I agree with Saria and Deku tree, the others I don't really know about. But I will tell you this: Orlando bloom will NOT be yong Link. same goes for the olsens and Zelda. The olsens could play twinrova though, the part mirrors them perfectly (j/k)

A movie while so many hated the cartoon?

Re: Best Actors/Actress's for future Zelda Movie

The cartoon was a half assed attempt at creating an animated seires. The shows creators knew they had to ride the popularity of the Zelda game because they obviously knew they didn't have the tallent to create anything that was good on their own. In doing that they stuck fairly religiously to incorporating aspects of the game play into the show which is extremely retarded in the sense that the prehistoric game translated to quality animation just looks plain absurd and highly laughable (the formula would have been better if the show was meant to be intentionally funny)

Zelda could be brought back in another animated series and could be done very successfully if the creaters only stayed true to basic elements of the series. Just because the story for LoZ or OoT was good to be told through the respective NES and N64 games does NOT mean they are good enough to be expressed through animated or live action media.

If they did make a movie or a new cartoon seires I would sure hope the elements and plot would be fairly unique and original to the movie or series.

Judging by the poll about this being about OoT, I'd have to say the movie would be incredibly bad unless it barelyresembled OoT the game at all except through the most basic concepts.

God no please!!!

We don't need Hollywood to make a Zelda movie-they'll botch it up!

Please, we need to make an anime style Zelda movie, based off OoT and MM I think. It could be a good two-parter...

But no acting on them, other than for voices-which would also end up being terrible.
*waits for it to exist then gets it in Japanese even though she can't understand it*

NO! I don't wanna see Hollywood screw up another video game title. If they're going to do anything, It needs to be animated. That one might be actually decent, but the live action one would suck big time.

Well excuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuse me princess!
Just kidding, that show was terrible but I liked it because it was funny how pathetic it was (Link takes a tiny boomerang out of his pocket, it flashes red and makes the you got an item fanfare from the game as it gets big enough to use. Link throws it at a monster who flashes red with a BLEEP and vanishes). There was one part that I thought was genuinely funny though:
Link: You called for a hero princess?
Zelda: Yes, but I guess you'll have to do.

A Zelda movie would not work; it would just turn people away from the games. Zelda should remain a strictly videogame series.
Ha, an Olsen twin as Zelda? I have to vote that

Re: Best Actors/Actress's for future Zelda Movie

Well most of you have shown good point, and I must say that I am very much impressed by Oni Zelda's cunning linguistics, she sounds intelligent, and yet so :moodswing chilly :moodswing , and I see your points. Okay I've got it. I will not be posting another Zelda movie thread for some time now. Oh and I would have to say, If they make a Zelda Movie Why in the He!! would anyone want to see it animated? If You wanted animation you could play the games or watch the old cartoon. If they were to animate it the whole zelda series would turn into one big joke of a cheesey cartoon and I personally wouldn't want that. I would much rather see my favorite Zelda characters portrayed by impressive actors/actress's. I'd also like to see the action enhanced by special effects, plus if anyone were to do it it would have to be Warner Brothers. Afterall they are the biggest and the Best. okay so to conclude my post I would just like to say "Thank you for your time, and I hope this little dispute doesn't effect our relationship when it comes to other zelda posts, threads, discussions, etc."

Re: Best Actors/Actress's for future Zelda Movie

No, I believe a movie could be done with Zelda characters and themes. Heck it could be done better than LoTR simply because the games lack so much story depth because of how focused they are at bringing fun game play the the table and not just leaving the players to drown in too much story. The 10 odd ours that the LoTR trilogy takes up does not do 100% justice to the book (ie the movies could have been even better) but with Zelda there is nothing to live up to and you wouldn't even have to follow a set story line as creaters could conjur up their own familiar plot and throw the Zelda characters into it.

Then you also have the movies such as Brave Heart and King Arthur and Troy, movies that tell us half truths about history - the movies can't be all that great because they can't rely on history alone to be the most ultimate thrilling story - its exactly why all three movies I mentioned were all fictional in the sense that they changed around battles and added in fictional foes and allies just the make the story more interesting. With a Zelda movie you wouldn't have to worry about any of that because its complete fiction and the writers would be completely free (other than having to include basic elements such as possibly the TriForce as well as Zelda and a hero Link) to create their story.

There are somethings movies can do for us that video games can't, and it'd be great if there was a really good Zelda movie that would add a HUGE amount of depth the over all legend...of Zelda...

Okay now I see your point, I just thought that you were trying to trash my thread. And the reason I had so many bad actors/actress's was because i simply couldn't think of any good ones, and it was done in like a minute. Oh and I really meant what I said about you (minus the whole chilly part) I really do think your smart.

Halle Berry for Nabooru? Hell yeah! But onto the point, James Earl Jones wouldn't be a good Deku Tree, he'd be better off for Ganondorf. Why not have Ian McKelin for the Deku Tree? He would make such a good actor.

I disagree with them all.

If they make a Zelda movie, I'll probably sit down and cry. Zelda doesn't deserve such an unfair fate as being one of those 'Movies based on video games'. They all suck.

Re: Best Actors/Actress's for future Zelda Movie

That's what you guys don't seem to understand, is that if done right the movie could be incredible.

The superman movies were lame (ie going from comic to movie didn't seem like a good idea after those movies), the Batman movies were ok, but then you've got your jewels such as Spiderman 2 that is critically aclaimed by critics, consistently getting 4 stars and pleasing die hard comic fans and casual movie goers all the same.

The great thing about the good comic book movies is that the best ones don't religiously stick to what the comic books established, they change things around for the better which is what video games to movies needs to do.

That's why I say an OoT based Zelda movie would most likley not be that great - just because it was a great game does not mean it would make a great movie.

However, we certainly do have the technology and the capability to create just about any story we want and show it in the form of a movie. IF done right we could easily have an incredible Zelda story in the form of a movie...I just wouldn't give the rights to any director who wasn't brilliant as well as a big fan of the series. Sam Raimi had almost no real big movie experience before Spiderman, and after dipping his toes in the water with the first movie, he made a gem with Spiderman 2 - and he was chosen if only because he was such a dedicated fan as well as qualified director for the job.
