The other day I was looking up about celtic costumes, gods, culture, music, etc, and I noticed something.
One of the Celtic Gods is named Epona! And do you know what type of God is she?? Exactly, Epona is the Godess of the Horses!!! Do you think Nintendo invented the name and coincidentaly it was the same name of the Horse Godess, or do you think Nintendo knows that and gave the horse that name on purpose??? I vote for the second option! As I saw more characters have names from different cultures and myths! If you know more things like this please post here ! ![]()

Re: Epona --- the name...
It is good that games do that because it makes the game more realistic. It gives meaning and background to the characters.

Re: Epona --- the name...
I think Nintendo uses alot of stuff like legends, myths and even gods in their games. So I dought it was on accident...yep it was planned (but don't tell anyone I told you
)

Re: Epona --- the name...
Zelda Symbolisms
Courtesy of The Odyssey of Hyrule, there's an article discussing all the different symbolisms in Zelda 64. Epona is mentioned in there, among other things. Kind of cool. |

Re: Epona --- the name...
Wierd... we just finished a mythology chapter in school and I dont remember... probably sleeping
Anyway, lost lee is right. Ive noticed it too. Its pretty cool. Mythology is borrowed everwhere. I remember a manga being called 'Ceres' once... thats the goddess of something. I think harvest and nature.
