Pretty self-explanitory. Which game has your favorite Intro/ Title/ Opening Scene, or, what I like to call, "Press Start Screens"?
Personally, my favorite is Ocarina of Time, because it's all so mellow at first, and then takes a turn and gets pretty epic at the end with the whole "Spirit Temple" scene, it leaves you thinking.. "wait, wtf!? I need to play this now!" And the music....... is just,....... breathtaking.
My second choice however would be LA, I mean, come on. Just epic.
Here they are to help refresh your memory :
"The Legend of Zelda"
"Zelda II: The Adventure of Link"
"The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past"
"The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening"
"The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time"
(This video is missing the part at the end where Link is in the Spirit Temple with Nabooru and gets attacked by Koume and Kotake, so don't forget about that )
As much as I like the 3D console Zelda games, a Link to the Past's opening, in my opinion, is takes the cake. The intro depicts Hyrule's dark history of greed and hatred. The seal once thought forever is threatened and the King of Hyrule is dispatched. As the final hour is approching and as the last candle of hope extinguishes, everyone wonders, who will save us?
I love all of them for different reasons... I love the background story of the LoZ, AoL, and ALttP, but the artistic simplicity of TWW was refreshing... Ocarina is special just because it's the first Zelda I played, but I've seen it so many times now lol... I love the intro to LA because it was just epic... And MM was awesome too, if only because I loved watching little Link sit in different areas of the town swinging his feet :3
I'm surprised to find myself wanting to go with Twilight Princess on this one. While it's not my favorite of the series, there was so much anticipation for it, and I remember a lot of us seeing the intro video as a sort of teaser before we really realized it was the title screen. The solemn beauty combined with the music brings tears to my eyes more often than not as I was just blown away by how it just... I can't even explain it, it was just beautiful.
I can't wait to see what Skyward Sword will be like ^_^
By the way, thanks for posting the videos for reference! It must have been time-consuming to do so
I thought it was kind of cool just showing some scenes in Clock Town and out of Clock town and putting it into a slide show. And the theme music they used for it actually fitted well for it as well. I thought it was clever.
My vote whole-heartedly goes to The Wind Waker. Not only is the music breath-taking, but I love the visual of Outset Island, and then Link in his villager gear, staring out at the ocean. I always pictured this as the day before his birthday (when the game started), with Link symbolically standing on the precipice of adventure and maturity.
OoT. The way the music and the morning setting blend together just hits me a certain way. I camp a lot, and that small period of time when the sun is just rising is my favorite time of the day to experience. I remember backpacking on top of numerous mountains when the sky was right between night and day. It wasn't light, yet it wasn't dark. I dunno, calm's the best way I can describe it. That intro just reminded me of some of the feelings I experienced during that time.
Born to fight
Trained to kill
Ready to die
But never will
Twilight Princess with Ocarina of time as an close second. They are really similiar so it's hard to to decide but I love the howling at the end with midna's theme(lament?) in the background.
Plus, I don't know if it counts but the trailer that comes after a while with the orchestral score is epic
