How do you feel when you see Zelda on TV or in the Mainstream?

Ok let me start off by saying, when I was little, and getting into zelda, it was kind of low in main media popularity, I maybe saw like 2 commercials for Zelda in a year.

So every time I saw it on TV or mainstream advertising, i'd lose my mind.

I still get kind of giddy when I see it on TV, or mentioned on TV, or in a magazine, but maybe I don't watch enough TV or Read enough magazines lol.

Anyway, what are your reactions when you see Zelda, on TV, or in any form of Mainstream media?

I'm drastically less excited these days, but I do still get a bit excited as I said.

I get a little excited but I don't freak out or anything.

Everyone knows about Zelda. It is mainstream. No big deal, as far as I'm concerned.

I remember watching the original ad for LOZ in '87, it got me excited!
Still does...

I squeal and point at the TV so everyone i'm around knows how excited I am. haha

I see Zelda ads plastered on the walls surrounding construction projects in Toronto, especially OoT 3D.

There was a pre-launch event for SS in the Toronto Eaton Centre and I was there with my plush Kirby toy.

Pretty happy if I'm honest. I like the idea of Zelda not being obscure.

That's definitely not true. Half the people I know at my school either have no idea what it is, or have just heard of it. I'm in an area where almost all everyone cares about is sports and social activities. I'm one of the few major nerds.

For me, it's like 93% of guys at my high school play CoD and of that 93% maybe like 15% know about Zelda, maybe 5% play pokemon, and like 2% play Zelda. -_- I'm tired of no one knowing/giving a crap about Zelda at school when I know there's so many fans out there.

My old friends were big fans of it...to bad things went bad with them... my zelda friends are all gone now

Only two of my friends know about the Zelda Series, the others play WoW, CoD, or Halo.

Excited, they are much rarer than ads for Pokemon or Uncharted 3!

I love it when people reference Zelda on TV. It makes me feel a little less forever alone.

It's nice, as long as it's not something utterly cringeworthy like Robin Williams and his daughter pretending to be hardcore Zelda nerds.

Whenever I saw anything like that, Mario, Sonic, especially Zelda, I would flip out and mash the volume + button. XD

ALMOST ALL of the friends I have on Xbox that I play Halo, Assassin's creed, battlefield, and the like with either bought Skyward Sword or at least own OoT.

I know, right? I'm less excited when Zelda is mentioned in media, and get giddy when I'm in the hallway and someone is wearing a triforce t-shirt. I get this silly grin on my face, and I debate whether I should say something to them, follow them around a while, or just ignore it.

I have to admit, though, I got a little excited when I saw my first Skyward Sword commercial on TV, since it was the first new release Zelda game I've cared about pre-release (I didn't get into Zelda until after TP was out). Seeing things I like in the media or anywhere, for that matter, makes me think, "Oh, yeah. I'm not the only one who gives a crap".

Well I know for a fact they haven't ever heard of the Zelda Series because I asked them so I'm not really acting anything out.

When I see Zelda mentioned in a major newspaper, Zelda is often mentioned as an also-ran to other games. Many mainstream news sources do not review Zelda, while they review many of the latest realistic gory games, which are more mainstream than Zelda these days. Not only that, even "unfunny" newspaper comic strips do not bother with mentioning Zelda at all (it mentions more mainstream games (though very age-inappropriate for one of the characters shown) instead):

I feel upset, but not too upset, since I expected that Zelda is not too mainstream.

I actually saw Zelda on a local news station recently. They were talking about videogames being brought to the Smithsonian, and some of the ones mentioned were Super Mario Bros. 3 and Twilight Princess. They even showed game footage.

Needless to say, I had a nerdgasm.
