Ancient Language

I was wondering, if the ancient language they use in L0ZWW could be deciphered to the english alphabet because if it could. I would start writing it everywhere maybe even for homework lol

Maybe the language used in WW is made up. Try googling it and seeing if someone already created the alphabet.

The Ancient Hylian language is an actual language which translates to Japanese, which then translates to English. There's been quite a few threads on it before, so search around on it.

This translation doesn't work at all, he just took the letters and made them into our alphabet, you wouldn't be able to get any ww translations with this. It is already a real language and apparently this guy thought it wasn't.

This is the real translation, and by the way, has anyone noticed that the hylian text on phantom ganon's sword says *Gabora*

I never noticed the word Gabora on Ganons Sword.

Anyway, i have read the translations for the Hylian text. In the Japanese manuals for the game, it has a translation guide for the Hylian text

Why does it say "Gabora" on Phantom Ganon's sword? Isn't that the guy at the smithy in Majora's Mask? When I saw those letters on the sword I was always intriged by what they could mean, but.....does anyone know why it says Gabora?

Isn't Gabora the last name of the owl?

i thinks hyrulian language is strange but a good way to pass meesages without people knowing what it says

Well earlier last week (I think), I had a thread called "Old Hylian Text" where we were talking about the exact same thing. ibjeremy, showed us a link to a website where it showed in depth knowledge about the translations involved in the ancient hylian language...but sadly, it is no longer with us. ACK!!! Hylian, not Hyrulian, Hyrulean, or Hylean!!! Sorry, that's a pet peeve of mine, it bothers me how everyone, including Nintendo, keeps messing that up! (Hyrulean Adventure, sheesh!)

I think the owl is Kaepora Gaebora, so there's an extra "e" but you might be on to something. But really, what does Phantom Ganon have to do with a swordsmith and an owl? Perhaps if it is referring to the owl, who is a reincarnated sage, the sage's original name could be Kaepora and the Gaebora could mean something like "copy" or "duplicate" in which case Phantom Ganon is like a "duplicate" of Ganon(dorf) sort of. Or Nintendo could have just put that word on the sword because they couldn't think of anything else. I dunno.

Yes that is interesting but maybe nintendo did mean something from it except, we will never know. or we are not ready to know lol.

So I was looking at the runes in the website that sliver arrow posted, and I started thinking. Wait, take that back, I scratched my head and then started thinking. Runes seem pretty primitive for an advance race like the Hylians. I would say by their weapons and clothing that they compare to about 100 years after the fall of the Roman Empire. Now that I think of it, the Romans had a letter-based language! Why in the world do the Hylians still using such a base form of writing?

Maybe they really haven't advanced that far. They still use horses right?
