Re: i have a question regarding ganondorf
I think the gerudo works like this, a gerudo live for 101 years before the last year the dad gerudo has a kid. Or they might be like this one frog that can chang its sex.

Re: i have a question regarding ganondorf
Ya know what I think? I think one should leave touchy matters such as this alone. Some guy in the plot design section of Miyamoto's big "Zelda Factory" just came up with the fact that he's born becuase he's the main villan! Not because of frogs or immortallity or whores, ITS JUST BECAUSE THEY NEED A VILLAN! And notice how in all through OOT he doesn't mention his life in Guerdo Fortress, and only mentions it once in WW. So drop it.

Re: i have a question regarding ganondorf
In FSA, this question is answered, and the myth is changed. "A 'special child is born every hundred years,'" as opposed to "one man born every hundred years." Though the new version is cornier, it makes more sense.

Re: i have a question regarding ganondorf
...No, FSA just dosen't go into the same detail. All the gerudo are still female but him as far as we can see, and the child born is the mighty guardian of the Gerudo and the desert. Or the desert and the temple, or something. Can't remember exactly.
But OoT's assertions still stand. |

I have wondered that, too... and to make it more puzzling, have you noticed how most of the female Gerudo seem to be around the same age? I don't recall seeing Gerudo children running around anywhere either, which makes me think that the Gerudo are like cookies, just made in batches from the same cookie-cutter...
Gingerbread women. And every now and then the baker accidentally drops some walnuts into the mix... Ach, I don't know. Maybe some things in the game just weren't meant to be analysed with a fine toothed comb.

Re: i have a question regarding ganondorf
OK since this game was made by none of us we can not infer as to who the father of ganondorf was. but one thing that is probably a preety good guess is, does anyone see the simmilarities between the gerudo and the amizon? Well the amizon kidnapp men and mate with them to have children and then kill the male father and the male children. do you think that the gerudo do the same thing. well thats what i think. because a lot of things in zelda were taken from actuall real life such as the symbol in the mirror sheild in the original Oot(before they changed it in the new versions) is the symbol for muslims and where you find that mirror sheild looks exactly like the area that muslamic people originate from. And the triforce symbol could be found on a lot of old buildings in Japan. well so there you go ok.

This question comes up everywhere. It's never been answered and I don't think it will. It is cool however to think about it.

Re: i have a question regarding ganondorf
Yeah, interesting question, but like Ganondorf said it probably is not really ment to be answered. I mean it never really menitons who Links actual parents are-does it? What would also be interesting to know is how OLD this guy is, i mean he does not necessarilly have an age-but still!

Re: i have a question regarding ganondorf
Well, if you look at the "Old Beane's Sauce" thread stickied to the top of this forum, you'll find this little tidbit offered by a gossip stone:
Quote:
As to the change from "every hundred years a male is born" to "every hundred years a special child is born"... well, in a society where almost every baby born is female, any male WOULD be special, don't you think? The new quote can easily mean the same thing as the old quote, and this has the added advantage of not having to throw out information learned before, and also explains why every Gerudo you ever come across is female. As to why they're all the same age? I blame this on engine constraints alone. A lot easier to make one model and copy it repeatedly for different people. As for a suspension of disbelief theory, I'd say that the guards for the fortress... you know, the only gerudo you ever see... would all be chosen based on prowess in fighting. Look at our military today: the grunts mostly consist of guys between the age of eighteen and twenty-something, right? Easy explanation right there. All the other gerudo women are off elsewhere and you don't encounter them for the same reason you never see farmlands and the population of the world can be measure in dozens instead of the thousands or millions that you would expect. |

Re: i have a question regarding ganondorf
Just as I put it before and now Fieari says it: GERUDOS WERE PROSTITUTES. They were thieves, bandits, pirates, and prostitutes. Thats why they are outcasts. And the reason they are different from other tribes is that a male is born every 100 years. Its somthing that makes their bodies different. Just like how Zora are fish people. They are different. If Gerudo were just ordinary people they wouldnt have their own tribe.

Re: i have a question regarding ganondorf
Yeah they probly be just normal hylians. but there not they only give birth to a man every 100 years!!!! i think that a gerudo girl might do something like asexual reprduction. ethier that or they are all lesbeians. AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Re: i have a question regarding ganondorf
It is obvious that the stork only delivers female Gerudos until it is time for a male....duh.
I do have a question though!!! In Majora's Mask, are the pirates referred to as Gerudos? If so, would that mean that the "100 year male" rule would still apply!? Does this answer the "paralell to Ganondorf" question? Meaning: Link came to Termina during the time where there was no male Gerudo? DOES THAT MEAN IT IS A PIRATE STORK!?! |
