Grief counseling: Oot among the missing
Well I'll start by saying hello to you all. I'm not necessarily new to the Zelda series but I am new here. Frankly I'm not sure if this thread is in the right forum, but I feel it is related in a way to Zelda. So here goes my first post:
Perhaps if I had a Lens of Truth handy I might be able to weed out the location of my OoT cartridge, but I just had a revelation so shocking that it triggered a violent explosion in my ribcage (and generally, I'm pretty sure those are bad). For Xmas of '98 my aunt whom I love dearly gave me the one gift that has brought me more enjoyable memories than I have experienced in real life itself. Which tells you that A) I lead a very exciting life, and B) This... was one hell of a game! But I won't get all broken up--I'll just get to the point. I think I traded in my OoT cartridge. I've looked everywhere in my house that it could possibly be and I still can't track it down. Mind you, I'm the type who couldn't find sand on a beach, but it's either there... or it's not! And I don't think it is. I think I sold the hours of immeasurable joy and wonderful memories to have money towards an... ugh, Xbox. That I don't even play! What does that tell ya? I got Xbox and I'm goin' back to the N64! And with that my mental capacity has been breached. I shall now attempt to mow my lawn with a handcrank eggbeater. |

Re: Grief counseling: Oot among the missing
I feel sorry for you man. If I lost my Zelda cartridge I'd feel awful too. The best thing to do is try to remember where you last had it, and check with your siblings (if you have any) to see if they played with it or took it or something. IF you did trade it that would suck.

Heh heh, you make me giggle New_Atrocity. Though this thread probably doesn't belong here, I must express my sympathy for you. Eggbeater lawn-mowing, now that's intense! You're a wreck w/o your OoT. Umm...that's odd that you can't seem to remember if you pawned it or not, but uh...good luck finding it, or getting another cartridge.

Re: Grief counseling: Oot among the missing
If you cant remember if you pawned it or not you are one of two things A)someone who has amnezia. or... B) ME!!!
I have had a similar instance before, and i would suggest that instead of getting a new oot cartridge, get the collectors disk(if you have a gamecube) If that is not an option, dont worry one can easily find a used one at stores such as gamestop or funcoland, and trust me they will not cost any more than 20 bucks(sew me if I am wrong) but dont worry they're easy to come by (except in your house.) Just look a while longer and if you still dont find it buy a new one. SEARCHING TIPS: look in unordinary places, clean your room, clean other places it might be; if you follow those three tips well enough it should turn up, OH, and dont forget to search in obvious places, as out in the open is the best place to hide something.

Re: Grief counseling: Oot among the missing
That... sucks. Ass.
Shouldn't be to hard to find a new one, though... In my area, at least, every shop that sells used games always has at lest three copies of OoT in stock. Assuming it's anything like that where you are.. well, what are you waiting for? ![]() And welcome to the forums.

Re: Grief counseling: Oot among the missing
I know your pain. When you've got a brother who tends to sell off old games, fighting off the cravings to play Super Mario 64 can really be tough.
![]() But, don't despair: it's easy to find another copy of Ocarina of Time. Just about every video game store that sells used games is going to have at least a copy or two in stock (and even a gold cart if you're really lucky). And, it should only cost you about five dollars to pick it up too, so I doubt that money is much of an issue. If you really want, you can also buy it new, I suppose...if you can find it. I've seen new copies of Majora's Mask in stores as little as a few months ago, but I'm not sure about Ocarina. |

Re: Grief counseling: Oot among the missing
My brothers know that it would be certain death to even thouch my old games without permission, let alone loaning them.
The thought of my OoT cartridge in the grubby hands of one of my bratty little brother's bratty friends... *shudder*

Re: Grief counseling: Oot among the missing
I have experienced moments of not knowing where my games are, but not for long. I feel your pain, but you can always start over on a new one. Master Quest is fairly similar to the origanal I beleive, but it would probably be easier to find the origanal on the collectors disk or cartridge.
