Sounds good, but would probably give feminists something new to ♥♥♥♥♥ about:

"This makes the whole series sexist because it portrays women as not good enough, because all Links thereafter are male! LUUUUURGH!"

If I said yes, would that make me sexist towards males?

I agree. I think it would really mess up the "Zelda is the boy" even further. I think it would be cool if you could play as Shiek, but you know...I'm not sure.

They did that with Super Princess Peach, as a spin off. It wouldn't be as popular, but it would work.

Re: Any Female Link supporters here?

They could do a female link in a game that comes before SS. It would be a female Link in appaerance but named Zelda. To finally explained why is the series call the legend of Zelda. Even if the name of the series was kinda explained in the ending of SS

Just to be clear, I'm all for a female Link. Whether male or female doesn't matter at all to me.

Re: Any Female Link supporters here?

i think a female link would change the feel of the game to much, but if you want a female protagonist i think Nintendo should make a spinoff with Zelda as the player character. i think one of the phillips games had her as the player but no one likes those

Re: Any Female Link supporters here?

I'd be okay with Zelda doing all the dungeon cralling while link was a prince or something, but randomly turning link into a girl just seems like it be to confusing, even for the fans that know which ones which.

They could do it like pokemon and if you pick link, zelda is the princess but if you pick zelda, link is a prince. Just randomly screwing the reincarnation cycle just seems dumb to me.

Re: Any Female Link supporters here?

Female Link would be really cool. I would really like to see it.

Only one problem that I see: There would be a horrible balance of sex. All protagonists would be female.

Re: Any Female Link supporters here?

I'm not against it at all, if Link is a female in one game for whatever reason I'll be just as happy provided it's a good game. But I simply see no need for it. Why bother? I don't see how it would affect story in any major way. What can happen to girls can happen to boys in the case of Zelda, unless they decide to focus on a certain time of month, which is never happening.

... The part about zelda and link makes no since and not only that, no sources say that link can't reincarnate into a female.

How about Link just having a twin sister and she helps you throughout your quest? And, occasionally, you might be able to control her? Just a thought.

But the hero's spirit is suppose to be a stand in for skyward sword link who was male. Zelda is a stand in for Hylia who was female. The only reason the reincarnation started was demised cursed them with undying hate or something. You can't just say here is a Girl because she will still technically hace the spirit of a man.

Re: Any Female Link supporters here?

It would be an unprecedented move, but I think an elegant solution would be to give players the choice at the beginning of the game to give their Link boy or girl parts.

Re: Any Female Link supporters here?

The common stance is that Link being a female would ruin his character...but what character does he have to ruin? Link is nothing more than our ingame avatar with the stereotypical "Hero" feel placed deep inside. Only when Skyward Sword released did he start to become his own character (part of why the game sucks so badly), and even then it was so marginal the difference goes unnoticed by most.

I fully support Link being a female.
