ship and Tetra to seek new land, Link exchanges a look with his sister and grandma that was just worth a thousand words, brought the tears back, and then to top it all of, Aryll runs down the dock waving. I just say back for awhile to take in the moment after that.

I know this is a long post, but forgive me. Its late.

Through out the game, the whole Link/Aryll situation touched me in a way it didn’t my first time through, from the time she was kidnapped, the time Link almost rescued her, the time Link did rescue her, to the time it was all finally over I really gained a sense of love they have for each other. The way it was animated and executed was done perfectly. I cant even listen to the Aryll's theme or other TWW songs with the melody in it without being taken back a bit.

The other thing that got me is that I’ve been playing Zelda since the first game came out, my mom even played and beat the first one. No game or game series has ever intrigued me like this one has. I grew up Zelda. But when the King of Hyrule flooded Hyrule, that touched me greatly. Hyrule is as important to the series as Link and Zelda to me. But it was gone, destroyed. Ganondorf was sealed away once more, and I believe the King made the right decision in doing so...but I just couldn’t help but to be saddened by the moment.

But yea, that’s my story about how The Wind Waker made me tear up. I wasn’t sobbing or really crying hard. But tears flowed from my eyes a good 10 minutes while I felt a sense of being overwhelmed by it all. My great aunts funeral was Friday and I didn’t even cry or shed one tear there. But this game was powerful enough to me to bring me to tears. This makes this game my own personal favorite of the series...so far.

The reason I share this here is because I cant explain to family or friends how I feel. You have to play Zelda and experience it to have a sense of understanding to how I feel. You have to know Ocarina of Time, Majora’s Mask, have to know The Legend of Zelda and Adventure of Link. Its hard to explain to them given the long story how this could bring me to tears.

So I thought I would step up and share it with other Zelda fans to see how many have had this experience with any of the games, or how many can relate.
Yes, it has. Though I almost hate to admit it, TWW brought my to tears when you see your grandma again and she gives you the soup.

Re: Zelda ever bring you to tears?

I have never cried in a video game, book (with one exeption), or a movie. The reason probably is I'm not old enough to understand well enough to cry. Another thing is their only imaginary people in an imaginary land. So, what's so sad? Now, if were based on a TRUE story now...

Re: Zelda ever bring you to tears?

I'm a very emotional person, and I have to agree with other Zelda gamers about the scene of Link leaving Kokiri Forest for the first time being one of the most emotional scenes ever in OoT (I still get goosebumps when I think about it). Also another very intense scene from OoT (and I don't think that I'm the only one who believes it) was that one time when Link and Shiek met outside the Light Temple (in the desert), just when you started to worry about whatever happened to that owl who used to be your friend as a kid,and you see him flying above Link and Shiek without neither of them noticing. This scene touched me in a deep way because it made me think about how real friendships are never forgotten, and it also made me feel like he (the owl, I'm sorry I don't remember his name) was always there for Link, watching him from some hidden place, caring for him, just like Link never forgot about him. If you read my post please let me know if I'm not the only one who was touched by this thank you.

Re: Zelda ever bring you to tears?

Yeah, I've cried from Zelda games before... "Majora's Mask" had some good moments...

I think the 'Song of Healing' is an emotional song, especially when you hear it completely inside the Clock Tower, through the doors. All the scenes when you have to use it to help someone: Darmani, Mikau, and Pamela's father; it's all so emotional.

I also think the 'Oath to Order' is a touching song like that too, but more mysterious in a way. The whole thing with the Four Giants, being friends with the Skull kid, saving the world of Termina by holding up the moon, it's emotional also.

And the whole subquest of uniting Kafei and Anju... It's just so memorable. At the end when they were finally together again.. I cried a little. It made me happy that they were finally reunited, but knowing that the moon would crash in a matter of minutes.. It was so sad...

Zelda games are just really good for emotional stuff like that. ^_^

Special Feelings in OOT

This may seem a little lame but, I thought I'd talk about it anyway. When I played OOT (collectors eddtion) and beat it, I felt sad. I dont know if any of you guys feel this way, but I left this feeling in me. It was emotional. The whole Land of Hyrle and Link, the owl, Zelda esspecialy Saria made me feel weird inside. I may be taking this too seriously though. Now when ever I smell smoke from campfires, it reminds me of Zelda. It's weird. Its like Zelda's a part of me or somthing. If Im taking it to seriously, please tell me, and if you get emotional about tell me.

Maybe you are taking it a little seriously, I'm not trying to be cheeky or offensive so please don't take it the wrong way. Some thing do remind me of a computer game but it's usually silly things I don't get as emotionally connected as you do with computer games.
