Un-Heroic Hero

what is the least heroic/ stupidest thing you've ever done in a zelda game.

mine is probably when i "charged" into the temple of fire in oot. I didnt see the hole to go into it and instead of climbing down the ladder i fell and died...it was really pathetic to see teh hero of time charge to a temple then sudenly fall into a pot hole and die...lol

Re: Un-Heroic Hero

I took a sadistic pleasure in seizing the thieves in Kakariko Village and breaking pots with their heads in HA. I've seen people use the Stone Mask for questionable purposes around the Gerudo in MM, too.

Re: Un-Heroic Hero

i once charged right into the gerudo fortress in Oot and knock the 3 walking guards out by riding past them and using epona as a weapon, you have to be careful not to charge into them or you'll stop. but it was stupid cause that wasn't heroic.

Re: Un-Heroic Hero

Hehehe, this one is a little embarassing to say. When ALttP first came out, I played it for hours until I finally reached the first dungeon in the Sacred Realm. Well I finally beat the dungeon...but not the boss (Helmasaur King). When I first saw the Helmasaur King, I must have pissed in my pants a little. That dude looked scary (to me at the time). I didn't know what to do or how to beat him. Since I got the Magic Hammer in the level, I thought you needed that to kill him...I couldn't have been more wrong. So he killed me.

Here comes the un-heroic part. I stayed away from the game for about 2 weeks because I was afraid of the boss. After awhile I got some courage back and fought the Helmasaur King again and again until I found his first weakness....bombs. When I saw his green jewel on his forehead, I knew that had to be his weak spot. What did I do? Did I shoot arrows at him? No. I used my Pegasus Boots and Sword and charged at him. It worked, it damaged him, but it damaged me the most. After that (and plenty of potions and fairies) I soon figured out that I could just use my Bow and Arrows. How stupid I was back then.

Re: Un-Heroic Hero

Sometimes I am unable to mount Epona in OoT. It looks quite un-heroic to see the HoT running into his horse. I was scared of Bongo-Bongo and stayed away in defeat for at least 2 months. I beat him on my first attempt back.

You use the hammer to make his mask break off..............

Anyway, let's see...in OOT, I used to play up until the shadow temple and then I stopped and made a new file, because I hated the shadow temple sooo much.

Actually, I still do that with LttP. Once Agahnim sends me to the dark world, I start over. IMO, the dark world dungeons are too annoying. I've already beaten the game, and the dark world dungeons are just way too annoying, lol.

Sometimes I have trouble mounting Epona as well, lol.

Re: Un-Heroic Hero

How about trying to shoot butterflies with Fire Arrows? That's fun. And physically impossible. Another thing was, while fighting the two Iron Knuckles in Ganon Castle on OoT, deciding to use the Megaton Hammer. I calmly pressed the left C button, which usually houses the Hammer, and started, for some reason, swinging an empty bottle around. Turns out some joker switched my items while I was getting a drink. Needless to say, I got pummeled.

Really?! Stupid me. I've always been using bombs (it only takes three bombs to take his helmit off). What you do is wait for him to go to the left or right, plant a bomb in the middle (time it right), and when he comes back a section of his helmit will come off. Just out of curiosity, how many whacks with the Hammer does it take to take the helmit off (just trying to see which method is more practical)?

Hehehe, don't feel bad. Here's a comic from vgcats.com that reminded me of your little situation. Enjoy:

I'm not sure, but quite a few more than three. I always do it though. I never have liked using limited ammo.

About FrizzyFrizbie's. I did the same thing, except I escaped with more health. They trapped me in a corner. XD

Lol that comic is funny, after playing Zelda I will never look at chickens in the same way, there's nothing less hero like than being ambushed by a group of mad cuccos.

Re: Un-Heroic Hero

I've nearly lost my voice several times screaming from post-traumatic keese disorder. Toss me in a room full of Iron Knuckles and one fire keese. The keese will be the only one alive in the end. They do all kinds of unfortunate **** to me. It's un-heroic because one will always kill me after I've just offed a sub-boss on a half a heart or something.

Re: Un-Heroic Hero

My most Un-Heroic thing in Zelda. Hmmmm...
Probably throwing Medli into the wall on Dragon Roost in TWW. Seriously! Do you think that a hero would try to throw an innocent person into the wall. Doesn't seem very nice to me, lol. I also like it when you speak to her a few seconds later. She says things like, "Link, since when did you become triplets?"

Re: Un-Heroic Hero

One of the most un-heroic things i did was once i saved makar from his cell in the wind temple, i took him up to the top of the room and i threw him down into the giant hole in the room. I don't think a normal hero would do that once he has saved someone

Speaking of throwing people, in Lord Jabu Jabu in OOT when I found Ruto I would throw her across rooms and use her as a weapon against those bubble things. Very herioc.

Re: Un-Heroic Hero

Probably one of the dumbest (and most amusing) things that I'll do is make the Hero of Time play chicken with a Peahat. The same thing always happens, it's not like the Peahat is suddenly going to turn and fly away, but I still enjoy making Link look all manly and charge at it.
