Re: Do you think Gorons should be given a break?

Well... no.

But I do see what you mean with their random appearance in SS. They were just... there, without much of a backstory as to how they evolve - compared to the Zoras or the Kokiris.

I don't think so. But yeah, EL's right about their appearance in SS. There wasn't mych story there, was there? Although I've barely played SS, I don't remember any mention of evolution or anything.

Maybe, they have to write them better if they want to use them again.

Re: Do you think Gorons should be given a break?

Maybe they need a break. Hey, I just had an idea. Do the kikwi evolve into Dekus? Cause if so, why no Goron ancestors? Something that evolves into Gorons, but it's still a bit seperate.

Re: Do you think Gorons should be given a break?

I kinda liked their use in SS. THey are rocks, right? So it's kinda just that they have always been their since the creation of the planet. It made sense for them to always be there because they are the ever present stones of the world. It made sense to me, and maybe my linking is different. But they are collectors of information about the world, because they are rocks that are always kicking around. I agree tho that they should be written into the story better, like the way they tried to once it got to the fire Temple or whichever, where he was right there along side you as you went along.

The gorons are fun, lovable creatures! They feel more like a great race if there's a community of them (OoT, MM, TP, PH & ST) I think the gorons are great to have in the games. Gorko says the most hilarious things.

No, keep them in the games. And the Zoras. I was a bit disappointed by their absence in SS.

Is it possible the mogmas and gorons are some how related?

I think it's more likely than the Mogmas died out and then the Gorons just took over the mountain gradually, because they had no one to compete with.

Just my wild guess anyway.

If the parella evolved into Zoras, in theory, can't the mogmas evolve into Gorons?

Well... it does make more sense that the Parella would evolve into the Zoras. I'm not saying that it DID happen, but it's just more likely than a warm blooded creature suddenly becoming a rock-like creature overtime. And the Gorons already exist in SS.

Not nearly, but in every game since its first appearance in OoT. Even TWW, of all games.

To those who say they are made of rock, no. Not completely. Their stomach jiggles, you can see Darmani's flesh scar wound, and doing a Ground Pound jump shows some jiggling. And I'm pretty sure their eyes are organic, or else one won't request eye drops.

Anyway, what I'm wondering is why we don't see giant Gorons in a 3D Zelda game after MM anymore. So I won't want Gorons to take a break just yet, if only we will see the giant ones return.

True. I know I'm reaching here, but what if some sort of battle ensued between the Mogmas and Gorons.....for instance, the Goron's invaded Eldin Volcano and successfully took it over. Something happens to those mogmas. It's fishy that they disappear and the Goron's take their place.

Re: Do you think Gorons should be given a break?

Definatly not. Gorons are my favorite race. Plus I like how there is a tleast one race that comes back in everygame other then the humans, it helps connect games and plus the Gorons are an important race to hyrule!

Re: Do you think Gorons should be given a break?

Not so much that they should be given a break, but more along the lines that other races should be included in future installments and expanded upon.

Really, it's getting annoying with them introducing a new batch of races for each and every new console game. How many awesome races have we seen come and go as one-time gimmicks? Far too many, imo.

Rather then make new ones (which will most likely never see the light of day ever again soon after,) they should at least try to include or reintroduce some old, forgotten races and attempt to expand upon them, their cities and their culture. Not only does it act as a nice throwback to previous entries in the series, but it also fleshes out the world of Hyrule; making it seem more like an actual place with some grounded history then a constantly-changing amusement park attraction.

It's just that so many potentially awesome races have been wasted due to this "new gimmick" mentality. The only ones that managed to escape this cycle were Gorons and (to some extent,) Zoras.

Re: Do you think Gorons should be given a break?

If by "giving the gorons a break" you mean bringing in a new, random race to put in their place, then no. Nothing creates more dissonance in the series' lore than bringing in a new race for one game then having them never seen again. (Especially if it's intended for a new gameplay gimmick, and nothing more. Don't try telling me the City in the Sky wasn't just a dungeon concept that had a half-assed race built around it to validate it's existence).

If by "giving the gorons a break" you mean giving another established race the chance to be further expanded on, then sure.
