Post Any Female Link supporters here?

I feel like i'm the only one. Or Anyone that doesn't really care about link being a girl? Personally, i'm all in for female link but not permanently. I don't think a Female Link would break the franchise, but it will if the concept is handled poorly.

I don't mind myself either.

I'm all for it. But knowing Link's role and reputation for Nintendo, I doubt the idea will become reality, ever.

I think of it like a shock if they were to make Samus a man in one of the Metroid games. It'll be a little odd for the fans, y'know?

Re: Any Female Link supporters here?

I think that instead of switching the gender of an established character, i.e. Link, Nintendo could create a new heroine for a Zelda game instead, or even feature Zelda herself as the main protagonist.

More than anything, having Link be female will make explaining which one's Link and which one's Zelda to non-Zelda fans so much more of a nightmare. It's easier to just say, "Link's the boy, Zelda's the girl, got it?"

I'm pretty keen on Samus being a man. I agree that nintendo may never make it into a game but if they do, I'm welcoming Female Link with open arms no matter what anyone say. There has been many arguments about this. many saying that link is a establish character. Well, things can change.

I somewhat agree. I'm manly asking who would welcome female link with open arms.

Re: Any Female Link supporters here?

While I'm against the idea now, I would probably change my mind the moment I played such a game. I'm a traditionalist, so the idea of a female Link is weird to me, but in the end, the gender of the protagonist doesn't determine the soul of the game. I would still enjoy it as long as everything else in the game was still true to the Zelda series.

Re: Any Female Link supporters here?

It won't happen.

Women are considered weak -for the most part- in Japan. Why else is Zelda such a useless moron if she supposedly has one of the three highest magic capabilities in all of Hyrule?

I, personally, don't see a problem with it, but it won't happen.

This topic has been brought up so many times... And I reply with the same thing every time.

Re: Any Female Link supporters here?

Um it would be interesting if this new game actually told the story to all zelda fans that the original Link was actually female. The story of the first courageous hero coming into being and facing the first odds (like how characters make fun of Link's clothes or question what such a little kid is doing. The role would remain the same.) I think a female makes a very good serious main character and would fit Link well, and a male sidekick fairy would be a lot more humorous even though I don't like sidekicks.

Zelda is kind of a redundant figure and doesn't need to be in all the games just because it's named after her. I'd too prefer some new Prince character that resembles Zelda symbolically but has a different role or personality or something. Maybe a mean type who seems like an upcoming rival, but as the story goes on you realize all the bad rumors about him are a lie and he's very good-natured and wants to fix all the corruption.

I doubt it would be odd. Maybe at first play, but it would catch on pretty quickly.

Re: Any Female Link supporters here?

Hey, I got an idea. Why not one more game with the Hero of Time in which at the beginning or middle of the game he gets turned into a girl? I mean, he has already changed age and species (and traumatized in the process) so why not gender? (yeah I know the guy is gonna end up in the madhouse but it would be fun).

That wouldn't be that fun of a game. Would the final part be opening doors for Link in Ganon's Tower, and then watching him save the day? That would probably work better as a manga series. The twist would be that Ganon would kill Link, and it was actually the failed timeline all along.

I have nothing against the idea of one of Link's incarnations being a girl. Before anyone says anything about how girl Link can't have a romantic relationship with a princess, may I ask why not?

I don't see the point in making Link a female. He's always been male, and just like Eternal Legend pointed out, it would be a shock if Samus were to be a male, and it'd be a shock if Link were to be a female.

Re: Any Female Link supporters here?

Why are people comparing this idea to Samus becoming male? There's only one Samus, but there are multiple Links. They're not even close to being the same scenario.

Haha no I said during the 7 years, not during the same time as Link as an adult. and I thought it could end with her completing the temple of light in the sacred realm and awakening the first sage and waking up link, but that was just my idea I've just always really liked sheik and thought that instead of making a stupid tingle game, I'd personally rather have a spinoff game with her

Re: Any Female Link supporters here?

A female Link as a NPC would be okey. And I could see her working like a "new" Sheik, doing her own missions to help out Link.

Re: Any Female Link supporters here?

I don't really see the point of having a female Link, especially seeing as it would only spawn more crappyslashfic/weird "fanart". Nothing against a female Link, really, but yeah.

Besides, it wouldn't make the game any better.

Re: Any Female Link supporters here?

I've seen this topic way to many times, and it's actually getting to the point of annoyance.

As much as Fem!Link would be interesting and I am actually interested in that concept as some-sort of project or experiment, but fans out there have to realise;

It's not going to happen.
Sure, maybe in a few years time if Nintendo will ever start taking some goddarn risks, but now?
Nope. Not going to happen.

Fem!Link? Great thing to test out; never going to happen.
Sheik's Game? Awesome idea; never going to happen.
Zelda's Game? Sweet idea; never going to happen.
Ganon's Game? I'd kill for that, but; never going to happen.

You guys have to realise that your ideals and fantasies are separate from reality.
Nintendo isn't a Western Developer-- what they view as appropriate is different. They're not going to pull a Fem!Shep move or any of that.
For as long as Nintendo is stubborn and sticks to their formula's, we may never get that Elder Scrolls oriented world for Zelda that I'm dying for.
((FINGERS CROSSED FOR RETRO STUDIOS))

You yearn and cry for something else, but whatever Ninty serves, it's something completely different, something no one has thought of and you all eat it up, wether you like it or not.

But hey, Tingle had his own game, so anything could happen?
Remember, story and character also goes in with gameplay. If there was a game starring Fem!Link or Sheik, I'd think they'd go down the MGS to MGR route;
renaming the game, keeping it under the same universe.

Now I'm blabbering on, not knowing what I'm talking about
tl;dr
