It was a catapult...

In TP a Cannon shot Link in Lake Hylia, but those don't count. When they say guns, I think something small and portable that shoots BULLETS. The closest we get is Link's Crossbow training.

Actually back in the 15th century "gun" was interchangeable with "cannon." So the OP is correct in saying Zelda did feature a gun. However, that wouldn't be the only one. There were cannons in PH and ST, and SS, and I feel like maybe there were in WW?

There's supposed to be an image of a revolver or something in Ocarina of Time -- I forget where, but I think it was one of the shops. Of course it's not an obtainable item or anything, but yeah.

Also, didn't Auru sport a badass bazooka/hand cannon near the ending? Tha would qualify as a gun, I think.

I believe that the Op was talking about Auru's rocket launcher thing.

Re: Fun fact about zelda and guns

Yeah, there are lots of cannons in the Zelda games, but no pistols or revolvers. A bow is more fun for a hero to use, anyway.

Yep, there was that one mounted on the front of Link's boat when he used the bombs at sea.

Re: Fun fact about zelda and guns

I don't get why some fans are so against "guns" in Zelda.

Ever heard of flint pistols or flintlock rifles?

They use the same method as cannons - gunpowder. People hundreds of years ago used these, especially pirates. Sure there was barely any "advanced" technology years ago, but these certainly exist. They're extremely simple pieces of technology compared to today's guns used in war and they're perfect for any Zelda game.

If WW has cannons and ST has trains, then there is no excuse for them to not include simplistic guns.

Re: Fun fact about zelda and guns

Yeah, some people just need to get over the fact that there are random pieces of higher technology in several games. Don't forget in Skyward Sword we have ancient robots, mine carts, and Beetle in SS has an air ship.

Sure was! There were plenty of boats in WW with cannons, plus you could equip one if you had bombs. Um...there was one other point I was trying to make....

Oh yeah! You can also play a cannon game if I remember correctly.
