Music association and The Legend of Zelda

Most people love music, and most everyone that loves music associates songs to different experiences, people, etc. They have that special song that makes them think of that special someone, or that one song that brings them right back to when they were a kid.

I'm curious, fellow Zelda fans. Are there any songs that DO NOT appear in any of the games that you associate with the Legend of Zelda? Why?

Re: Music association and The Legend of Zelda

While I don't have any sentimental anecdotes about personal meaning I attribute to a piece of music in relation to experiences playing the games, there are a few songs I associate with the music of the series based on similarities tonal, melodic, or simply instrumental.

For instance, the theme for the Hidden Village in Twilight Princess I associate with the music of Ennio Morricone, perhaps most specifically the theme from For a Few Dollars More (Per qualche dollaro in piů). Compare:

The Legend of Zelda Twilight Princess - The Hidden Village Theme
For A Few Dollars More (Theme by Ennio Morricone)

I've also found that the introduction to Twilight Princess' Kakariko Village theme resembles the opening to the second movement of Mozart's Piano Concerto No.1:

The Legend of Zelda: Kakariko Village Theme Song HD
Mozart - Piano concerto no 21 - 2nd movement

To compare music of other video games to that of the Zelda series, I've recently discovered that this track from Murumasa: The Demon Blade has a melody that sounds a bit like the Ballad of the Goddess and later some vocals and instrumentation in the style of other music from contemporary Zelda games:

Oboromura Masa Ongaku Shu Henso no Maku~ Playing For Keeps - YouTube

Another comparison of this nature, I've noticed that this piece from Halo: Reach is reminiscent of the desert theme from Twilight Princess:

Halo Reach - Theme / menu song
Twilight Princess - Gerudo Desert Theme

Can you hear the sand?

Re: Music association and The Legend of Zelda

OP!!!!
I have a strange one for you!!
You see when OoT came out I was only 4 so playing the game on my own proved a challenge!!!!
My Dad took a shine to the game and together we started trying to beat the game. He did the controls while I helped with the puzzles (and killed Ganondorf)!!!! We would play in the evening because my Mum worked nights in the local shop, so for as long as I can remember I never associated my Mum with playing Zelda!!! Until one week In summer when she had the week off. She would play her music full blast through the house most evenings. Me and my Dad were on the Fire Temple at the time and the one song I can always remember playing while we were on this temple was this :planet perfecto - bullet in the gun - YouTube

Therefor I have always associated this song with the OoT Fire temple!

Another song would be HOTRS by the Animals Animals - House Of The Rising Sun - YouTube simply because I played it a lot last year while on a rerun of WW so I associate this song with WW!!

Re: Music association and The Legend of Zelda

I associate the Ending Theme of ALTTP with the Final Fantasy IV Prologue.

I associate the Ballad of the Goddess in SS with the main menu music of Allods Online.

Re: Music association and The Legend of Zelda

When my brother and I played through Twilight Princess, we made "Lonely Boy" by the Black Keys our unofficial anthem for boss fights. If I ever have time, I want to make a fanvid of that song combined with a mashup of boss and mini-boss fight clips from TP.

I'd love to play some Jimi Hendrix some day for the Forest Temple. I haven't tried it yet.

Re: Music association and The Legend of Zelda

I usually associate this song with playing Wind Waker whilst sitting naked in a dark room, drinking a glass of whiskey pondering about where my life went wrong. Is this real life?
