Zelda Movie?

Seriously though why has no big studio made a Zelda movie yet???

Theres...a myriad of reasons id imagine. One of them being Nintendo going "AWWW HELL NAW" after the fiasco that was the Super Mario Bros. movie. Notice that no Nintendo franchise has had a movie since. Also, like, it would be super expensive to make a GOOD Zelda film. Budget would have to be LotR-style big. Is there a production company bold enough to shell out that kind of budget? LAWL probably not. We all know 99% of video game movie adaptions smell like a butt unwiped. And most of the time, very cheaply made. (oh Uwe Boll, how i loathe you...)

Another roadblock is the story. Adapt from the games? Or make a new story....This can get troublesome. If adapting one of the games, one must take special care to adapt it faithfully. But video game films usually dont do that...like ever. So its always make new story. So like, if they made a story for a Zelda movie, it would have to make sense and flow well with the games. Or at least coherent enough to make sense with the games. I mean, you cant have a Zelda film include Navi or Midna or ♥♥♥♥ like that because..well obvious reasons.

In short, it would be a really difficult project to do and a financial gamble. Video game films usually dont do well in the box office. Only a small amount of them did ok. That and Nintendo would have to approve it and it doesnt look like they want to make movies out of their franchises. (Even when a film would work well....read: Metroid)

Ok I made a thread about a Zelda movie. And yes I have a script and stuff. So What I need Help is...I want you to tell me what you like about zelda and if it will fit in the movie I will add it to the script. I do not want the film to be stuff everbody hates. So could you help? Thanks!

Ok Mr.patrick guy I have a story that is not taken from the game and I even found a way to fit it in the timeline[it goes about 100 years before the first zelda}

As long as it isn't like that ♥♥♥♥ of "The Hero of Time", everything OK.

I'm making one too! I was going to make Link talk but then I realized I would have an uprising on my hands so don't do that. Get a good location and a lot of strong actors who actually resemble the characters. Try to keep it steadily paced so people don't doze and rehearse the fight scenes until you find yourself doing them in public out of muscle memory. GOOD LUCK MY GOOD SIR.

This has always annoyed me. Reasonable quality, totally CGI movies can be made even by comparatively low-budget companies, as shown by the Ultramarines Movie by Games Workshop ( I'm a nerd! But at least I'm a happy one).Why doesn't Nintendo do something similar? It would make a ****-ton of money, even if it was total bull****, so long as the trailer looked good and it went straight-to-DVD (STDVD films take longer to be assessed by critics).

I obviously don't WANT to see an awful Zelda movie, but my point is that there is NO real financial risk for Nintendo with this project, and potentially a LOT of financial gain to be had.

I REALLY WISH THEY WOULD but you know if they did.. we'd be up on this forum saying. this cant happen, how is this so, this is wrong...the fans of zelda are so passionate that if the film as a flaw we will bash that and get disgruntled

There actually was a Zelda show in 1989, wasn't there? Yeah, they really ruined Link's character, I heard. Made him seem like some dweeb in puppy love, following Zelda around, all lovesick and whatnot. I always pictured him as more of a mature, silent kind of dude.

I agree link will not be a idiot. He will act stronge,mature ,and have a littel fun sometimes.

Right. Link is supposed to be more like that, I would think. I wouldn't think of him as the kind of wisecracking wannabe teen they portrayed him as.

Yeah, post it on this. But I have a few questions: who's playing who? Also, is it going to be based on one of the games, or is it going to be a new story? If it's based on a game, which one? Which characters will it include?

Sounds great I am in the middle of getting props for my Zelda short series. I'm also into film. I just need a dang costume that I can get at a reasonable price. So I can make a 30 second clip as a teaser.

I always loved thinking about Ocarina of Time being a movie - that would be amazing!! or Twilight Princess either one has an amazing storyline!
