Something funny about Octorocks

Hey you know those really annoying Octorocks in Zelda, right? Well, a lot of you probably noticed this, but I didn't realize it in TWW, but when I read it online,
it just made me laugh. The octorock monster has appeared in every single Zelda game since the Legend of Zelda in the 80s! It started out as a small pink octopus that shot projectiles. Now it's a scary muli-eyed huge squid you have to take out with a cannon. As a result, in the Nintendo Gallery, the octorock has been given the perfect attendance award. Just thought that was funny.

Re: Something funny about Octorocks

Well, technically the big multi-eyed things are Big-Octos, first appearing in MM, but OCtorocks, Moblins (I beleave), and Keese have all been in ever zelda game, which is kinda neet, but Goombas have been in every Official Mario game but except SMS and SMB. 2 (which technically isn't a Mario game), Koopas are in every one but SMB. 2. So it's common for video game series to keep characters, heck, Every classic and one X Megaman game have metools in them, constant enemies are just there, and probably always will be.

Have you noticed that the guy in Nintendo Gallery (not the sculptor) has a picture of an Octorokin his bag?

Wasn't the miniboss in OoT in Jabu Jabu a giant Octorok, with out the rocks? Hmm...

Anyway, yeah, Octoroks are neat. I like how they look in FS offical art, so they look like the ones in the Seasons and Ages games. I like them red and round, with closed eyes, short spider legs, tube mouth, and white around their eyes. They're cute that way. I also would love keese if they didn't knock me off of platforms so much. Darrrn keese!!

I stand corrected, Big Octo did start as a miniboss in OoT, although he is never similar between games, OoT you have to chase him and hit him w/ boomerang attacks while avoiding the spikes, in MM he just sits there and sucks you into the poison water, in WW they are huge and suck you in, but can be killed with bombs/boomerang attacks.

Re: Something funny about Octorocks

The Big Octo in Ocarina of Time was taken directly from the Link's Awakening miniboss in Angler's Cave. The Big Octo, therefore, originated in the 2D days.

Re: Something funny about Octorocks

Actually, in LA, it was called Cue Ball. I think the idea was copied from LA, but it wasn't the same.
Were Octorocks not in MM?
Oh, and Ganon_Dwarf, in addition to there being Big-Octos in TWW, there were smaller Octorocks at Forest Haven.

Actually, not "Just Kidding". There were flying Octoroks in LA, with fairy wings. So they've been everywhere. ^^

Re: Something funny about Octorocks

That's right, and there were Octorocks at sea which weren't the big octos, or were those another species? As for octos in MM, the big octo in Southern Swamp is an example.

Alotta people prolly think that the Octos are annoying, but I think they are pretty cool, because they bring back memories of the old days.^^

Re: Something funny about Octorocks

There are even Octoroks in the CD-i games - or at least, in Wand of Gamelon and Faces of Evil. I haven't played Zelda's Adventure.
