Is Nintendo the type of company to listen to fan suggestions? I feel like they probably aren't. =( They're not Valve.

It would be awesome if they actually did that, but I highly doubt Nintendo even bother to consider fan-suggestions. But it would'nt hurt to send them an email anyway. There has to be a first for everything.

Majora's Mask, followed by Skyward Sword, followed by Oracle of Seasons.

An odd trio, I know.

You would need a pretty big outcry consisting of thousands of fans for them to even begin listening.

If it's just one person, you're basically just an ant on a picnic table that they'll easily ignore.

Re: Favourite Zelda Game

I now think the best Zelda game is definitely A Link to the Past. It is truly the most beautiful, most imaginative, most epic, darkest (much more than the pretend teen dark of TP) and has the most inspirational gameplay and best flow imo, despite being 2D. OoT/MM would be tied for 2nd though.

On a note of older Zelda games being limited... I just don't see how it's possible to say that when the epic remake, Twilight Princess, was so limited as to what you could do in the game, that you ended up just following a boring gameplay and having to deal with the story and graphics pretending to be more epic than the game really was. Majora's Mask is the clear winner for plain doing things and having fun with the Zelda series. My #1 complaint with Zelda is there isn't enough variety and quality with what you can do in areas, so these complaints about the older games and their limitations are just uncalled for when newer Zelda games are in fact worse.

Re: Favourite Zelda Game

Wind Waker for me.

It was a hard choice between TP and WW for me they're both awesome and they do tend to switch depending on my mood or the time of day... But WW unlike any other Zelda game can always make me smile and even though SS has a very similar transport system, there really is nothing quite like sailing the Great Sea in any other Zelda game or any other video game in general for that matter.

The story is great, the art style is fantastic, (used to hate it), Ganondorf's portrayal was wonderful and gave him a wonderful depth and to me, as well as been fun to play and wonderful to look at, WW is also the most poignant Zelda installment. Just a shame that the two DS sequels made a mockery out of the timeline that it started.

I agree! I think Wind Waker's portrayal of Ganondorf is my favourite of all his appearances. He has an amazing presence about him, dark, ancient and powerful.

For me it comes very close between Link's Awakening and Majora's Mask. Both tell amazing stories (And yes I know, Link's Awakening may seem a little pointless to some with the story's ending) But I loved them both! They had their own style, legends and twists.

I think Majora's Mask just about wins it though for me. Can't ever completely place why. I decided to celebrate it though with artwork tributes inspired by the game.

Re: Favourite Zelda Game

I always find it difficult to choose an outright favorite game in a series I like. I don't know how so many of you have such confidence in your choices. If I had to pick I would go with Majora's Mask. High quality dungeons, great atmosphere both in dungeons and in the overworld (Ikana was awesome), complex npc's, great sidequests.

Re: Favourite Zelda Game

I absolutely love The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time! Not only is it the Zelda game that I grew up with, The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time is also my favorite video game of all time, and I'm not just saying that because of how acclaimed it is on the internet. In fact, I proclaimed OoT to be my favorite video game before I even saw any top video games lists. One thing that I really like about OoT is that, unlike many other 3D Zelda games, there is not an excessive amount of filler or hand-holding. I love that Link is off to the first dungeon once he finds the sword and shield unlike other 3D Zelda games, such as Skyward Sword, where Link has to go through a lot of hand-holding just to get to the first dungeon. I also like how many dungeons can be completed out-of-order. On my first play-through of Ocarina of Time many years ago, I beat the Spirit Temple before I beat the Water Temple! I'm not saying that linearity is bad, but I really like the exploration as well as the ability to go almost anywhere I want regardless of how far into the game I am (the Gerudo Desert is an exception). I have to admit that my appreciation Ocarina of Time has plenty to do with nostalgia, but, then again, I doubt that anybody is able to give an objectionable opinion on their favorite video game of all time!

Re: Favourite Zelda Game

Ocarina of Time for me as well. First, i feel its one of the most balanced Zelda games concerning difficulty. Its neither too easy nor too hard. The way environments and gameplay changes is also very dynamic, pretty much never a dull moment. Puzzles, bosses or challenges never feels recycled or redundant. The variations in themes for the dungeons are maybe the most diverse of all Zelda games. You have a Forest Temple where the room twists, you have a dungeon inside the guts of a fish.. its just genius.

Not sure what games i would put next in ranking.

Re: Favourite Zelda Game

I'd say mine is a tie between Ocarina of Time and Majoras mask. The N64 was one of the only game systems I had when I was little so growing up with both games was a privilage and an honor.
Ocarina of Time introduced me to the series and I came to find myself playing it over and over to this day. The games story is just perfect and quests and dungeons are unforgetable.
Majoras Mask though had many great achievements as well including better graphics, missions, and items. The thought of being in a new land with the antagonist being one of your friends from the previous game is just briliant so really my favorite would have to be both if not all.

Re: Favourite Zelda Game

Mine has to be Major's Mask with Wind Waker right behind. I love Majora's Mask for the feeling you get when you play it the sense of desperation of the residents around you , I love dark things like this and it sets the mood for the game very well. You constantly have the end of Termina looming over your head, all of the souls in this land rest on your shoulders. They aren't simply being subjugated they are they are all going to die. So in a way I feel this pushes me when I play the game, and when I listen to someones sad desperate tale or plea for help I feel I have to help. This is why i love Majora's Mask and why I will always love it.

Re: Favourite Zelda Game

Still, Majora's Mask. Too dark and twisted to not be my favorite, and in my opinion it really pushed the system to it's limits (n64, obviously) to make a great enjoyable game. The only problem I have with it is the length not being as long as Ocarina, but the sidequests more than make up for that, especially Kafei's who predicament. So in short I love this game for the reasons all the previous reviews have stated

Re: Favourite Zelda Game

Ocarina of time. Its just the best. The story line was highly better then any other zelda game. The gameplay was better...the way links character is built beats the other games... The levels are better...The hyrule layout is better...its fun the WHOLE time....never boring....

and if i was aloud a 2nd placer it would be Majoras Mask...cuse it follows up Ocarina of time...and plays the same.
