I know some of you might have not been old enough to remember or have ever even seen The Legend Of Zelda Cartoon. But I was thinking (Scary thought) about something; For those who remember The Zelda cartoon, remember how Link was a smartass? I believe one of his most memorible quotes was "WELL, EXCUUUU-UUUUSSSSEEEEE MEEEEEEEEE PRINCESS" Link had quite the mouth on him on the cartoon series.
But on the games, especially Oot, MM, and WW Link's rarely even talks. But on the Zelda Games when he does acknowlodge something, or recognizes something, he usually just nods his head or stares and smiles, or stares in a puzzled look. Even when talking to someone around him who is kind of b!+chy or rude toward Link, he doesn't even say anything back. I wonder why he doesn't say anything back to people like he would of on The Zelda Cartoon??? Just a though. I guess it would be kind of cool to see Link turn into mouthyass toward the Hyrule Citizens who are mean and rude toward him. I guess all I can do right now is just keep throwing pots and stools at people. -lol-

Re: The Differences between Link on the video games, and Zelda The Cartoon...
if link talked in the game then it would go on forever, plus it would make more of an rpg than an adventure

Re: The Differences between Link on the video games, and Zelda The Cartoon...
You can download those old cartoons from this website.
Link doesn't talk so that the player feels more connected to him. In Star Fox Adventures, Fox was often saying stuff like "There's no way I'm getting paid enough for this" and such, which made it obvoius that he is a different character and the player is just controlling him. Zelda games can be so immersive because the player feels like they are Link, not just a player controlling him. |

I hated Link on the cartoon-like just about everyone else.
![]() *thinks* Link with a foul mouth and a bad attitude* Whauahaaha! ![]() Also, I agree with what Hylian Dan said-he's not meant to have a personality of his own, so yours fits into it instead. |

Re: The Differences between Link on the video games, and Zelda The Cartoon...
If Link had a an attitude, he would remind me of Conker the Squirrel from Conker's Bad Fur Day! That would be interesting if I was controlling Link and he turned around and cussed me out. I guess it wouldn't be Zelda if Link could talk in the game.

Re: The Differences between Link on the video games, and Zelda The Cartoon...
i hated Link's persona in the cartoon. He never really seemed like a hero to me, just more of a smartass. In the game I get a more chivalrous persona from Link, than the annoying version that DIC Entertainment gave us.

Re: The Differences between Link on the video games, and Zelda The Cartoon...
Yeah, cartoon Link was always on hormonal overdrive and always wanted a kiss but never got it on the Legend of Zelda cartoon. However he did get a few slight pecks on the cheek in Captain N: The Game Master. He was displayed a bit better on this series, but the first show he was on had him jealous of Kevin in which I didn't like. The Link I portray would like to get as much help as possible on his adventures.

Yeah, but faces of evil is a CD-I game, and they never count as the real thing

Re: The Differences between Link on the video games, and Zelda The Cartoon...
THANKYOU!! Everyone here agrees that the cartoon is a disgrace to the whole zelda series!! Link in the cartoon (or should I say, an evil clone of Link
) is nothing like how Link really is! (Okay, I'm just gonna call him...clone.)First of all, link is not shallow!! I mean, have you seen the clone? Like, the first time he sees Zelda, and ever since, he said and has been saying "KISS ME! KISS ME! KISS ME! KISS ME!.."well, you get the point. And I don't even wanna get started about how ugly he looks. C'mon!! The cartoon's not even anime! Can you believe that? They'd better not create a new one unless it's anime. And even then they should be carefull not to make it suck.

Re: The Differences between Link on the video games, and Zelda The Cartoon...
I never liked the Link from the cartoon series. (I never liked the cartoon series anyway). I prefer Link when he does not talk.
